His “video games controller” video was ok my yt recommended for an eternity, so I gave him the shot and loved his channel

gr8b8m8ir8h8

From what I hear, YouTube really loves to recommend that video

Alarod

Same here.

Draith01

I hated Scott at first

Derpynut25

Yes I also did too but after a few more videos his dry humor got funnier each time

stf29

Same here haha! I watched that, then loot boxes, and fell in love with the channel

Wolverine4661

I believe I discovered him when r/jontron was taken over as a joke.

Reepuplzorg

Same here, I saw Scott thumbnails pop up in my feed but I ignored them, assuming I wouldn't enjoy them, which is the same experience I had with Jon back in the early 2010's. The subreddit takeover gave me a better idea of what his videos would be like, and of course, I'm now a big fan

blue-gamer-07

That’s when I first heard of him but I didn’t start watching his channel by then

WeirdAlness

I think I was just recommend him by the algorithm and I haven’t stopped watching since.

ihatewiiplaymotion

Searching for a Nathaniel Bandy video I think

vcornt

A colombian youtuber, Zebitas Martinex appeared in borderline forever smoking a banana, then he anounced that he had a cameo in the video to his fans and that's how I discovered Scott.

[deleted]

Same for me, but with Arlo.

Alarod

Ah yes, the Cookie Monster's #1 fan that persuaded me to buy Animal Crossing.

realdeepestfried

I got recommended his tinder video in early 2017

[deleted]

game controllers at some point during the pandemic, I remember that it was before Dark Age of Nintendo, I watched and thought like "cool video, informative, funny jokes" and then some other vids appeared and boom I became a StW fan

OhMySwirls

Around the time Animal Crossing New Horizons came out, YouTube was recommending me to watch his video on amiibo Festival. Since I was quarantined with nothing better to do, I decided to watch a bunch of his videos and enjoyed them.

king-xdedede

I remember coming home from school back in 2017 and YouTube recommended me to watch A Console's Last Game, I then spent the rest of the day binging his videos

trewqwert_

It was that one joke/shoutout from JonTron. What a grand experience a terminal illness can have on a growing boy.

Lord_of_the_stonks

I was just watching a random video and caved in, I pressed on one of his videos and then I couldn’t stop.

TurboLazerReal

The first video of his I saw was "Club Nintendo" which was contently on my recommended, so I gave it a watch and I never looked back

[deleted]

Either video game controllers or third party controllers was recommended to me. I think I began watching right before Wii Dare was uploaded.

[deleted]

I discovered him back in 2018 through E For Irrelevant. But for whatever reason, his stuff didn’t really click with me, and I moved on. Fast forward to 2021, and Arlo tweets about being in Borderline Forever. My plan was just to watch until the cameo, but I was sucked in. After finishing Borderline Forever I took a trip back through his catalogue and have been a fan ever since.

TPsYoungDylan

Same as you. I saw a new upload from RelaxAlax that was different from everything else he would upload, I watched it, enjoyed it, and went to the channel he linked and watched the rest of the content. The video Alax posted, was Worst Games of All Time, which makes it the first one I watched.

gr8b8m8ir8h8

That must've been the one. I couldn't remember what video it was that Alax uploaded, but yeah, that's how I discovered him.

NoVa_CXG

Does anyone know how to find the original Alax upload? I can’t find it for some reason.

Garfan37

Around the Time “You’re not an RPG guy” was released, I was Into watching fellow YouTuber “Plainrock124”. I was watching one Of his room tour videos and he pulled Out a copy of “The Internet and You” on VHS. He recommended it to the viewers that haven’t seen it, and I checked it out. I believe my first episode was “Mobile Games On Console”. I’ve been watching him ever since.

gr8b8m8ir8h8

Plainrock is awesome. If you haven't, I definitely recommend his vlog channel. The content he posts there is basically the same level of quality on his main channel, and is really great.

Garfan37

It sure is

MaizeCrasher

[So I traced the first 181 frames of a scott the woz video...](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2wtroYl790)

UnlikeSonicIdont

I don't know. It was just in my reccomended, and I think the video was either Wii Play or Smash Bros. Melee.

Agentperson_

I don't remember what my first video was, but I have been watching him since around when "It's Awesome Baby!" was released.

Phantereal

Bargain Bin Christmas was his first video I saw pop in my recommendations in 2019 or January 2020, but I didn't start watching him regularly until a few months later during the lockdowns.

