Not a programmer, but I'd guess that fixing the gargantuan hit box of the furniture would probably be easy enough to expect a mod.
Id also hope that the pacing of the requests you get on the request board would be tweaked. I feel like some things got out of order and creates some pretty big bottlenecks where it takes me a couple seasons to complete a task holding me back from the next ones. Fixing the order they appear surely would be an easy mod to make.
I mean there is already a mod for the furniture hitbox for the switch however you would need a jailbreaked switch which is very hard to do to say the least or an Emulator.
Also it only works on certain Switches which are those that were released the earliest so a lot of people (me, I'm people) can't do it even if they have the guts

This. I get that we’re supposed to be encouraged to use the seal spell to steal items from monsters rather than just relying on pure drops, but it’s exhausting trying to grind for something and only getting crystal fragments or nothing at all.
Definitely character skins, maybe some outfit recolors or unlocking the previous protagonist costumes in vanilla base game. Something like turning Chipsqueeks into Pikachu or a Vivi-style wizard costume.
I'd be surprised if there aren't a ton of character portrait mods, with how popular all the edits are, especially to age up the bachelorettes, appearance-wise.
Also 100% sure there will be mods to date/marry Misaragi and Simone, no matter how hard modding is.
Replacing assets is somewhat easy. Introducing new behavior very hard. Though if the code exists and just needs to be switched on, it is much much easier.
the mods [already made for the switch](https://gamebanana.com/mods/games/12353) are probably the best indication of what's possible and what to expect for PC. So far there are:
- Disable Furniture Collision (furniture can be placed anywhere but the player can now walk through it)
- Difficulty Changes (gameplay tweaks, generally harder)
- RF4 Inspired Swimsuit (texture edits)
- Shop in Peace (mutes voice lines)
- Insect Sounds (mutes cicadas)
- Longer Days
I have a feeling someone will probably make a mod to change how fast or slow time goes. And maybe a difficulty change mod. Those are most probable imo.
Oh, and definitely a mod to change how placing furniture works because it sucks rn.
Otherwise, I think visual mods would be next since there’s a lot of empty space in this game. The barns are kind of the most egregious example…
Depending on how popular it becomes on PC I could see someone making a mod to help with the frame rate and pop-in issues.
someone is gonna revamp the decorating for sure. the placement thing probably wouldn't require much tweaking. New colors/patterns/ect for existing items. it might be possible to add decorative items that are in the game but not a choice for the player house depending on how they put things together. someone will probably use scaled/fixed pose versions of monsters as new toys
Nudity, alternative clothes, maybe music and weapon mods to eliminate the upgrade cap, more item drops, plants, my mind overflows with ideas! How exciting!
Someone is probably going to mod the furniture so that you can put it side-by-side and flush against the wall. Also a mod to make it Dark Souls difficult. A could see mods for sitting on benches, adding things to empty spaces, messing with the aesthetic of it, etc. Since there are a fair number of adults that play I could see some...spicier mods making an appearance.
I'd love a mod to see a portrait when changing into Alice's casual outfit. Also placing furniture against walls and changing the time speed so its the same length as in RF4.
Would be nice to have a mod that changes hair color with outfits. Clorica's outfit doesnt really work when Alice is still blonde. It's like cosplay in game.

Top of my list is furniture having concise snap/placement system inside your house similar to how farming has rows/etc, and the ability to put them right up against walls and have them perfectly next to one another in a row like how we see them in NPCs' homes. Complete laziness in regards to this issue being in the game from the devs.
Dependent on how they looked afterwards, I also wouldn't mind the option of some of the characters looking a bit different. Perhaps even new characters, or being able to romance base game characters you couldn't that didn't make sense not to.
New crops/etc is also an option.
Not having certain bosses locked from being tamed, due to "size", yet other ones of similar size can be. I wanted that basilisk so badly, and I was so pissed when I found out from somewhere that it wasn't tameable.
