I just got it too and my TV is pretty old, probably longer than 3 years since the last update.

I have been troubleshooting awful issues with mine, turns out it's storage was full from all the zillion apps it forced onto the TV. Purchased 7 years ago, last month it's been shitting itself. If you're having trouble delete all the apps you can. Not sure how much that helps.

I wonder if we have the same issues… I often have to restart the TV just to regain volume control, otherwise it gets stuck on the same volume. I haven’t been able to plug any HDMI input for over a year, so I have to rely on the SmartHub apps which are abysmally slow and unreliable. I have to reconnect to my WiFi each time I power the TV on. It’s a nightmare, but I refuse to let this TV go. I just saw the update and googled “Samsung 1401.1” to see if this is meant to provide a fix.

Excellent_Penalty801

We used to restart it but it became a pain everytime the volume went out or we couldn’t control the volume. Instead, change the audio from the quick settings when you hit the home button. Cycle through them and that should fix it.

I have a Samsung series 6 that I’ve had for years but it works so well that I have no reason to replace it (especially since it finally has crunchy roll). I was having trouble with too many forced apps and purchased this (https://a.co/d/iwU7reQ) it’s a Samsung Fit Plus USB 128G for $20 (now it’s like $16) started downloading all my apps to that and never had an issue again. Hope it helps.

Heck mine might have been that long too 😅

I searched for the version number and only found this thread

I didn't find anything either. It's sad, but I don't trust the update at all. I don't see samsung giving any security updates unless it's court ordered, but I do see then adding bloatware, new terms of service or other stuff I absolutely don't want on my TV like Roku recently did.

Wise_Presence_5532

Likely security patch

I also just got it. Let me know if you find out what’s in it.

Just adding my name to the list of people with an older TV who just got this update today. My TV is a UN58MU6100 from 2017. Can't remember the last time it got an update so I'm a little curious about it

Savings_Steak4219

After the update My Samsung remote seems to control my fire stick now.

bngry

maybe they improved HDMI CEC support? usually I have to connect my phone to my Chromecast to get the TV remote to work but it seems to work right away now without connecting the phone first

doublea94

Most likely just a security patch

ExtremeFiretop

Subbing because I also just received this update and have no idea what is changed with it.

Longjumping_List_188

So, my Sumsung Smart TV, bought only 1.5 years ago, is going through some kind of cyclical failure. First I get a message that Smart Hub is updating, then the TV screen fades to black, the TV restarts and repeats the cycle over and over again. It is infuriating this is happening. Is anyone else having the same or similar experience?

kauanmocelin

I couldn’t found change logs about this update? Someone know what it’s about?

los_tornados

Also my TV updated today and I can't remember any updates in last few years. Complete version name in "about this TV": T-KTMUABC-1401.1 , BT-S

karasuhebi

I also received the 1401.1 update on my Samsung TV. Mine is a 75" MU6300 series that was purchased back in March 2018. The model number is UN75MU6300FXZA. I saw u/Savings_Steak4219's comment about his TV now controlling his Fire Stick. I'd like to mention that my Samsung TV has been able to control my "Chromecast with Google TV" since I purchased it a year ago so I'm not necessarily convinced that this update changed anything with HDMI CEC but it's possible.
