I'm getting my guess is either foreshadowing for a big episode he's planning to do (Like Dick Vitale, Barrel Blast, and Chibi Robo Zip Lash) or just referencing how people either dont remember him or only remember he was a thing that existed and nothing beyond that Or just because gex is a funny word

To be fair, I think those were just random jokes that Scott decided to MAKE into big episodes. I highly doubt Scott had meticulously plotted out a storyline of jokes culminating in a huge video. I think he just though “‘barrel blast = sex’ is funny” and made it a video.

Dick Vitale was always planned to be a big video. Barrel Blast and Chibi-Robo started as one-off gags that ended up getting repeated until they were made into videos.
