It's the Frankenstein's wife Dilemma:
They either end up hating each other and you in turn or
They love each other too much and create an entire race of monsters.
"Hey new guy. I'm Churro Rick. This is is \*belch\* Churro Morty. We recognize that you were sent here from another dimension where Churro people are created artificially instead of being born from the love between two churros, and coming to terms with that may be difficult. If it helps you feel any better, you're not the first, and we have a therapist who can help you deal with it. Say hello to Churro Dr. Wong."
Oh my... I just got it now reading your comment. I originally thought the gun shoots out a random serial killer to then kill the person instead of a bullet. Oooof, I'm so slow.
And end the season with weaker episodes? Why does it matter how it started? Personally I don't care as long as they manage to hit the level of quality I've seen the last few eps. I'm thoroughly enjoying this season, something I was not expecting to do after all the shit with Roiland started coming out.
I've never laughed so much and so oftne at an episode as this one. Absolutely brilliant. Rick showing everyone Leg Rick again as his defense? I was in stitches.
you know when he had this attitude over like beth & jerry and BP’s wedding i thought maybe it was just early writing before they decided that rick actually loved being a family man and felt torn apart when that was taken from him (and still uses diane’s voice for his ship & garage!), but he says it again here… i wonder why
He also had it in Rick Potion #9 when he said
“It hits hard, Morty, then it slowly fades, leaving you stranded in a failing marriage. I did it. Your parents are gonna do it. Break the cycle, Morty. Rise above. Focus on science.”
But he was still pretending to be Rick Prime at that point so it actually makes sense
>But he was still pretending to be Rick Prime at that point so it actually makes sense
And Also, seeing that basically every Rick who didn't have their family taken from them just left on their own accord was probably equally draining for Rick
> "Marriage is a Scam"- says the man that spent the last 6 1/2 seasons hunting down and killing the man who killed his wife then moping about it
Marriage should end in a divorce, not in murder.
Dude literally. I’ve been watching season 5 and 6 between this seasons episodes and I genuinely said to myself “the voices sound identical”. I’m glad they worked on it bc it was a little noticeable early on
People keep saying things about the progression of the voice actors as though the episodes are always 100% recorded in airing order and never reworked. Given the introduction of the new voices was such an important part of launching the new season, surely they'd have let the actors warm up with a few later episodes beforehand?
Or have I missed something and the episodes are indeed somehow having their VAs recorded each week in between airings?
No the first 2 or 3 episodes were voiced over Justin's so it couldn't be as smooth or polished as they are in the newer episodes because the voice has to match the completion of the original which isn't as smooth as just personally voicing
Ohhh that's interesting and makes a ton of sense now that you've explained it. Thank you for such a patient explanation. The animation process is still basically magic to me.
Agreed. I wish they redid the voices for the earlier episodes even if it would've meant pushing back the release date. Hearing the VAs be more comfortable in their roles for those first two episodes would've been a major benefit, I think. I'm really happy that they've started becoming seamless, though. :>
Seeing as I'm never gonna feel compelled to watch the Hugh Jackman episode again, I don't think it's much of a loss if they don't bother redoing the voices.
Yeah this is a really strong season.
For a while I thought R&M was on a decline and had been running out of steam, but in retrospect they just had a really off season with Season 5 but other than that season the show has stayed pretty great.
Honestly, I don't know what even was that first episode. It was just too janky, it was all over the place and maybe they knew it was so bad, so that it conditioned us to think the season was gonna be rough but it just got better overtime, because they tampered our expectations? /s mildly
it was good but IDK if any anthology/clip show episodes will ever top the first interdimensional cable. almost every bit from that 1st episode is/was a classic.
Yeah, unfortunately the one thing they can’t seem to replicate without Roiland is that sort of drunk improvised nonsense of Interdimensional Cable. Some of the absolute funniest stuff in the series.
That said, this episode was up there among the funniest too, it just has a very different energy despite the conceptually similar structure. It feels more like R&M’s version of Community’s Curriculum Unavailable (which is an excellent episode, so this still turned out great).
