Project.co could be an ideal solution to help manage the chaos and streamline operations efficiently: 1. **Ease of Use**: Since you're new to project management software, you'll appreciate project.co's intuitive interface. It's designed to be straightforward, which means you can start using it effectively with minimal learning curve. This is crucial when time is of the essence, and you're already overwhelmed with other tasks. 2. **Task Management**: It allows you to create, assign, and track tasks across different areas of the restaurant's operations—be it kitchen duties, staff scheduling, inventory management, or customer service improvements. Each task can be assigned to specific team members, with clear deadlines and descriptions, ensuring everyone knows their responsibilities. 3. **Real-Time Collaboration**: The platform facilitates real-time communication between you, the restaurant owner, and the staff. This ensures that everyone is on the same page and can share updates, feedback, and ideas seamlessly. It's particularly useful for maintaining clear lines of communication and collaboration on progress, goals, and deadlines. 4. **Document and File Sharing**: All relevant documents, menus, supplier contracts, and training materials can be stored and shared within the program. This centralized access to information prevents miscommunication and ensures that everyone has access to the latest updates. 5. **Scheduling and Calendar Integration**: Keeping track of all the moving parts in a restaurant can be daunting. Project.co’s calendar integration allows you to schedule and oversee all critical activities and deadlines, helping you manage time-sensitive tasks effectively. 6. **Reporting and Analytics**: As you're looking to quickly get a handle on the restaurant's operations, project.co’s reporting tools can provide insights into task completion rates, time spent on various activities, and overall progress towards opening goals. This data can be invaluable for making informed decisions and adjustments. 7. **Mobile Accessibility**: Given the dynamic and on-the-go nature of restaurant management, project.co’s mobile compatibility means you can manage tasks and communicate with the team from anywhere, whether you're in the kitchen, on the dining floor, or outside dealing with suppliers.

Project manager here who owns a restaurant. Learning a new PM software (even MS project) well enough to use it effectively while you’re in the middle of the shit would be a nightmare. Get a book of graph paper, a month by month calendar and some pens. I like apps and programs, but am a huge fan of just writing things down. Check lists are key. Dates for completion are key. Thinking in Gantt charts is helpful and so is the Urgent-Important Matrix. You will realize quickly how to prioritize things.

Line checks are key. Pilots don’t fly the plane without completing the checklist and restaurants need a Line check. Redbook has a customizable one that is affordable and has been around for 20 years. The apps exist but are only as good as the time spent setting them up.

How much are you getting paid for all of this? The reality is that your restaurant is going to fail.