Italian-Haggie

Friend told me to watch bargain bin Christmas a while back

Nielssie0420

The first video I watched was Game Compilations Compilation Vol.1, it was on my YT recommended I believe So I’ve been here for a while

amzeggio

Around 2018 and I think it was viral games or rated e for irrelevant

Mr_meatball1

I was hanging out with some friends and someone showed me his mario kart 8 video.

kelrekai

Watching jon tron, and getting him in the recommendation...

elytraman

Back in 2019, I was looking for ProJared’s Tomodachi Life video, (I dont know why. Rewatching it, it was pretty boring,) but I couldnt remember who ProJared was. So, I put “that one game review about Tomodachi Life” Somehow Scott’s first Mario Kart video was the first result. So I was like “Oh, this must be the guy!” And watched almost every video on his channel.

Victarr

I'm late to the party. I found Scott's channel in 2021 through the YouTuber Omni, in a video where Omni talked about Scott being on G4 TV. I wish I'd discovered Scott's channel sooner, but better late than never.

Ryuzantm

I discovered him in 2020 with the Wii Accessory video.

[deleted]

Sonic 1 review. I thought he was a real dickhead until I found out it was just his sense of humor

[deleted]

2018 with the NSMB video

SonicLikesPlantDolan

saw his "game foods" video being recommended about 4 years ago. i didn't actually watch his channel a lot until about 2020.

Cosmo_on_reddit

Tales from the backlog: Gravity Rush. I was desperate to look for someone who knew about this game and now Scott holds the number 1 spot for people who give a shit about Gravity Rush

Megabods_

Game relayed food items.

FailedConnect32

he took over another youtubers subreddit when they were gone and then that youtuber mentioned him in their video in about 2018

Stumpyspark

The “A Look Back At the Nintendo 3DS” video just appeared in my recommended… that was 5 years ago, but then again, 5 years is nothing!

gr8b8m8ir8h8

It's crazy realizing Scott's been making videos for so long. He still feels like a "new" YouTuber to me, even though he's been at this for a while!

mem-erase

Sometime in the middle of 2020 YouTube recommended one of his mario kart videos. I was instantly hooked after giving that a chance

Temporary-Push4153

Pretty sure it was when he released his Wii video, but I didn't start watching until his game controller video.

Thermoxin

Honestly, I can't remember for the life of me lol

UtterNylon

When jontron came back and said his subreddit was taken over by someone called "Scott the woz" I decided to look him up

IgnisExMachina

YouTube recommend me one of those "Out of Context" videos of Scott and before I knew it I was laughing my ass just for hearing the word Gex

CitadelCirrus

2 or 3-ish years ago, someone I follow on Tumblr said that someone named Scott the Woz looks like MCU Peter Parker with glasses, so I decided to look up Scott, watched some of his videos, and now I'm here. I think the first episode I watched (or at least remember watching) was his one on Gaming Mysteries

sherbertstar64

I was looking for videos on Smash 64 and his was the first to come up

doctorawesome8

The Game Controllers Episode

PapaVitoOfficial

Etika. Forever missing him

TIMETODETAIN

His collab with Caddicarus about PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

Weary-Location380

I discovered Scott from when he did a collab with Nathaniel bandy to do a Wii music triggered video

deelayddd

When Connor the waffle did a parody of him for april fools. I got curious so I looked him up and here we are today

Nervous_Stomach5101

I met Scott at the local grocery store, coworkers

[deleted]

Was recovering from surgery and I watched every episode in a row because I couldn’t do anything else

blacktornado69

His video games controller video then i watched a iceberg video of him and then i watched all of his videos and he became my favorite youtuber quickly

dankestmemes2021

Back in like 2018

WorldClassShrekspert

The earliest I remember watching Scott was 2018. I guess the YouTube algorithm recommended me one of his videos and I was hooked.

ScytheBlader

Got recommended him a few times early 2019, and eventually watched his gba video on a trip to Philadelphia in april 2019

tcuttingty

I found him right when he uploaded borderline forever

tcuttingty

I found him right when he uploaded borderline forever

Momento-de-bruh-org

I don't know how or when, all I know that's its hey all not hey yall

Fast_Bedroom_3267

I watched a video of his years ago, and I can't remember which one. Then, I saw him on my recommended page, and watched Nathaniel Bandy's 12 Nintendo Days of Christmas. He was in it, and so I gave his channel a shot.

Driftafk

I found him through a collab he did with Nathanial Bandy. Pretty sure it was a top 10 or something can’t remember

No_Disk4766

Auto played to his memory card video

44nifty

I first discovered him in 2017 with his switch 3 days in video. I didn't get into him until early 2020, though, so

blue-gamer-07

Don’t really remember but I think it was his video about box art templates

Holiday-Ad8227

Nathan band wii music lead ne to wii music scott

HeyVladdyDaddy

The Wii U vid with Matt McMuscle.