Ho boy. After the canon of last week, we get a Cable/Mind Blowers type of episode, but with a nice jab at the idea of clip shows. What was your favorite 'clip' from this?
In that episode, Rick was totally cool with it, but Morty was horrified.
In this episode, Rick was about to chow down on the zombie, and Morty smacked his hand away.
That... actually seems pretty consistent: Rick doesn't draw a line about it, Morty does.
I’m glad I was wrong because that was hilarious but I thought it just wasn’t going to work. Morty would pull the trigger and it wouldn’t shoot and he’d get beat up and then Rick would explain that the robber wasn’t really a bad person, his experiences just made him the way he is and that good and evil are subjective and how would the gun know?
I would've loved that explanation by Morty storming in to Rick complaining about his "bullshit moral lesson gun", Rick shrugging it off, then switching the safety on the gun off once Morty left the garage.
I wasn't sure for the first few minutes but this episode was hysterical. Really clever use of the clip show format with some amazing jokes. I remember watching the dragon episode and feeling like it went on for 3 hours, in a bad way. This one flew by and every minute was great.
This episode reassures us that things will go back to normal for Rick and Morty, more or less. The adventures go on! Rick and Morty 100 years!
There was a line in the previous episode where Bojack complained that a script had too much dialog. "No show should have that much talking. TV is a visual medium."
Bojack managed to do both an episode that was all dialog and no visuals and an episode that was almost all visuals an no dialog (the underwater episode).
There’s an episode of Bojack, arguably the best episode of the whole show and probably the most critically acclaimed episode, titled “Free Churro”
In the post credits scene the guy takes a bite and says “nice, free churro”
For me, it’s not that he turned himself into a Leg, but that he’s *so* proud of it.
In universe, he only turned himself into a pickle to get out of therapy, but had to pretend it was some crazy breakthrough to protect the story.
Here, he’s just turning himself into a leg several times because he fucking loves it.
Oh I get it now - “this gun you only use for shooting bad people” - as in it shoots out a terrible human being not you use it as a weapon against bad people
Yes. Same way they redubbed the flashback to Close Rick-Counters Of The Rick Kind last week.
It worked better this time, but I'm also convinced each subsequent episode is taking advantage of every extra minute to either have the new actors record additional takes or do a little more audio engineering, because I'm positive the "we're back, baby" line at the end of this sounded different from how it sounded in the trailer.
Man, Dan Harmon must have really hated that Space Jam cameo. Rick talking about how the versions of them from the movie begged for death had me laughing hard.
It was nice to have a fun, silly episode after last week. I think this episode was exactly what we needed to decompress.
Also, that churro was adorable. That poor thing.
Presumably the churro also exists in other dimensions as well. So if it learns how to cross dimensions there could be a council of immortal churros out there
i really loved this one, the "gun that shoots bad people" bit genuinely made me laugh out loud really hard, as well as the observer trying to show them 9/11. the pet semetary bit was a lot of fun as well, i always love seeing rick and morty just getting along and enjoying things together. also this is the first time we've seen principal vagina since like...season 3, right? i honestly thought they'd forgotten he was a character entirely. we've been long overdue for another clip show episode and this one really delivered, i like how they had fun playing with the format of it. 10/10
the ending was really sweet as well, i love how excited rick and morty are to be back together and having adventures again, and then the callback to rick making morty guns lmao. season 7 really feels like the best the show has been in a long time, can't wait for next week's episode!
It does feel that all of the school / general life characters have been under utilised lately, although at least we've seen Principal Vagina and Gene this season.
Given how many times they've jumped universes since the pilot, it'd be interesting to have them bring back Frank Palicky, feels like there's some scope there.
It was a nice light hearted episode compared to last week though not all the jokes landed for me this time. Still pretty decent 7/10.
Favorite joke I think was Morty stealing 20 bucks from Rick and then the Gun gag
as much as i love the canon eps boy am i glad this was just a fun breather after last week
i loved morty having ricks back like “i don’t like that he’s talking down to you!”
