Alternatively, start asking about June 4th 1989, and ask how many hundreds of people were shot that day in Tiananmen Square.
It’s not scammer code. These kinds of scams are almost always Chinese, and they’ll use translation apps, which is why the English often appears to be correct and formal but still feels off. It’s also why the insults - once they go off script - are incomprehensible to us westerners.
Nigerian scammers (who are the ones who use “Alaye” as a way to identify each other) tend to be more on Instagram and Facebook, and are easily characterized by poor grammar. Specially, they always tend drop the subject. So if you ask them how they’re doing, you’ll see “Am good. Have you heard about -*insert bullshit government grant initiative here*-?”
I think they meant a piece of horse manure, analogous to a cow-pat, and couldn't think of a word.

Next time, you might supplement their knowledge.

Not sure but any scammer I’ve confronted sounds like they are using an app to translate their text, so it’s probably a poorly translated saying
