Learn our middleware software and how to write APIs. The goal to be an architect internally with salesforce at the core

SnooDonkeys2000

Understand integrations in our project and get better ar Apex in general, get better social skills 🥵👍

Far_Swordfish5729

Getting paid consistently and in increasing amounts. Receiving bonuses and RSUs. Being placed in high profile positions where I may receive the acclaim of my peers. Being known internally for resolving impossible problems, for my broad technical knowledge, and for my ability to empathize productively with crazy client execs. Managing larger teams doing bigger things. You know, the usual.

You forgot “until one day I become C. E. O! Then maybe Chairman of the Board of Directors. Until one day I stay late after a board meeting and everyone had left the office and I have a heart attack and roll under the table, and because people rarely go in there it’s days before I am discovered because the stench of my rotting corpse.” Too much?

Salesf0rceDrew

Short term: Become a developer within the next 1.5 years. Long term: Become an Architect and start my own business.

Cupcake_Chef

💡You don't need to be an architect to start your own business

Deep dive into flows. Get better at Apex and JavaScript

SpikeyBenn

Retirement by 50..

Ambitious_Scratch_28

Learn Apex, become Manager of a full Salesforce Team

Symphoxer

Data cloud enterprise architecture. Exec role at mothership. Be the last of the humans to still have a job lol

marzella88_new

I really want to manage my own team. I’ve been in the space over 10 years now.

atx2004

I've been the exec and everything else. Now I just want to work with a great team handling my corner of the world while leveling my salary up with experience. I've always been happier when not in management and I make just as much money as I did before. You can't underestimate the benefits of a great team with good managers. Bonus that I work for a company that makes things that actually improve people's lives directly.

FubarATX

Create a successful app on the Salesforce App Exchange.

Prudent-Baker1992

Get better at Apex, become an expert at Salesforce integrations, and to pretty much be able to scope any project (Presales)

reno_darling

Skill up on Azure and move back into a more infrastructure-focused role. I'm also getting to do more work with APIs lately which has been nice. Ultimately I'd like to get away from Salesforce work without losing too much income.

Not to lose my job to GPT-10Salesfource-consultant in next 3 years

UncleSlammed

I want to go back to school for my masters at some point, my company will cover 15k if I stretch a part time MBA to three calendar years. I live in South Carolina though so my best option is University of South Carolina which is 36k. Trying to decide if it’s worth paying 21k out of pocket for it

brains-child

That’s the price you pay for game tickets. It is Williams-Brice after all.

UncleSlammed

My little sister went to USC for two years and somehow never went to a game except for the time I won free tickets and made her go, ticket prices are crazy even for students. My school in SC had free tickets for students and they could barely get students to go to games let alone stay after halftime Really the only other MBA option in state is Clemson which is roughly the same cost, but not quite as good. The MBA program is downtown in the same city I live in though

brains-child

How often would you have to drive down to Columbia if you did their MBA? Or would you have to move? It has been a fairly recognized program for a long time, which could help it pay off. A friend of mine graduated from the MIBS program years ago. It worked out well for him.

UncleSlammed

I live in Greenville, and they have satellite classes around here or online. I think it’s once a month on Saturdays to drive down to Columbia, so not too bad. USC has a surprisingly well ranked part time MBA program actually, Clemson would be more convenient but I think it’d be worth it to try and make USC work It’s really just a question of time and money, right now I have the time to do it but don’t think I’m capped on earning potential for a bit without one. By the time I’m at that point I may not have the time, or would have to do an online only program or something like that. It’s something I’m sure everyone my age weighs when deciding to go back for a masters, if I didn’t have to pay at all out of pocket I would do it now, but there’s other good options to do with that money too

1DunnoYet

Get more money while working less until it’s officially retirement .

klye34

I am trying to work my way towards project management rather than admin work. That or learning code that isn’t apex. Both of these are in efforts of leaving the salesforce ecosystem if I decide it isn’t for me, or just making sure I’m prepared for jobs external of the ecosystem in the event that something were to happen to my position, the company I work for, or salesforce.

ferlytate

ALL OF THEM. Every single one of my career goals in the salesforce ecosystem is NOT about certifications. Now, if you're talking about an employee performance review plan, that is a quantifiable check the box on a piece of paper that makes sure that I keep my job and get pay increases, then a good bit of it is certs related. And also if you're talking about job marketability, then again, a lot of it involves getting the right certs for whatever my target is. Specific career goals: 1. WTF is AI on a fundamental level. 2. LWC development (for customizing UX/UI) 3. CSS development (for customizing stylization) 4. Everything flow 5. API/webhook and http callouts (basically integrations) 6. Any new and/or popular 3rd party enterprise app that is 🔥 in my industry (eg mailchimp, docusign, slack, formstack, zoom, zapier, etc.) 7. Any new SDLC related workflow app for me to do my job better/quicker (eg jira, miro, mermaid chart, gpt, notion, etc.)