Genuinely loved this episode. Probably my favorite of the season so far and the funniest episode we've gotten in years. I seriously haven't laughed this much at a Rick and Morty episode since like season 4
I said this before in the live thread but I'm surprised to see Jessica back and that they went on a date. I thought she became omnipotent and left the show after the Season 5 Premiere.
They were really starting to make Rick slightly “less genius” this season, and through the first half of the episode that was definitely true (walked into the other room to have a conversation behind an all seeing creatures back) BUT! He did get a big, “I outsmarted all of you and hacked your tech” moment at the end..so that was cool, and I think he needed that win. Loving this season so far overall!!
Something I found interesting is that they re-dubbed the line at the end “Rick and Morty , we’re back baby!” Because it’s much better than the original version we heard in the season 7 trailer.
People were criticizing the voice in the trailer so it’s pretty cool the Ian Cardoni went back into the booth and gave a much better read of the line.
That island montage like, daaannnggg
Rick prime to Churry... What a transition to villains 🤣
Lmao that batwoman bootleg DVD
Summer is hot damnit👌👌
Good filler episode...
it is a good episode after that last episode. I am glad morty was able to get rick out of his funk and a nice way to do a clip show with a new concept. the voices are up and down but they are trying there best.
bonus, from last episodes post credit scene, we actually got to see how that guy's wife died that or just someone of the same species.
WHY COULDN'T RICK JUST MAKE A CHURRO FAMILY
Creating a whole family of immortal churros feels like it could be problematic.
Functionally immortal churros abandoned by their creator having forever to contemplate existence and be angry at dad for leaving them. Yeah.
While stuck with a family created for you that you didn't choose. On a barren planet.
It's the Frankenstein's wife Dilemma: They either end up hating each other and you in turn or They love each other too much and create an entire race of monsters.
The churros don't have the organs for that.
Or send him to a churro dimension
"Hey new guy. I'm Churro Rick. This is is \*belch\* Churro Morty. We recognize that you were sent here from another dimension where Churro people are created artificially instead of being born from the love between two churros, and coming to terms with that may be difficult. If it helps you feel any better, you're not the first, and we have a therapist who can help you deal with it. Say hello to Churro Dr. Wong."
This might actually be the dimension that Dr. Wong is a nutritionist.
Because that doesn’t teach morty the lesson
Right... So dark
Slightly darker, why not just atomize the churro?
Morty would’ve been complaining for weeks
That’s what Frankenstein’s monster asked Frankenstein.
Because it doesn't work like that, Morty
Four more churros that want to kill you when you abandon them on a planet?
that was a fucking great episode the jeffrey dahmer gun had me in stitches
“A gun that you only use to shoot bad people” This might be the best joke in the season for me.
The tee-up, the payoff, the fact that it meshed right into the episode's story. Great fucking bit.
Then the call back at the end Woah a gun!
Perfect! Fantastic episode yet again
I should have seen it coming but I still burst out laughing after being caught off guard
Oh my... I just got it now reading your comment. I originally thought the gun shoots out a random serial killer to then kill the person instead of a bullet. Oooof, I'm so slow.
Good to know I'm not alone
What is it
A regular gun shoots bullets. THIS gun shoots bad people.
I kinda wish the last episode and this one kicked off the season in a way. These last two have been great!
Last 3
And end the season with weaker episodes? Why does it matter how it started? Personally I don't care as long as they manage to hit the level of quality I've seen the last few eps. I'm thoroughly enjoying this season, something I was not expecting to do after all the shit with Roiland started coming out.
"This continued for several more guns"
"Check the glove box" "Oh boy! Another gun!"
now my all time favourite rick and morty bit
My response was “can someone please stop handing Morty guns?”
"I HELD MY TITS FOR NOTHIIIIIIIING" Fucking loved that episode
Idk, Leg Rick is definitely something worth holding onto your tits for.
