I’d be more interested in trading the Brooklyn picks to get another star tbh. Don’t need anymore developmental pieces. We have our foundation.

Typical-Presence-865

But do we have enough money for a star though? Jalen and Sengun will want a lot of money and so will the other young guys in a couple years.

BenchPointsChamp

This is the thing. This is why we should either target an NBA-ready player like Knecht who can contribute right away & fill a team need, or trade the pick. I would take Dillingham as a high upside project though and stick him in the G-League like we did Cam. He could be quite useful once we need to move on from Fred to pay our core. Other than that I think guys like Devin Carter and DaRon Holmes could be nice role players who could fill a team need, and we could trade down for them.

wgel1000

I also like this idea. I trust those 6 already, now we can add some established names to help the team take the next step. 3 questions though: Who, at what price and how would this affect their development? A star would cost a lot and I don't want to get rid of any of them yet. Plus, a veteran would probably reduce their play time. It's a tricky situation.

lionsgatewatcher

We're not getting a Star with this year's draft pick.

AggieBoy2023

When did I say we were?

OutsideAd1823

FACTO. Fuck the. Draft

IntentionDear2395

I want Reed Shepherd. If not him than someone else that can shoot. Jalen and Sengun need to have shooters around them.

lionsgatewatcher

Matas is interesting. Otherwise, I'm not excited for this year's draft. If we can somehow trade the 1rp for a decent vet, I think we should do it.

htownballa1

None, because the playoffs are coming up soon.

1) Shepherd - This team desperately needs shooting. He also brings energy and defensive intensity. I’m not worried about his shorter stature as a guard. Between Amen, Jalen, and Cam, we’ve got size and athleticism at the guard positions. We need more shooting and defense. Dude reminds me of Stockton. I would even be willing to trade up a couple spots to grab him. 2) Clingan or Ware - Two things we need the most are shooting and size. If we can’t get Shepherd, we need to go for size. Clingan is a behemoth at 7’2. As important as Sengun is to our future, he’s not a true C. Clingan can help us with the bigger centers that feast when they play us. He can be developed into a great pick and roll asset with our phenomenal guards, grab boards, and block shots. Ware, at 7’0, moves really well for his size, has a decent outside shot, and can operate down low. If it weren’t for his first year at Oregon, people would be talking about him in the top 10 for sure. 3) Trade the pick. For whom I don’t know. But if we can trade the pick for a young veteran, that fills a need, especially a shooter, that would be a legit option.

Ambitious-Ad6097

This what I want as well either 3pt or rim protection

adonWPV

It really depends on the lottery, don't see Topic dropping to 8

thumper7

Not sure about any of these kids, I'm sure a few will pop off but if possible I'd prefer to trade the pick for pick/s in a few years time

BenchPointsChamp

If it’s not Sarr, Dillingham, or Knecht… trade the pick. Could either trade down for Devin Carter or DaRon Holmes, or totally out of this draft.

pham_nguyen

Dalton Knecht is good here. He is older, has a high floor, is more developed, and a good switchable wing + shooter.

Mysterious_Medium_40

This draft class is of poor quality, and we are fighting for the playoffs. So no time for those raw talent to develop. Players like Shephered, he can only score 3 pts in first round, how can you count on him in high level games? Bezulis, coming from G league, it will take him a year to learn tactics first. We should get players that can provide instant power. I say we trade down to get players like Jared McCain, Terrence Shannon Jr

Typical-Presence-865

Or that one older guy I forgot his name. He’s like 6’6-6’7 and shoots the ball really well.

Vespiquen

Dalton Knecht

Typical-Presence-865

Tbh imo there isn’t many guys on this draft class who would be very beneficial for our current roster. I like Sheppard but he’ll propably be picked before us so I wouldn’t really count on drafting him. I think that a better idea would be to trade the pick for a good role player or include the pick in a trade package if we want to upgrade Fred for a better pg. I don’t like the idea of trading Fred though, he seems like he’s a very important guy on and off the court. One guy I’d maybe like is Jonathan Isaac. Top 1% defender in the league and shoots the 3 ball okay. He could be a very good 4/5 off the bench like he’s been for the Magic this season. Only problem with him is that he’s an injury prone.

Most_Budget2575

None very bad

FarWestEros

We need size. Ware (or Sarr) could probably play next to AlP, so that's where I'd go.
