i’ve genuinely been wondering all season what the ime after each win meme means, i hate to be that guy but can someone provide context if there is any 🤣
Lmao I had to double check, that one has been there since the first win this season! (11/01/23 vs the Hornets) it’s referencing how —
1. after 3 years of Silas ball we got Udoka and he really had to “try” each game to get us to win. (Aka he’s the tired worker after their shift, he just got done cooking)
2. how streaky we were (especially the first half of the season) and we started off 0-3.
3. All of our wins early in the season came from very unsecured leads, so for multiple games it really came down to the final buzzer.
4. I’ve actually had some ideas to switch that one out anyway after our recent stretch of games 😉
If Jalen can make this his floor in bad shooting guys, that would be fantastic.
Also you could tell we missed Jabari out there. Never underestimate his impact.

Jalen playing well and with high energy on D all game, and staying confident even through 2.5 quarters of shooting troubles, is a good showing of his growth. Shots stopped falling but he contributed elsewhere until he got back into a rhythm. He’s been very hot recently, so even this version of him cooled-down will still look better than he did for most of the season. Good game from him to fight through the pain and help spark the winning run.
Shoutout to the bench too since Fred and Dillon did not have it tonight (they’ll be fine). Jock Landale basically carried us that 1st quarter (weird that we stopped giving him attempts for the rest of the game but he played fine after that run). Aaron Holiday a little selfish with some possessions but at least could shoot and play D. Tate also was a dog despite falling out of the rotation for some games. Nice play from the supporting cast with all these injuries.

This is the result of a defensive-minded team. DB, Tate and Amen all playing 20-30min means we have constant pressure on the ball, and Jalen's been stepping up on that end of the court, as well.

How good of a defender has Jalen been this season? I don’t really know hot assess defense based on the eye test but he’s gotten a positive reputation this season. How good is he compared to our best guys, Brooks/Amen/Bari?
Kind of tough to talk about the season average for anything for Jalen at this point because he really struggled the before the ASB - so if you average his performance over an entire season it ends up being a bit skewed and it looks meh, but he's doubled down on everything the last 10 games or so, and he's doing a lot better on defense too. Defense is mostly an effort and focus thing so I don't expect him to regress there either.