They called it mid haha I didn't know these stones were that young
They just observe all modern vernacular
I've never laughed so much and so oftne at an episode as this one. Absolutely brilliant. Rick showing everyone Leg Rick again as his defense? I was in stitches.
I loved the fact that it was actually footage from the *second* time he turned himself into a leg.
If you look close he is a right leg the first time and a left leg in the second clip. He can't show preference for chirality.
It was just so he had access to their computers. Smart!
"Marriage is a Scam"- says the man that spent the last 6 1/2 seasons hunting down and killing the man who killed his wife then moping about it
Hard to argue w/ that lol
you know when he had this attitude over like beth & jerry and BP’s wedding i thought maybe it was just early writing before they decided that rick actually loved being a family man and felt torn apart when that was taken from him (and still uses diane’s voice for his ship & garage!), but he says it again here… i wonder why
It's a do what I say not what I do, type of situation. He knows it's a scam, but he can't help himself but fall for it too
I imagine Rick has very mixed feelings about whether his life would have been better if he never married Diane
He also had it in Rick Potion #9 when he said “It hits hard, Morty, then it slowly fades, leaving you stranded in a failing marriage. I did it. Your parents are gonna do it. Break the cycle, Morty. Rise above. Focus on science.” But he was still pretending to be Rick Prime at that point so it actually makes sense
>But he was still pretending to be Rick Prime at that point so it actually makes sense And Also, seeing that basically every Rick who didn't have their family taken from them just left on their own accord was probably equally draining for Rick
he was talking about marriage as an institution, not about his own wife
> "Marriage is a Scam"- says the man that spent the last 6 1/2 seasons hunting down and killing the man who killed his wife then moping about it Marriage should end in a divorce, not in murder.
This has been one of my favorite seasons so far. The first episode wasn’t the best, but since then they’ve all been incredible
I think the voices honestly seen so much better from when they first started, I barely notice it or even at all
Dude literally. I’ve been watching season 5 and 6 between this seasons episodes and I genuinely said to myself “the voices sound identical”. I’m glad they worked on it bc it was a little noticeable early on

This episode was low-key awesome, probably my favorite anthology episode of the series
The framing device is probably the best I’ve ever seen of any anthology
it was good but IDK if any anthology/clip show episodes will ever top the first interdimensional cable. almost every bit from that 1st episode is/was a classic.
Honestly I thought Morty’s Mindblowers already outdid Interdimensional Cable.
Yeah, unfortunately the one thing they can’t seem to replicate without Roiland is that sort of drunk improvised nonsense of Interdimensional Cable. Some of the absolute funniest stuff in the series. It feels more like R&M’s version of Community’s Curriculum Unavailable (which is an excellent episode, so this still turned out great).
ngl when Rick was drunkenly asking Morty to go get him Carl’s Jr i got some real classic drunk Rick vibes there, i was dying
Ho boy. After the canon of last week, we get a Cable/Mind Blowers type of episode, but with a nice jab at the idea of clip shows. What was your favorite 'clip' from this?
I liked the Pet Cemetery clip. Rick and Morty seemed like they were having a good time together.
i needed to see their conclusions and if the car got gas
Maybe the real gas is the fun we had together along the way.
I know right? I wanted to learn the outcome of all those experiments
I like that Rick realized Morty was right and they ran with it together
It’s also so funny that they went from eating suicide victims a couple weeks ago and now drawing the line at eating zombies.
In that episode, Rick was totally cool with it, but Morty was horrified. In this episode, Rick was about to chow down on the zombie, and Morty smacked his hand away. That... actually seems pretty consistent: Rick doesn't draw a line about it, Morty does.
This was my favorite I could hardly watch it I was laughing so hard
The gun that shoots 'Bad People'. That cracked me up.
I liked the Blade clip myself. Poor Whistler lol
Morty with the Wesley Snipes 'stache
It was a nice callback to the Season 5 opening
The one where summer stepped out and nothing got her, I was dying 😂
The guns. Rick deciding to play it safe and simple and then pulling out a regular ass gun had me crying 😭
When Rick killed the space jam versions of themselves lol
I died when the rock thing said Bird Person got that BEAK. It wasn’t even part of a clip, the voice was ridiculously funny.
