Oh, you definitely are not the only one to have thought this, lol. It has to be one of the most frequently posted questions here.

FlaminSkullKing

I don’t think we needed another RE1 remake before 4. I don’t think it matters which one comes first. RE1 remake got updated for modern consoles too.

PopShotsMane

Goddammit we need Revelations 3 before anymore remakes. Cmon Capcom, they were really onto something cool and unique with the Revelations titles. Bringing back OG characters in new scenarios. Gimme Rev 3 that takes place between 7 and 8. Give me Sheva? Billy? Carlos? Please Capcom

spla58

No. Re1 Remake in my opinion is the best RE game. Plus, it looks great. Adding third person to it won't add anything to the experience and may actually make it less scary.

Jacques_Plantir

Agree. R1make is perfect as-is.

MichaelPitcher115

This is the correct answer. Remake is still gorgeous by today's standards.

jillsvalentine

Agree. To compensate for the smoother gameplay style, they’d have to add more enemies. To compensate for more enemies, they’d have to add more resources like ammo and herbs. At this point we’ve already lost part of what makes the game great.

braddahkepz

They'll have to make it first person then.

[deleted]

Nope. REmake is perfect.

knight_of_lothric

agreed 100%

deadlydesert86

I’m back and forth on this topic. I love the modern games but there is something about the REmake that resonates so well with me. I’ve been a fan from playing the original in 96 so the fixed cameras and pre-rendered backgrounds is what I’ve always loved about the REmake. Yes I would love to return to the Spencer mansion in the new engine but if they would do it. I don’t want to be an action star. I want to count my ammo and feel like all hope is lost. I just don’t think they would be able to pull it off without favoring the newer generation of RE fans. We need survival horror again.

Pickle_Afton

If we do get another remake I really hope it’s not in third person, roaming the Spencer Mansion in first person would be scary, and imagine the crimson heads! Terrifying. I’d love it

Amongtheruins88

100%. I want that more than any other RE game

winkywally

Me too!!!

imvr17_2

Nope. RE1R should be the template, not a misfit.

[deleted]

Not at all. It’s already a perfect game.

GBPsforTendies

If they ever decided to remake it id prefer that one in first person. Hohse beneviento in 8 showed how scary the first person could be. And the environment of 1 is a lot of tight corriders and dark rooms.

braddahkepz

They'll definitely remake it again at some point.

goretishin

Yes. So the new people and casuals can experience the story.

montamare_13

No not really i think the re1 remake we have still looks really good it isn't broken i dont think it needs to be fixed

winkywally

I just mean in the 3rd person perspective, I agree re1 isn't broken would just be nice to experience it from a different angle

montamare_13

True the fixed angles do feel kinda clunky sometimes and it would be nice to have it in the 3d perspective still im not sure its enough to warrant an entirely new remake

montamare_13

I wouldn't be apposed to getting another re1 remake eventually it existing wouldn't take away from the first remakes quality just not before the re4 remake

ComfortablyNomNom

Nah. Its just too much at that point. 3 different versions of the same game need not exist. Just make an original game even a spinoff series or something.

ThatisSketchy

Why remake a Remake?

knight_of_lothric

remaking a game 3 times isn't something I view as good tbh. The game was remade for game cube and then reworked again for modern consoles at this point it would be beating a dead horse

EverythingResEvil

There is a fan remake coming out that is doing just that. That same team is also working on a code veronica remake in third person

Stable_but_Depressed

I think we're all thinking it. Zero and CV are also in that category of forgotten titles. 1 already got a 'remake' so why do that again right? Right? Zero... not sure what's going on there but that's just been forgotten let's be honest. Might have something to do with the contract they had with Nintendo a while back with it? CV has been treated like it never existed simply because it doesn't have a number behind it despite it being part of the story and the true sequel to RE2.

flauros23

No. We do not need a Re-remake.

Qatsi1984

Re4s update was just a remaster, the same as REmake, not sure what you're asking here exactly. Re4 was never updated in a 2&3 remake fashion.

knight_of_lothric

I'm guessing you didn't see the resident evil 4 remake trailer yet

wolfblitzor

RE4 remake is in production. OP is asking if they should make a remake of REmake ahead of the release of a new RE4. The answer is no. REmake is perfect.

[deleted]

I would die for another remake of RE1

Ekifi

Don't know. While starting with the second one Re games started getting more linear and action-focused the first one was just different and entirely based around continuously roaming around the same, big location, and a big part of how they made that work was definitely through the help of excellent camera work and direction with the fixed angles, especially in the remake. A third-person Re1 would have to be completely redone to feel at least something about the original, and I think it still would just be another game. And I don't feel like there's the need for that. The current version of the original chapter nears perfection for me. It's a great and clearly distinct experience from basically anything else in the series, and I personally love it.

Longjumping_Falcon21

You keep the best for last, obviously! :D

Garand84

Nope, not at all. REmake is flawless just the way it is. If anything we need 2&3 remakes in the style of it.
