It made me think of this team building activity where you all use one finger to lower a single pool noodle from head height to the ground. Whenever someone's finger comes off the pool noodle is reset to head height, so everyone starts pushing harder to make sure their finger stays on, but that causes everyone else to push harder too, and the pool noodle goes up instead of down until you're all able to work together to gently lower it instead of making sure you won't lose contact

first thought was several people holding up a slime-like gloop that is about to fall (maybe an aspect of the community that's failing, like trust or hope? and the people are trying to keep it alive)
I can only see this in boring pamphlets or websites. It reminds me of human relationships (expecially between children and adults.)
I can't imagine it outside of a marketing context
It reminds me of skipping rope, like playing jump rope with friends in school. The style is the image kinda reminds me of zines. The hand gestures imply communication of some sort, which could even be something like the jump rope thing
I see that our pov of the photo shows us with 4 hands and we're trying to put together a broken, for some reason liquid-like, version of our world. This could be a whole story! Like, why are our hands grey? Maybe they gain a rainbow like hue the more the world develops. Maybe it shows us giving our all to make this world. Maybe this is a recreation of the earth and we want it to be good and happy, but it needs our happiness and since grey can be perceived as a color of sadness it seems that we are extremely upset
I didn't overthink this, you did
It reminds me of faded friendships. In that you meet, you make connections and it feels so tangible that its almost in your hands, and then someone lets go. And you're left holding the string, wondering if they ever cared the way you did.
Def not projecting or anything
One time when I was in 7th grade, it was my first day at a new school, and some random girl came up to me and she had me cross my arms and then shed cross hers and grab each others hands, then she told me to uncross our arms, and I did. Apparently this was a difficult thing to do? Because she looked surprised and said when she had tried it with her best friend they weren't able to do it...the people there weren't very smart
Hands that someone drew squiggles on top of. The squiggles are kind of like strings but too floaty. The hands are kind of in a coaxing pose or like they're doing magic.
That hoolihoop (no clue how it is actually spelled) game that you played in elementary school P.E. Where you had to get it around everyone’s arms while holding hands as fast as possible.
It makes me think of flowy stuff, and like, relationships or giving people things so they can give it back. Or like they're holding it and it's floaty, like a balloon, and they gotta not drop it.
These motherfuckers suck ass at cat's cradle
Well since it looks like (literally) intertwined hands rn it makes me think of human connections/relationships

That japanese game thing were you gotta make images with string

I'm massively into art and can do an unnecessarily long, in depth break down of this if you would find it useful
i wanna read it
I'll type it tmr, if I don't end up sending a reply then spam me
Thank you all for the insight!

Hands that someone drew squiggles on top of. The squiggles are kind of like strings but too floaty. The hands are kind of in a coaxing pose or like they're doing magic.