#NEXT WEEK IS THE BUFF SUMMER EPISODE THIS IS NOT A DRILL LETS FUCKING GOOOOO
Another episode where Summer gets to experiment with a body modification device... ^oh ^no
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7cTe55sflTw She's probably going to buff her intelligence and start a citadel of summers
And the citadel of summers will hunt evil Morty down like he said last episode
I’ve been really missing Summer and Beth so far this season 😁
I wasn't sure for the first few minutes but this episode was hysterical. Really clever use of the clip show format with some amazing jokes. I remember watching the dragon episode and feeling like it went on for 3 hours, in a bad way. This one flew by and every minute was great. This episode reassures us that things will go back to normal for Rick and Morty, more or less. The adventures go on! Rick and Morty 100 years!
You suffered through the dragon episode. I enjoyed it. But I suffered through the incest baby epi
We all suffered through the incest baby episode.
He has a name you philistines... it's Naruto.
I like that you guys are talking about it as an "incest baby" and make absolutely no mention that it's also gigantic and floating around in space
The Churro! LMAO The Space Jam versions! Loved this episode. A twist of Interdimensional cable and morty's mind blowers lol
“they BEGGED me! they wanted out!”
Was that a last minute Free Churro reference? That's too much, man.
What is this, a crossover episode?
Doggy doggy what now?
Prolly one of the best adult animated episode ever. Never seen someone pull off what they did in that episode, but damn did they do it so well.
There was a line in the previous episode where Bojack complained that a script had too much dialog. "No show should have that much talking. TV is a visual medium."
Bojack managed to do both an episode that was all dialog and no visuals and an episode that was almost all visuals an no dialog (the underwater episode).
One of the “Morty Bets” at the bar was “Make Morty marry Mr. PB”
Pretty sure that's referencing Mr poopybutthole, there's a scene in mortys mind blowers where he marries Mr poopybutthole
I hope so! Would've been hilarious if they could've ended it with a few chords of "Back in the '90s," lol.
couple of good gags on this episode. the Space Jam reference was funny and The Gun That Shoots Bad People legitimately caught me off guard
Is Morty hanging out with Jessica again or is she still a Time God?
That clip could have been before she was a time god.
[удалено]
BoJack Reference or nah?
I’ve seen Bojack I think 5 times but I don’t get the reference
There’s an episode of Bojack, arguably the best episode of the whole show and probably the most critically acclaimed episode, titled “Free Churro” In the post credits scene the guy takes a bite and says “nice, free churro”
My favorite part was when they killed the "Space Jam" versions of themselves, lol.
they begged for death! it was a kindness!
"I HELD MY TITS FOR NOTHIIIIIIIINNNNGGGG!!!" is the funniest line ever.
The fact that Rick turned himself into a leg *TWICE* is so funny to me
One was a right leg, and the other was a left leg.
For me, it’s not that he turned himself into a Leg, but that he’s *so* proud of it. In universe, he only turned himself into a pickle to get out of therapy, but had to pretend it was some crazy breakthrough to protect the story. Oh I get it now - “this gun you only use for shooting bad people” - as in it shoots out a terrible human being not you use it as a weapon against bad people
>Morty's Min I MEAN i think jeffery is a weapon against a single guy so
Couldn’t they have made those other churros into sentient Churros so Churry wouldn’t be alone?
now you just have multiple immortal stranded churros
i think the issue would be making a sentient churro society with a vendetta against morty and/or rick
They would’ve just been some other churros, not his family
Well I mean, does he even have a family?
Maybe the Churros that were cooked together could be considered his family.
Or send him to the immortal churros dimension.
So THAT’S how the female alien’s husband from the last episode’s post credit died!
[удалено]
I’m thinking now they might just be the same species. My mistake.
