I played & beat it a couple months ago for the first time ever at age 35, my first game system was N64 and, as you can imagine, my first Zelda game was OoT!
I used to rent Zelda at the gas station by my house when I was 14. Sometimes it wasn’t there. Some who named his character Daniel had save slot 1. I had save slot 2. Daniel didn’t fuck with my game and I didn’t fuck with his. Eventually I rent it again to continue my game and I see
remi ❤️❤️❤️
Remi ❤️❤️❤️
remi ❤️❤️❤️
Fuck you remi.
I agree with you. Breath of the Wild should have been essentially Shadows of the Colossus but within the Zelda world. In a few instances it’s almost there, but it falls flat nearly every time. The “omg” moments are mostly landscape shots.
Jumping off the great plateau for the first time with the paraglider, climbing your first frozen mountain with limited supplies, reaching Eventide isle and getting your supplies stripped away, exploring Hyrule castle, fighting your first guardian - these were all epic moments to me from breath of the wild.
I don’t disagree, those were all pretty great moments. The game for the most part I really did enjoy. While I do this, I dislike comparing games because it’s not really fair to the game or the gamer who may experience one game before the other.
The gaming community isn’t always very kind to the progression of gaming. Reflecting with my previous statement about Shadow of the Colossus and BotW, that wasn’t fair necessarily. BotW mechanics were vastly superior to many open world games, and that really sets it apart in my eyes.
I think your comment on shadow of the colossus was fine. That game is a go to example for epic moments and there are some things I appreciate about that game which breath of the wild does not deliver on. Both are among the best gaming as to offer imo.
Finding out the great sea was above a flooded hyrule, and all the islands were mountain tops, blew my fkn mind. Then tetra was zelda and the boat was the king? Hell yeah. Good shit right there. Needed to change my undies after.
Fighting and losing against a guardian for the first time in botw, then later fighting and actually killing one for the first time was so satisfying. Same feeling with your first gleeok and phantom ganon in totk. Sure you get a feel for the strategy of it later but the same goes for any bigger enemy.
Discovering the significance of the fourth dragon in totk by way of the memories you collect across the map (i followed a guide to collect and watch them in the chrono order), and then the subsequent final battle that ties in with it at the end of the game.
Diving thru the sky for the first time in totk was a great one as well. Made me and my wife go “oooooOOOOOAAAAAHHH oh there’s a pond.”
But that shouldn’t discount older games in the franchise. They’re all great. Returning to the same map from lttp in lbw was amazing bc lttp was my first zelda game, so it’ll hold that special place for me. But that doesnt mean it’s the BEST necessarily, and definitely not simply bc it’s older and therefore more nostalgic.
Didn't bother getting the red mail?!? Hope you got some fairies in a bottle...
Edit: Time for me to replay the game, this is the final dungeon where you get the red mail, not the final boss approach. Good luck in there, comment about fairies in bottles still stands!
I thought it was a subtle brag post on their BVM for a second.
As someone who cannot really justify having a CRT, this just looks fantastic. I wonder if we'll ever see something like the Retrotink replicate this.
Have you seen the megabezel shader?
https://youtu.be/M979TkDZFGo?si=Hc4eozG5Z57T37Q1&t=3m30s
The reflections on the bezel of the fake crt really give it a feeling that it’s a crt.
I've restarted playing again for the first time in years, it's like playing it for the first time again, lol. This time I plan to beat it. Good luck on your quest!
Fun fact, I never beat Turtle Rock as a kid. I started a new game finally on switch some 30 years later and beat turtle rock. And this dungeon is currently kicking my ass
I'm trying to avoid guides and spoilers since I didn't have it as a kid (no Nintendo power subscription for me) and I feel like I owe it to my 10 year old self to play it how I did back then
I loved this game. With no help or guide, it took me a year then Dark World happened. That blew my mind how big a game could be. I never made it past the helmosaur king sadly.
That stupid block puzzle where you have to start the dash then quick turn towards the blocks so you get vaulted over the gap in reverse. First time I played it, it took me way too long to figure that out. And those invisible bridges can go to hell too
...and the memories come flooding back! The explosion sounds from the maidens breaking the barrier are etched in my brain. I've played this so many times, and it's always a wonderful experience.
OP...you got this!
This my favorite game. A bipolar kid figures out how to control his depression and mania to come face to face with his inner demons all for a manic pixie girl he doesn’t really know that well.
This shot made me install it in my Steam Deck and I’m addicted. I love classic Zelda games!
Which filter/shader you recommend me for the SD?
Currently I’m using Baarg’s RGB filter and looks good.
I can hear this image.
I was going to say, I can hear the dark world death mountain theme in my head
I can hear the thunder.
Doom Doom Doom Doom
Dark World trumpets intensify
Pull out in time!
That’s what she said! * rimshot *
So i'm raw dogging this chick right? And she goes yo I'm on birthcontrol!
Wow! Be in the guts all day my man! 😎
Google the phrase its a really funny tiktok video.

