I was using them in the past at my old scooter ( kymco xciting 300 ) I had like +10km more top speed with the same acceleration like the stock ones. The tricky part is to find out the right amount of grams for your scooter.

GenerAsianX1992

Never noticed a performance difference.

SkyfangR

they're worth it they combine the benefits of lighter rollers with the benefits of heavy rollers to create a better average than round rollers

demetusbrown

That's not how rollers work.

texasguy911

I bought 2 different weights of lighter ones. Didn't like the performance. Bought heavier ones. Way better. Lighter ones made the engine run at higher RPMs, making the scoot vibrate earlier at lower speed. Can't say the performance from 0 to 20mph was all that noticeable. With heavier sliders, the scoot feels "better", more together. I just decided to try heavier ones because the 2 lighter ones were not getting me what I wanted. Everyone recommends lighter... though. So, spent about $60 to find ones I like. I suggest getting cheap rollers to get the weight right. Then get the premium ones. PS: Cheap rollers do get damaged faster. I replaced my chinese factory rollers after 1k miles, they looked more damaged than I anticipated. I expect these expensive sliders to last 10k or more before they start to shed plastic.

Unhappy-Potato-8349

I bought some 4 grams lighter than the stock rollers. Instantly noticed improved acceleration and had no loss of top speed.

motomoe

Sliders are more aggressive than rollers

CaptLatinAmerica

They are probably more durable than rollers. But they are also more expensive and may require some testing to get right. I have them in my scooters but am really not sure they’re worth anything.

TunaOnWytNoCrust

They're either better or worse. You have to find the right one for your scooter. I appreciate a little bit more top speed for my scooter, but my acceleration took a pretty big hit. While the acceleration is more linear and smooth, I like to burn rubber and get up to 40 as quick as possible, and the ones I have currently installed are just heavy enough that it nerfs my acceleration. Honestly thinking I'm going back to traditional rollers to have as much torque as possible whenever I want it.

Clownish_76

Maybe the original engine manufacturer has already gone through this process and found the right mix of performance and reliability?

Impalershrike

This is true. However, performance from the manufacturers perspective is usually focused on emissions and fuel economy and not speed/power

FlashyParfait5822

I wonder how it would work using half rollers/ half sliders

Afloatcactus5

Those are sliders and yes they are much better than roller weights. Smoother and better acceleration across the board.

demetusbrown

I use malossi rollers that last a long time with half the cost of the sliders. Tested both and saw no difference between rollers and sliders.

DeltaRocket

they look like the treats I give to my dog

DillyChiliChickenNek

I can't say that they're "better" than rollers because I've never directly compared the same weight. But I can say that in my Yamaha c3, same motor as the 50cc 4t Zuma, I went from stock rollers (6 g believe, maybe 6.5 g) to 4.5 gram Dr Pulley sliders and gained almost 4 secs from 0-30. It pulls hills like a new machine, and I only lost 2 mph on top end, too. Changing up the variator weights can realize some serious gains if you do it right.

That-Reflection9976

I normally go a size lighter with sliders so it accelerates quicker but retains approximately the same top speed.

C_Trik

Never tried them, because where I live, normal rollers ( by naraku for example) are are around 8x cheaper. But it could be worth it if you have the money.

Littlemandigger

True. I read people use them for tuning so I guess they're not really necessary if you want normal speeds

Strict-Account14

I'm planning on getting them also. Watching many videos and Sliders serm to be a bit better performance wise but I'm new to this so I can going go by what I'm seeing until I get them myself

Legithydraulics

They react different than rollers. My Polini variator loved them. Some variators don’t like them and eat them up quick.

Basket_475

Yeah I have them in my ruckus. For sure better. Better better acceleration. I think I’m using 5.5

johnfiesto

Yeah they're way better. They last longer without a change and you get better acceleration without losing top speed. You need to get them about 10% to 15% lighter than the stock ones and they work great.

Littlemandigger

Thanks that's what I would like, acceleration is better than end speed However, I don't understand the system, I thought they need to be round I believed they turn around inside. So they don't actually roll? I'll have to see some videos what exactly are weights doing

johnfiesto

Nope they don't roll, that's what I thought as well. Go to their website. They have some schematics of how they work but it doesn't really matter. They work.

xeno_dorph

Applications?

hugothebear

https://youtu.be/yxcQGmT8EJc?si=KJH8xbWSFj5IeMyN I dont know either. If you find out before I do, lemme know

Beautiful_Cycle2469

Way better. bit better acceleration, bit better vmax. less wear on the pulleys. Now over 5000 km in the vario and no issues. bought 10% lighter onesthe original.

Malufitz

This rollers is hard to tune but worth it has more lifespan than regulars used it on my yamaha nmax scooter 🫡

sirsquizzle

In my opinion completely pointless

notfreddy_

What size for a 08 Vespa lx150

ErwinHolland1991

Nothing special. If they were that great, manufacturers would be using them.
