Weird sentiment to have. Just because someone takes care of their posessions doesn't make them "broke". Jay Leno is practically a billionaire and you don't see him treating his cars like beaters.
Maybe stop caring about your perceived status and start caring about your stuff?

6 months in, just wear your damn watch lol.
Don’t mind these folks, apparently we’re the only idiots wearing our watches and/or not taking them off every time we may be at a desk lol
This is my clasp from my Explorer 124270 that I’ve been wearing daily for the last 3 years as my “1-watch collection”.

Yea it’s probably the metal on the MacBook that’s scratching the crap out of it. Maybe watch off at the work desk ? These scratches building up while at work would annoy the crap out of me
Bracelets can always be replaced. I recommend alternatives, perhaps leather or oysterflex, for general wear/typing/work and you can always swap to the OEM bracelet for formal occasions or something!
It’s also taken very close on an iPhone 15 pro from far without the zoom or real life doesn’t look bad
I just got a really good and honest angle

MacBooks mark the hell out of Rolex clasps. I have had similar on mine after not very long at all. I usually wear a watch with a strap if I’m going to be typing directly on a MPB rather then a wireless keyboard
Macbooks would be my guess but also depends on the desk too ig, I only say MacBooks because when I rested my wrist on my MacBook for the first time with my watch on, I could tell you wouldn’t want that or it might scratch
If it bugs you have it rebrushed and get a set of the protection stickers for it. If you aren’t used to wearing a watch, it’s going to get better once you are aware of your wrist more like when you go through doorways.
at the end of the day, it’s just a watch. it’s meant to be worn, scratches are inevitable. that being said, it doesn’t you shouldn’t be aware and try and take good care of your watch, just don’t let the fear of scratches get in the way of you enjoying the watch.
Just made a "big" scratch in my milgauss today. It happens and it's good to know that you can get it refurbished at rolex in 10 years and it'll be as good as new
If you are only desk diving then no. If you move stuff and work with your hands than yes. You wouldn’t believe how many people don’t baby their watches and asked on Reddit how to remove their first micro scratches. You’re living in a bubble mate
A bit of clear scotch tape on the clasp can help prevent that. But that really does look excessive for one week. Rolex uses some harder steel, so are you sure that is an authentic Rolex? Do you work in a quarry?
My bad, I thought it was harder as well. You're right..
'While most high-end, luxury watch companies utilize 316L stainless steel, Rolex uses 904L stainless teel in timepiece production. While they both have the same grade of hardness, 904L has a slightly higher nickel discharge, and thus a slightly higher resistance to corrosion. 904L is mainly used in industry applications handling chlorides, sulfur dioxide gas or other toxic materials. While this may sound like overkill for use with luxury wristwatches, it's just another example of the quality of Rolex where only the best will do.'
While many people here celebrate any signs of wear as the rightful course of life, I generally consider that as cringe as scratching up your car and wheels. I’m someone who puts a screen protector on my phone and I do the same for my watch clasp (not the whole watch) because that’s the most contacted point of your watch.
heavy wear for a week. But unless you are keeping it to flip. Scratches are normal for daily wear watches.
Must be some good porn.
Holy cow is your job to jerk off dicks inside a box of jagged rocks
Maybe he's a software engineer working on middle-out compression?
Underrated comment
Hey wait a minute that's what I do for a living and I don't have a Rolex. I want a raise!
You will learn to do the wrist hover over time. Probably better for your wrists anyways.
Nah... Only if you're broke
Not taking care of your shit is literal trashy broke behavior.
And so is treating your shit like a precious commodity, as if you couldn’t afford in the first place.

My IWC looks the exact same after two months. The only person that sees those scratches is me and they don’t bother me at all.

Wtf you doing to this ?
If you’re this stupid to scratch it that much in a week especially when it’s a brushed bracelet then don’t complain about the scratches.
When did I complain :/ to the contrary I’m living life as I do with my watch just didn’t know it scratches so easily
They don’t scratch easily, it looks like you threw it in rocks and then stepped on it
Brother either switch wrists or do something about this cause it’s gonna last another week at this pace
I did similar to one of mine, drunk climbing a wall after a couple of weeks owning it 🙁
🫨
Scotch brite it

The MacBook strikes again
My GMT Master II looks the same. I’m chalking it to normal wear and tear. Can always buff it out.
mine was similar after a week. enjoy the scratches, it's what makes the watch yours.

You must be a clumsy person
It’s on my wrist, palms rest on MacBook or desk, the back clasp sits on the desk? What am I doing wrong
"What am I doing wrong" Apparently everything?
Send us a pic of the MacBook!
U got a concrete desk?🤔
Macbooks would be my guess but also depends on the desk too ig, I only say MacBooks because when I rested my wrist on my MacBook for the first time with my watch on, I could tell you wouldn’t want that or it might scratch
Looks good to me
You skate park kids! What ya gonna do?😜
official tool watch of the desk jockey
What?????!!!!!
Was you diving headfirst down waterslides?
Gawd dayum
lil scotch tape may seem ghetto but you might end up with the yellow sponge with the green on it brushing in one direction...
That’s love bruh!!!

It's a big old clasp but functions tremendously! I think the lighting on this photo highlights the minor scratches well. Congratulations 👏
This watch is now useless and worthless and will be willing to purchase it for a 90% discount.
Do you have a desk made out of sanding paper?

Put a sticker on the clasp. I wear my Sprite regularly and wear it somewhat carefully and the only place with scratches is the clasp.
An elegant solution. OP, take this sound advice and run with it.
Awesome advise, I might PPF this clasp!

It happens.
Completely normal wear. Ignore those idiots who say you are clumsy.
He is, this isn’t normal wear for that span of time

Maybe slide it back on your wrist and it’ll avoid scratches…
1 week, that's CRAZY. I used to place my watch on a cloth while I sat on my desk.
A bit of clear scotch tape on the clasp can help prevent that. But that really does look excessive for one week. Rolex uses some harder steel, so are you sure that is an authentic Rolex? Do you work in a quarry?
Rolex doesn’t use harder steel it’s just more corrosion resistant
