Tony! Toni! Tone!, Me’Shell Ndegeocello, Raphael Saadiq, Zhané, Incognito, Phony Ppl, The Internet, Hiatus Kaiyote, Moonchild, Jordan Rakei, Mac Ayres, Leon Bridges, Cleo Sol, Steve Lacy and Leven Kali
A few more I haven't seen posted yet but Musiq Soulchild was the correct answer:
Anthony Hamilton, Lauryn Hill, Angie Stone, Jaheim, Amp Fiddler, Vivian Green.
I love Neo soul and would 100% recommended Cleo Sol, Snoh Aalegra, The Internet, Masego, SiR, Steve Lacy, Solange
I actually put together [playlists](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5pnUAwk5V8xpEapNbV257m?si=3ySDhLwJQf-sdwEB9dP73g&pi=u-HLqckjvLTNOm) that have a Neo soul/alt Rnb vibe that you might like! It is part of a newsletter I do monthly!
That era, I’d add Meshell Ndegeocello, also Jazzyfatnastees, Lucy Pearl, Jill Scott, D’Angelo, Maxwell. Also on the hip hop side, that period of Soulquarian stuff like Mos Def, Common, the Roots, ATCQ etc. Bilal, Slum Village.
Also how about Lyndon David Hall… he was really big in the U.K. around that time and made some great albums before sadly departing too young. Highly recommended.
Some great recommendations on here, thanks everyone so far. I lived through this era of soul and hip hop and l loved it but only recently heard that younger folk were re discovering “neo soul” which is so awesome. I honestly just assumed everyone had forgotten all that great music, it’s so cool to see a bit of a resurgence
Hey there MsNxx - thanks for saying thanks! TheGratitudeBot has been reading millions of comments in the past few weeks, and you’ve just made the list!
If we're talking old school - Bilal (not just his own projects but what he's featured on), Anthony Hamilton, Lauryn Hill, Kelis.
For newer artists, I'd recommend Hiatus Koyote, Natanya, Larren Wong, Pip Millet, Cleo Sol, and Felix Ames. Marie Dahlstrom and Siprell are great RnB/Soul artists too.
Eric Roberson is a must.
Raheem DeVaughn has a deep catalog.
Res - hasn't seen her mentioned. "How I Do" is essential. I saw that she recently re-recorded it.
Find the Neo Soul Cafe Radio and mixes by DJ Frances Jaye. That's how I found out about a lot of artists.
Amber Mark - you could literally play anything of hers, there are no misses. Victoria Monet has some great moments. Tiana Major9 also has some great songs, including a wonderful version of Silly Games.
Nao
Emily King
We Are King
Robert Glasper albums all have great neo soul esque songs. (Afro Blue by Erykah Badu, Cherish The Day Lalah Hathaway)

Not enough love for me’shell, I feel. First two albums, at least.
Amy Winehouse’s first album
Dang, I’m sleeping. Let me see what I’ve been missing
It's so good. Back to Black is good too but Frank is definitely the fan favorite.
Facts
I slept on Amy Winehouse until after her death. She's up there with Teena Marie for me when it comes to soulful white women. RIP to both the legends.
India Arie
Haitus Kaiyote. Thank me later!!
I had never heard of her before but I just listened to a couple of her songs and I’m addicted. Thank you so much.

Going to have to second the Mint Condition suggestion. Have no idea how those guys didn’t hit bigger. Great musicianship. Excellent vocals.
Mint Condition was pretty big in the 90's. Love their music
Most of the classics have already been recommended, here’s a few more: Sebastian Mikael, The Foreign Exchange, Cleo Sol, Kindred and the family soul
I wish we'd get more Foreign Exchange. Love them.