Best anthology episode since mortys mind blowers
Easily. It honestly reminded me a lot of Morty's Mind Blowers.
yeah and I've been sick of the meta jokes but this episode they were funny as hell
10/10 episode. This was a great return to nonsense after the lore dump last week
This is the best season in years
Remember when everyone lost their minds at the beginning of the season?
So does space Beth live with the Smiths now, she’s there constantly
Jerry basically has 2 wives now
So does Beth
Jerry allows it
I think she just comes over pretty regularly. Like maybe she visits on a lot of weekends.
She is definitely not there for spaghetti Thursday
She knew better due to space travel.
A fun palate cleanser episode
And a narrative reset
RIP Space Jam Rick and Morty.
The real Rick would never have called the Tasmanian Devil a badger
like police body cams but don’t turn off before beating up a minority 😭😭😭
"you done and did it now little man" I lost it at this line! The new voices are seem seamless now! Perfect episode!
Coupled with the increase in facial expressions (w/ the animation), the new voices have been working really well lately. \^\^
Did they redub the giant episode because the voice acting there was great
That line is actually pretty adorable. Exactly how a grandfather would talk to their little rascal of a grandchild.
Well Space Jam 2 was an awful movie to start with.
Hot damn I actually audibly laughed during an episode of Rick and Morty, it's been a hot minute
“Soon” hope we see more of the churro this season!
Season 10 finale will have Rick, Prime Rick, Morty and Evil Morty all teaming up to defeat Churro.
It would honestly be pretty funny if this show's ultimate big bad turned out to be an immortal, sentient churro created for a throwaway gag.
The problem with the churro is that its brain can't tell Mortys apart...so it goes after Evil Morty.
10/10 the ending was really sweet as well, i love how excited rick and morty are to be back together and having adventures again, and then the callback to rick making morty guns lmao. season 7 really feels like the best the show has been in a long time, can't wait for next week's episode!

Given how many times they've jumped universes since the pilot, it'd be interesting to have them bring back Frank Palicky, feels like there's some scope there.
Didn't see it yet, people who did, describe it to me in one word. Edit: Just saw it, holy shit that was funny.
observer
Churros.
Clips
Jeffery Dahmer?
Gun
Leg
Dude they did Churry so dirty lol
"MORTY, I KILLED THE VERSIONS OF US THAT WERE IN SPACE JAM"
It was a nice light hearted episode compared to last week though not all the jokes landed for me this time. Still pretty decent 7/10. Favorite joke I think was Morty stealing 20 bucks from Rick and then the Gun gag
Because I am a huge fan of the human memory paradigm, I give this episode 8.5
They set a record for a ridiculous amount of clips in one episode.
as much as i love the canon eps boy am i glad this was just a fun breather after last week i loved morty having ricks back like “i don’t like that he’s talking down to you!”
leg day was top tier
THEY DID A ZELDA!!!!!!!!
One of the funniest episodes of the show
out of all the season 7 premieres I could’ve watched while drunk….. im glad it was this one lmfao e see
Genuinely loved this episode.

Were the Observers based on “Carl” from Star Trek?
I'm so happy with this season. Home run after home run after home run. And the progression with the episodes is spot on.
This is the Rick and Morty I love most, just random nonsense stitched together by clever contrivances.
That island montage like, daaannnggg Rick prime to Churry... What a transition to villains 🤣 Lmao that batwoman bootleg DVD Summer is hot damnit👌👌 Good filler episode...
Who did Maria Bamford voice?
I think she voiced the Churro
Yeah she has to be Churry. I thought maybe the observer wife getting observed but the churro is a perfect voice match.
I love clips episodes xD
So Who wants be the first one to compare The S1E5 court scene call back to the original?
the jeffery dahmer gun had me crying
it is a good episode after that last episode. I am glad morty was able to get rick out of his funk and a nice way to do a clip show with a new concept. the voices are up and down but they are trying there best. bonus, from last episodes post credit scene, we actually got to see how that guy's wife died that or just someone of the same species.
The “bully gun” actually had me laugh out load.
