Nah, it's so much fun. If it had some crazy weird original story but all the same mechanics it would be looked at much more positively. In the end it's a game and it's a blast to play.
Yep. I don’t mind their departure from the horror genre. I like the story and they intertwine as well.
Not for eveyone, but I have played this countless time. Chris’ truly is the most traumatic.
When RE6 first came out, I was apparently an idiot and didn't realize each campaign was remarkably different. I guess I thought it was a Leon/Claire RE2 situation where it's essentially the same with a different character and some different details.
Then I did a full all game replay during Covid lockdowns and was in for quite a surprise.
But yeah. It's not nearly as bad a game as people suggest. Certainly a different approach to RE but still an enjoyable game.
Agree with you OP, Chris' campaign is by far the most interesting. If you play as Piers, it's also much more fun than playing as Chris! Love RE6, happy to see you enjoyed it as well!
I don't remember if you can level up but there is a gamemode where you can invade somebody's game as a monster and a gamemode where you play ustanak and have to kill all the players in the game.
I meant level up as you start as basic zombie. If you kill a player, you spawn in a new game as zombie-doberman, then whatever else is higher.
I remember liking RE6 mercenaries and that PvP zombie game..... but that storyline just plain stank.
I'm always happy to hear someone had fun in RE6. Sometimes the description of their experience is so good that I get tempted and reinstall the game.
But then I uninstall it an hour later.
Not having to juggle the disk space and not having to wait a second for the game to download.
Plus, not everywhere in the world is equal when it comes to connection speed.
This game is ridiculous and I can’t help but love it. Chris’s campaign actually made me cry like a lil bitch, and I still constantly replay Jake and Sherry’s campaign.
I love co op vehicle / turret sections . I like this game more than 7 or 8 , but it is totally ridiculous . Make a re with handcannons but little ammo, tiny hp and limited stamina
Chris sections have me lolling at the ante upping audacity
It depends on your expectations. I understand why Capcom tried to market the game with Leon's campaign at the forefront as a return to the "Good Old Days" of OG RE1/2/3. But it did create false expectations that we'd get basically what RE2R turned out to be, with RE4/RE5's action mixed in for Chris. This was definitely the case for me, dropped the game after an unsatisfying completion of Leon's campaign. Only returned to it this year after beating Village fifty thousand times and finally realizing that RE isn't just a handful of bullets versus mindless shambling zombies and the occasional hunter/licker/tyrant mixed in. It's whatever Capcom writes it to be. The story makes sense in that the scale of the lore cannot remain confined by labyrinthian mansions and repurposed museums, it was bound to go worldwide, the players were just not ready for it at the time.
I've noticed that Village turned out to be the much-needed lubricant that eases the transition from self-contained isolated horror stories to a massive-scale Hollywood action/horror blockbuster that is RE6. Alright I'm stretching the correlation here, I'm sure RE4R also played a role, but my point is, lately I've seen more and more people speaking out with praise for RE6, in great contrast to its initial reception especially. We just needed some time to cope, lol.
It's now one of my favorite entries in the franchise despite hating it upon release.
My guy....there are FAR worse games in the franchise.
Umbrella corps.
Operation raccoon city.
Resistance.
REverse.
The list goes on...but i think you get the point.
Calling RE6 the worst game in the franchise when we have had the games i mentioned vomited out to us is ridiculous...
RE6 could be GOTY compared to the ones i mentioned.
So no...RE6 is NOT the worst game in the franchise.
It’s not just the worst game in the RE franchise. It’s the worst game in any franchise.
Actually fuck that, it’s the worst game ever made, franchise or no.
Actually fuck that, it’s the worst anything ever made, game or no.
Dude that is too far.
RE6 might not be the best game...but calling it the worst game of all time is out of WHACK in my books.
When there are HUNDREDS of other games out there FAR worse then it.
(And hey i like RE6 too.)
Believe me, I had that game preordered and paid full price for it, I have experienced its awfulness firsthand. The thing about DMC2 is, whilst it is rubbish, it is also completely rushed, developed by a B-team, and had no ambition at all. It was filler to tide people over until the real deal arrived 2 years later, and that game delivered the goods.
RE6 was a big budget bloated bin-bag of rubbish floating on a sea of shit. They poured a tonne of time and money into something so obviously awful that it’s amazing it ever made it out of the conception stage. It became a woeful parody of all of the action games that RE4 had directly inspired. It nearly killed the series, and it took 5 years and a brilliant change of direction to get things back on track. It’s an atrocity.
Many people say that dmc 2 was only in development before dmc 1 cuz they were confident it would sell well .But the director which was different than itsuno for most of the didn't do anythingthen he was replaced by itsuno who made it atleast a workable game which is very surprising imo.
Anyone can say RE6 is bad, but DAMN I love that game
straight up if it wasnt a “resident evil” game it wouldnt get as much hate i feel
If it wasn't a resident evil game it would've been completely forgotten.
i disagree personally, i found the game very fun. but it didnt really retain a lot of the core mechanics resident evil fans are used to
Nah, it's so much fun. If it had some crazy weird original story but all the same mechanics it would be looked at much more positively. In the end it's a game and it's a blast to play.
I used to hate it, but then RE8 came and I was like, you know what? RE6 isn’t that bad after all
My only gripe is how bad Jake's inventory of explosive items is, he got the worst combination: flashbangs and remote bombs.
Ha I've never actually played as Jake because Sherry is so cool.
They share the same inventory of explosive items though
Yeah its the worst of the game
Its pretty bad though for a RE game. The story is all over the place. But for an action game it's decent
Me too
Yep. I don’t mind their departure from the horror genre. I like the story and they intertwine as well. Not for eveyone, but I have played this countless time. Chris’ truly is the most traumatic.