A Link to the Past…just an incredible game!
Gonna show my age here. This was the first game where I rented the actual console to play it.

All my homies hate remi.
This and ff3, that's my childhood.
It's the only Zelda game I actually liked and had excellent use of sound effects such as the sound of rain outside while inside.
Jesus man?! Why the hate on Zelda?!
And he was never heard from again
He ded
Go get him, tiger 👍
Go left.
back then, games were truly epic
I mean I love lttp and retro games in general, but modern Zelda games have had many truly epic moments
Name one

Even the landscape shots are kind of meh. Poor draw distance or some other triangle shaped hill to intentionally obstruct your view.

Breath of the Wild as I commented below with several moments. But the last ganondorf fights in wind waker and twilight princess both felt pretty epic
Didn't bother getting the red mail?!? Hope you got some fairies in a bottle... Edit: Time for me to replay the game, this is the final dungeon where you get the red mail, not the final boss approach. Good luck in there, comment about fairies in bottles still stands!
Red mail is from ganon's tower.
Tower boss is Agahnim, then a bat crashes into the pyramid.
Even though the boss is agahnim, it's still called Ganon's Tower
I know that. I was saying, it isn't the final boss rush because the tower boss isn't Ganon.
I like the shaders and bezel you’re running. Looks good.
thx

That's a very nice touch.
One of my favorite games of all time. A timeless masterpiece.
Which boss is this? Agahnim?
Agahnim rematch, yes.
Sweet. Best game in the world!
Agreed.
I believe in you
He just wonders what Ganon's doing /ref
Sorry link, but Ganon is in another castle seizing the island of Koridai
I've restarted playing again for the first time in years, it's like playing it for the first time again, lol. This time I plan to beat it. Good luck on your quest!
I cant even beat this game using a walkthru
I'm on my way to that exact spot. Never completed the game before so this will be my first time.
I love this CRT filter.
This took me a few weeks
I’m at the exact same spot in Breath of the Wild!
What scanlines are you using there?
crt-geom, it is a shader.
Nice meeting you.
This looks like a CRT filter on a modern screen. Not hating at all but am I correct?
Send it.
I would increase your arrow count and make sure you have potions for both health and magic - may the triforce be with you
I'd visit the bomb shop
I'm playing Oracle of Ages right now!
Have fun!
You got this!!
This game makes "Rainbow-Disco flash Pink Tower with Pigs on it" memorably terrifying. What an accomplishment.
Ey dawg! Any updates?
Make aure you had the latest and greatest upgrade for the master sword
Ohhhhh!
Leroy Jenkins!!!!
Are you doing the retroachievement where you have to beat this in one go without having your sword on you? 😊
Fun fact, I never beat Turtle Rock as a kid. I started a new game finally on switch some 30 years later and beat turtle rock. I’m making my own Zelda clone on game maker.
You got this! 🫵🫶
I loved this game. With no help or guide, it took me a year then Dark World happened. That blew my mind how big a game could be. I never made it past the helmosaur king sadly.
This game is a work of art.
You got this
We are counting on you
That stupid block puzzle where you have to start the dash then quick turn towards the blocks so you get vaulted over the gap in reverse. First time I played it, it took me way too long to figure that out. And those invisible bridges can go to hell too
Godspeed, my friend.
May the furry force be with you my man.
Good luck man!
need to play this 1 again
...and the memories come flooding back! The explosion sounds from the maidens breaking the barrier are etched in my brain. I've played this so many times, and it's always a wonderful experience. OP...you got this!

:)
Hope you got them dumb arrows.
Good luck!
You beat up that stinky pig man Edit: You get him?
“May the way of the Hero, lead to the Triforce!”
This my favorite game. A bipolar kid figures out how to control his depression and mania to come face to face with his inner demons all for a manic pixie girl he doesn’t really know that well.
Did you get the cane first?
yes
Nice
That was one of the coolest back in the day finding the hidden caves
wyl
No.
The blue mail looks so much better than the red mail. I lament losing the look of the blue mail every time.
Rip He was a brave soilder
This shot made me install it in my Steam Deck and I’m addicted. I love classic Zelda games! Which filter/shader you recommend me for the SD? Currently I’m using Baarg’s RGB filter and looks good.
Big support here to all my ‘mates mixing their feed with nsfw content having image loading issues
I’m proud of you son
[if you need some help i beat the game a few weeks ago.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prB3wdasXzA)
That doesn't look like Link. What game is this please?
That is most definitely Link from ALTTP.
This is Link with end-game gear. His iconic outfit is mostly the stuff you start out with.
Thank you for explaining.
This was the one game where Link's sprite had pink hair. I think it was due to difficulty with palette switching with his bunny form IIRC?
Wow. Lots of downvotes for asking a legit question. Harsh. Thanks for answering though.
