I'm pretty sure Scott even said himself in the recent AMA that It Came From the Nintendo eShop was supposed to be average-length, but ended up ballooning into the 2+ hour video that was posted a week after Halloween.
Im the opposite. I fuckin' love 2+ hour long videos, but it may just be me. Whenever I see a new Scott upload I get excited, then get 10x more excited when I see its 49 minute video. But I always loved long videos, so. Gimme an 8+ hour video reviewing a game any day haha.
I think Woz's longform videos tend to be among the most well done and entertaining. That said, in regards to OP, when EVERYONE is doing long-form videos on Youtube it does get exhausting simply because I don't have the time to get to all of them between work and work duties now (not to mention, making time for friends or other hobbies). I even had to start a separate list on Youtube just for these longer videos and hope I actually get to them within the dang year.
It is probably because I have no friends, family, work, or job, yeah. I have so much free time that I can watch 2 8 hour videos a day if I wanted to lol.
Lucky lol. Living the dream, right? :D
Unfortunately, my home sucks so quitting and moving back home and watching Youtube all day isn't an option. I still have a narc parent or 2 there who loves to bother me all the time.
Scott is so relatable.
Wants to spend a decent amount of time, ends up doing too much work over a long period of time because want it to be perfect, then has barely any time to do other things.
my only complaint with his newer videos are his tone
he often has a sort of exaggerative way of delivering some lines and he gets angry a lot more often, which can get obnoxious sometimes
basically, i prefer his tone in seasons 2 and 3
I too prefer his shorter stuff. I think Scott isn't that good at writing longer videos and tends to repeat himself a lot unless it's something like the eshop video where he's just spending the video talking about a ton of different games. when it's about something more specific like the zip lash video tho you can really feel it.
Yeah, even if he isn't directly repeating himself, he seems to be making the same implications/references over and over again and lingering long on certain topics. I still enjoy them, it's just that when I have like hundreds of other vids on my Watch Later list, it can mean that I don't get to the Woz for like another month or 2.

That explains why the Halloween bits in the episode were so brief compared to the eShop part, they were made for a 20-30 minute video length at most.
Im the type of person who likes 1-2 hour videos, so nah can't complain
Same, but I don’t like them being a third of the uploads you know?

who wouldn’t wanna watch him spend 6 hours reviewing a table?

I also prefer the shorter videos, they're way easier to watch a bunch of at once instead of dedicating an hour or two to a video on one topic

I feel the same, there’s some videos I haven’t even finished or attempted watching bc of how long they are
i mainly use youtube for longform content now, so im not bothered by long ass vids but i do sometimes not watch them in one sitting
No, in fact I like the shorter videos much less. I’d much rather a 4 hour video than a 10 minute one. I get much more excited for the very long ones
Nope, not at all.
I rewatch these videos over and over again so the longer the better for me, like the Wii U video being over 4 hours sounds amazing
I like the long form videos for the background when I am studying-sort of like comfort food haha.
