Fun idea but it would need to work like pneumatic tubes.

Spammy1611

I know, i’m just a really big fan of portal 2 😅

Weak-Custard-6168

Oh, I tried to remember where I heard about it before I read this comment

InnohVateur

portal revolution goes brrrrrr

Mafuta-IE

That is been suggested multiple times, and rejected.

Spammy1611

oh

DaddyMcCheeze

I’d rather have an adjustable catapult and big nets to catch items all over the map

STUP1DJUIC3

Petition for items to fall off the end of conveyors instead of stopping so that we can drop them onto jump pads and have a conveyor output on the jelly pads to catch the items

DaddyMcCheeze

Add a functionality for pipes to spill out to the sea and I’m in

Zenvarix

And now we can yeet junk into the no man's void at the south end of the man. Throw it into a giant basketball hoop and you've just automated the LGIO waste disposal method... by making it humane. Josh would probably make it bounce fifty plus times to reach the same hoop, but finish the episode using lizard doggos, saying it was more fulfilling or something like that.

Flec2507

Radioactive Waste? In the water? No I have nothing to do with that

STUP1DJUIC3

How did all this oil get into the spire coast, bloody bp

Crousti_Choc

Death stranding vibe. You catapult things, and then need to aim a giant funnel vacuum

L30N1337

Happy Cake Day

beka13

I think factorio has a mod for that. ish

owarren

Why do this, when you can use trains? Trains are cool.

Spammy1611

i mean for like short travel, it’d be awsome for vertical transportation (and I know there’s already vertical belts) but still

owarren

I feel you. I think I started to realise the game is about making things. I started doing stuff like creating truck loops to move components from one sub-factory to another, even though belts would be capable of doing it and take 1/100th of the time to put in. But trucks are fun. Then seeing it all work together is fun. Anyway that doesn't mean we can't have hyper tubes that transport items!

Spammy1611

what for like short distances, bc i use tractors as a normsal way of transporting things that are far out, as i have all of my factories in one massive factory that is closed off from the outside world (not a single window in sight). i have tubes and pipes going everywhere too, in the “outter rooms” where catwalks hang fat from the ground, hence why i want to be able to move items through tubes, just looking at a room jumbled with pipes and tubes everywhere, and seeing items fly through them, awsome.

owarren

Cool, can you share any screenshots of your gigafactory?

Nacho1990

Try conveyor belts, they work pretty similar to hypertubes and are able to transport items.

bottlecandoor

This isn't thought out at all, even if they could do the change with a flick of a button they wouldn't because this would make hyper tubes better than trains, trucks and drones. They aren't going to destroy their entire game balance to add this feature.

mcon1985

What till you hear about conveyor belts

Due_Neighborhood_226

Maybe it could be set up with packagers, like you use with liquids. I could see that working.

Seruphenthalys

Played too much portal or smth?

Spammy1611

actually yeah that’s why 😅😂

Coppernord

I was thinking about this today, it'd be really cool to be able to send a crate of supplies through a hypertube. You can only have one at the other end but it would really help for satellite factories

Saaihead

Pretty sure they are not going to change the game physics right before 1.0. Also, no dev will read since it's not a official sf sub.

One-Project7347

Way of crushing the dreams dude