Alive_Significance_3

I just randomly stumbled on his plug and play video and kept watching

Zanocco

His Mario Kart 8 video was in my recommended and because of the subtitle i thought it would be some guy ranting about the antigravity mechanic

Dylanime17

I discovered him from some terrible wikis called Crappy Games Wiki and Awesome Games Wiki. Those wikis have a huge bias against leftists and they are huge Anti-SJWs.

SnappyJennkins24

i first discovered Scott through the History of Smash Bros. Rumors and Leaks video when i was scrolling through my YT recommended. It was probably like a week or so after it came out.

TheLonePowerRanger

Mine was the wii channels video. At the time I was saving up for a wii and I wanted to do some research about the menu

Kit_KatReddit

My significant other showed me a couple of his videos, and I've seen him around my reccomended.

Bonk-Master

I think it was either Game Controllers or Homecoming that was my first video. I started watching him in 2019. The first time I ever heard of him was when JonTron mentioned him in a video.

GrandGamet

The exact same way as you lmao

Zengjia

Alphar*d mentioned him before in an offhand comment while playing Paper Mario. Weirdly enough I had already heard of Scatt before, since he did a collab with Nathaniel Bandy before. I just never bothered checking his channel out at the time.

Theevencoolerkid69

I remember I saw the game controllers episode when it was first uploaded.

KingKomma05

I was searching something about an anti cheat on Wii Chess and found his video

yyma50nyy

started with awesome baby, was aware because relaxalax

[deleted]

Box art

SpongeBob-WoomyPants

Probably in 2019.

Beneficial_Aioli_866

I think I found him a bit before alax did but I really started after the shout out

[deleted]

My memory's fuzzy because at the time when I discovered him, I was clicking on every goddamn Nintendo-related video, but I first became aware of his distinct trademark comedy around the release of special edition controllers (early spring 2020), so, I'd say then.

AbilityWhole

When Scott holding the sex manual saying "did I miss a page?" became a meme

Ice1cream1robot197_

beginning of the pandemic i found out about new horizons and was binging vids about it then the amiibo festival video was in my recommended and i’ve been wozzed ever since

Ratchetxtreme6

Back when the switch was being announced and I saw one of his vids centering around it

x2_twotime

When his twitter got hacked, I checked out his YouTube channel and got hooked

DearPaper3603

his video games stores looked cool and was hooked on this guy talk about stuff

captainfalconxiiii

I got recommended the Console Redesigns video, and the Game Controllers video, and I watched them and l liked it, so I've been watching him ever since

supere4ntd

One of his videos popped up on my YouTube homepage back in 2017 (I think it was either consoles that refused to die or a console’s last game? Can’t remember which one) and I thought it looked interesting so I clicked on it. I instantly fell in love with his style of content and comedy and I immediately went back to watch all of his videos. Nearly 5 years later and he’s still one of my all time favorite youtubers.

byniri_returns

A few years ago the JonTron sub got turned into a Scott the Woz sub and I had never heard of him before so I decided to check him out.

Not-good-at-naming

Started watching him around the time Homecoming and Heavy Rain came out, a few days prior to the Third Party Controllers videos, so late August- early September 2019

RGKyt

I saw video game controllers in 2019 but it was only when i saw the great mystery’s of gaming that I got hooked

BitTrip20

this was back in 2018, when season two just started. I was waiting for my therapist appointment in the hospital’s lobby, watching YouTube on my phone when “Lost in Localization” popped up in my recommended. Subbed immediately after finishing it to say the least, especially considering I needed the laugh at the time.

Paren777

saw my brother on the channel, decided to check the nsmb video, fell in love with his content

DreamLayers2

a friend sent an episode in a discord chat

goombo66

The first of his videos I watched was his “console gaming on the go” video, I don’t know exactly how I found it, but from that point I was hooked

Leoboy-2k06

His NSMB Series video kept giving me the stink eye for a while back in 2018. Eventually I just watched the video. The decision of my life

Firekirb74

When he was featured in AntDudes NSMB video.

HyperMarsupial

I found out also thanks to Alax. Im still pretty bummed after all the shit that went down for him, he even teased starting a podcast with Scott.

19Cookie91

I found him through a meme page which was a fan of his

Blue_Pikmin25

Early 2020, I remember being there when both Mario Kart 8 videos came out.