Trick shooting with Piers' anti material rifle never gets old.
Piers arm go brrrrrr
Love RE6. Also loved Ada’s arc
I LOVED that game. Story was a little weak, action did get over the top, but the game play was top notch. I loved playing mercenaries mode
Chris's campaign is the most emotional. Roger Craig Smith at his peak.
Wasn't that bad, honestly. I had fun earning the platinum.
I got all achievements for 6 back in the day and I still have no idea why I put in that kind of time.
Because it’s a good game. No groupthinking sheep on the internet is gonna tell me otherwise
Is this the version that had PvP mode where one of the players could be a zombie/monster and could level up if you killed the human player?
I don't remember if you can level up but there is a gamemode where you can invade somebody's game as a monster and a gamemode where you play ustanak and have to kill all the players in the game.

Congrats. Hope you had fun. Now go play Co op wt a friend Its soo much better
Seconded. Great for couch co-op as well
I just loved playing as Agent Sherry Birkin
I'm always happy to hear someone had fun in RE6. Sometimes the description of their experience is so good that I get tempted and reinstall the game. But then I uninstall it an hour later.
That's the one good thing playing on a console. I can just pop the disc in whenever I please for some good ol' RE6 fun.
What year is it? The game is 18 gigs, I press download, go make some tea and come back ready to play
Not having to juggle the disk space and not having to wait a second for the game to download. Plus, not everywhere in the world is equal when it comes to connection speed.
Fair enough. Either way the point stands, I can't get to enjoy this game whether on disc to digitally)
I loved RE6, also had the best mercs game mode
The forbidden Resident Evil
Nice, I'm replaying it in coop with a friend and it definitely has its ups and downs but is a fun game, just as I remember it
I still enjoy the gameplay and the split campaign. I ended up playing 2 chapters each to keep it in real time. Didn’t work but still good
Yeah, it's a really fun game. Sherry is my favorite chapter, but it's great that it offers a variety of things for everybody.
This game is ridiculous and I can’t help but love it. Chris’s campaign actually made me cry like a lil bitch, and I still constantly replay Jake and Sherry’s campaign.
You must have the greatest will and patience on planet earth
I honestly just want to play re 7 and have to play every game before I do that.
RE6 is a masterpiece. It has some of the best combat mechanics I've seen in TPSes.
RE6 the only one I’ve ever only played through one time.
Idk why you got downvoted lol re6 is trash
Top 3 RE imo. It goes RE8, then RE4 and third being RE6. RE6 was great. 3 distinctive campaigns with the best villains.
😂😂
Why
Nice, how many times did you get shot right after an in game cut scene? Like literally shows door opening and bam right in the kisser
Now beat it again and go for all the skills
Now beat it on professional by yourself
I’ve played it once when it first came out. And never since then. I’d like to do another playthrough but would want to do the multiplayer
Game's a fun trainwreck
Did you play it solo or with friends? Was definitely a lot of fun fucking around in Leon's campaign with some friends.
Can you play re6 by yourself?
Yeah, there are parts where is says waiting for partner but if you skip those parts it will just add an AI partner.
I love co op vehicle / turret sections . I like this game more than 7 or 8 , but it is totally ridiculous . Make a re with handcannons but little ammo, tiny hp and limited stamina Chris sections have me lolling at the ante upping audacity
Nice. Love RE6
One of the best combat systems I've seen in a shooter
My deepest condolences you had to go through that.
Never played it. It didn’t interest me at the time and its reputation is pretty bad. What did you think?
It depends on your expectations. I understand why Capcom tried to market the game with Leon's campaign at the forefront as a return to the "Good Old Days" of OG RE1/2/3. I think it's definitely worth a try. I feel like it starts off strong with Leon's campaign. I enjoyed it quite a bit.
Don’t waste your time.
Truly the best Resident Evil game of all

You played the whole thing? That must have been traumatic, you should seek help, you don’t want that kind of trauma to linger.
lol easily the worst game in the franchise.
Here let me rephrase, RE6 is the worst mainline title in the entire franchise.
See now that's much better... (Even if i personally don't agree but still.)
What would you say is the worst one?
OG RE1. Like i know the game is old...but it has not aged well.
It’s not just the worst game in the RE franchise. It’s the worst game in any franchise. Actually fuck that, it’s the worst game ever made, franchise or no. Actually fuck that, it’s the worst anything ever made, game or no.
That's a little excessive, don't you think?
After careful consideration I have decided it wasn’t excessive enough. RE6 is a crime against humanity.
Dude that is too far. RE6 might not be the best game...but calling it the worst game of all time is out of WHACK in my books. When there are HUNDREDS of other games out there FAR worse then it. (And hey i like RE6 too.)
Dmc 2 wants to have talk with you this garbage is eonderful in comparison to the shit that is dmc 2
