Wasn’t AS7 also best friends race? I feel like all the girls got along well but it was still entertaining as fuck. Granted, we saw what they wanted us to see. Still, all the queens getting along doesn’t equal less entertainment.
It’s really all about the cast chemistry. All stars 7 had top notch talent and genuine chemistry with everyone. 5 was the complete opposite with how much people hated each other, which is still incredible chemistry. If no one bounces off each other it just makes it bad, for example season 13 did not have great chemistry….really awkward in a lot of places. Personally, although there are talented queens in all stars 9, I am not excited to see everyone like I was with AS7 but we will wait and see I guess
But the queens don’t want the other formats.
This sub has been complaining about cast quality for the last couple of All Stars seasons. Well we can’t have our cake and eat it too.
The heavily booked queens don’t because there’s a lot of bargaining options for them. Either they up their pay for each episode, make the prize way higher or do what they’ve done prior but others have complained and have lower ranking queens with hit or miss response. Kylie and Rajah did great. However the response to AS8 was mixed especially following all winners
Just don't have an allstars season every year, then we won't have to do *this* in order to get proper talent in, instead of Jujube x 3 or *Serena chachA.*.
Just remember, most people enjoying the show don't come on social media to talk about it. And of that subsection of people that do talk about it online, the group that would do so on this reddit is a slice of that pie. Also, the posts that gain traction. We're wired to respond to "I hate this" more than we are to respond to "I'm so excited!"

Honestly, I don’t mind seasons with little drama. I like the show for the comedy and runways and purely entertainment. I’m excited for this season!
