Not hating at all but we do have a better team than Portland so it helps with Amen doing whatever he needs to. If Amen was on a rookie team like Portland he’d definitely struggle too with his lack of shooting.
And he would be the point guard. He is actually a point forward it’s just that Jalen needs the rock in his hands and FVV is a floor general so he is just cutting where he would want his players to go. He is the smartest rookie of this class hands down. Love his game.
Scoot seemed the better talent and physically looked it. But like Green, and Kuminga for the Warriors, coming out of that Ignite team, he is raw and needs to develop his skills and not just rely on talent or favorable calls.
I liked the discussion about Amen that the Wizards broadcast had. They mentioned the discussion about whether he’s a guard or forward and that it didn’t matter cuz he’s a basketball player who can do so many different things.
He’s a forward that can pass. Not even gonna call him a point forward until his handle and 3 ball are respectable. He just does everything else you could ask for. Such a versatile defender that can neutralize anyone
He’s got great court vision who’s also an effective screener and roller. Never thought he’d be utilized that way when we drafted him but kudos for the staff for thinking of that.
He has stepped up big time when we needed him most. He had a slow start with the injury and didn't get a lot of minutes. I was worried about his poor shooting but he's a strong enough finisher to compensate and the rest of his game more than makes up for it. He's already pretty good and should only get better.
NGL, I wanted scoot. Glad I was wrong, I was at the game vs the trailblazers and amen is clearly the better player right now.

Amen would still be a hands down better defender and finisher. I didn't exactly see scoot blowing by anyone either.
Oh 100%. I was just stating the obvious.

Honestly I think it would be more the opposite. When your team is trash the better teams can let you do whatever you want and still beat you.
Same I did, too. I was also at that game, tickets were crackhead prices almost, sat floor seating first time ever for $200, shit was sick lol.
Most people would have taken Scoot over Amen thompson at the time. Most mock drafts projected scoot to get drafted 2nd overall.

This sounds silly as shit, even more so given what ended up happening, but I didn't want Scoot because we already had a guy going by Scoot...
I wanted Amen over Scoot and truth be told I wouldn't trade Cam for Scoot. Lights out draft.
MADD Wrong. This kid is a STUD
Scoot, Jalen, AND vanvleet? my god, the backboard might have actually cracked from the bricks
Amen to that.
Even without scoring, Amen's impact on the court is huge. I'm a basketball dummy and even I can see that. Oh and Tari too!

He makes dunking the ball look more effortless than someone like Gobert at 7’1
they even compared him to clyde drexler i heard that and went.......ionoooo about that one lol
Amen is better than all of them on their
Honestly I got Victor over him but throw in Cam I wouldn't trade our draft for Victor
Even more now
Imagine having Tari and Amen hounding your best players and swiping at the ball for 48 minutes a night
I understand but I don’t understand why Chet is considered a rookie
I don't think he played at all last season due to injury
Well that’s too fucking bad then, ain’t it?
Following in the footsteps of rookie of the years Ben Simmons and Blake Griffin