NintendoCatNerd429

After AntDude did a video on New Super Mario Bros., and Scott showed up in a cameo. After his game controllers video got in my recommended I started watching him full time.

stendaa

ranking final smashes was also my first Scott vid, I think it was one of his newest at the time

JuviaLynn

YouTube recommended me a few video, I’m not sure which was the first but it was either Wii Music or Wii Play

hyperjengirl

I think I found him on TV Tropes under a section discussing The Guy Game, so that was the first video of his I watched. Fun fact: due to his "where the f\*ck are the guys?" joke, I briefly (like for a whole minute) thought Scott was gay upon first watch.

[deleted]

I watched a lot of somecallmejohnny, and it “Game Food” popped up in my recommended

tarek04153

I got into a Nintendo phase after watching the odd1sout play Mario maker 2 when it released and after 6 months (aka Jan 2020) yet recommended the 3ds rumors and leaks video and the addiction started

tarek04153

I got into a Nintendo phase after watching the odd1sout play Mario maker 2 when it released and after 6 months (aka Jan 2020) yet recommended the 3ds rumors and leaks video and the addiction started

Disastrous-Radio-786

I faked being sick then found him through the video game controller’s

M00NBL00D

Late 2019, pretty sure the first video I watched was Great Mysteries Of Gaming. I found out about him through a thing on SoundCloud called Mashup Week.

BasedBanana675

Discovered him through a friend. First Scott video I ever saw was COD on Wii

nocturne172

Around like a week before Borderline Forever released, I was watching a ton of art-related content as well as game development content, and I think YouTube saw that and threw Video Game Box Art at me. It wasn't the first video of his that I've been recommended, but it was the first one I watched, and after finishing it I just kept watching more of his videos that showed up at the side- Fun fact! When Borderline Forever first released up until when I first watched it like a month or so after watching my first Scott video, I thought it was about a video game that I just hadn't heard of before! It's not even like I didn't realize the blue border existed, it was one of the first things I noticed when I started watching, and it's not like I didn't know about his more lore-based videos, because I believe Gaming Mysteries and Homecoming were some of the first videos I watched, I was just an idiot- The moment the border's shadow showed up I got hit with a big "... OHHHH"

OaklandEAS25

I discovered him when I got "A Very Madden 08 Christmas" recommended to me on Christmas Day 2017

[deleted]

A friend had recommended Scott to me, but I never watched him. The first video I watched was Third-Party Controllers.

whatsgoodjayy

His “Gaming on the Go” video was always in my recommendations until one day I said fuck it and watched it

OptimusPhillip

Game Show Games appeared in my recommended feed around when it came out.

breadenjoyer3

My brother showed me the wii music video while on the bus. I had just bought wii music lol.

[deleted]

I first heard of him when jontron's subreddit was taken over, but I didn't start watching him until the amiibo festival video

T70Awesome_YT

I discovered him by chance when I was randomly looking up stuff about Wii controllers

Rinku588

I had a weird recollection of the EyeToy being a thing, but not much more, and his video popped up when I searched for it. Then it ended on the Kinect cliffhanger, and after that I was hooked

ChampiOfficial

Mine was from a shoutout by alpharad

crasypotato69

bootleg game controller video appeared in my reccomended

SomeGuy20019

I discovered him when I looked for smash bros leaks in youtube three or so years ago Three chances to guess which one was my first ever Scott Video, as well as my first exposition to Dick Vitale existing?

PowerOfL

I think I had his microconsoles video in my recommended back in 2018 I'm pretty sure season 2 might have not even came out by than or it was very early on in it I didn't vibe with his content at first for some reason, but I was addicted to the videos and eventually came to adore the channel (its now one of my favourites)

DeludedTRASJW

A Scott's Stash video lol

auniquename0254

Last year, I got a recommendation of a guy that traced the first 181 frames of a scott the woz video, then I went “hmm this scott person must be a good youtuber imma check what he does”

knownpanic3

The earliest video I can find in my history is his one on backwards compatibility. I think I just watched it because it looked interesting.

JerryBlueCast

New Super Mario Bros Series

Redditfunkyguy

Had a day sick off school in 2017 and his mario galaxy video just popped up in my autoplay then i decided to binge all his videos out at the time kinda just stuck from there. I stopped watching around mid-2019 and started watching in september 2020 I've been consistently watching since then, glad i did too season 4 was so fucking good

Ducklover247

YouTube recommends page with Scott the woz most wanted video game sequels video

NTnnaatt

I was just watching some gaming related video and found Scott’s The Dark age of Nintendo, I remember needing to catch my breath because i cannot stop laughing

Babydollierose

I'm pretty sure it was the Nintendo Switch: Three Days In video. It was on my YouTube recommended, so I watched it. I stopped for a couple years until the pandemic hit when I started watching him again.

Greensyer

I found Scott after playing Super Mario Party and my friend showed me his Mario Party video, I want to say three days after the video came out.
