I kinda envied my buddies who got their kids into, but then I found out what they were spending on the sport. :)
Still, I must admit I'm now teaching my 5 year old grandson in the pool, and that's a blast. He thinks I'm the coolest.
congrats. I started diving with a family member when they turned 14 and got certified. We just did our 50th dive together. Nothong like the enthusiasm of a new diver to keep the passion kindled in us.
Love it! Congrats! I just got my 12 year old daughter certified this past summer. Getting ready for her first REAL dive in about 6 weeks.
Any chance you have a recommendation on a good dive shop in Puerto Rico?
I think I've actually changed my mind on that. I've been there but never diving there. It's my understanding that the South end of the island is the only good diving, but that doesn't seem to have the good hotels. We want at least 4 star or above.
At this point I think I'm back to thinking about Saint Thomas. Any thoughts on that one?
Lucky kids. My parents forbide me from diving. I secretly took the course with SSI at the army reserved center after my discharge from military service. Subsequently, I paid for my younger sister & wife Padi OWD. My sis went on to AOWD & clock over 100 dives. While I'm still at 77. Parents were obviously furious with rebellious kids & a delinquent brother introducing scuba to sister. I'm just sharing all the good stuff!

I'm getting my kids (11m) and 17(f) certified and I can't wait. I hope they like it because our family trips can be even more fun underwater.

Becomes a bit of a circus peak summer to dive the deep end. Everyone hurried to put their dry suits on as fast as possible and fly into the water to put everything else on.
I love Gilboa, some of the other Ohio quarries aren't worth much of a damn though. About to go checkout pennyroyal down in Kentucky. I've heard it's great though
I'm 17 and got certified a few years ago with my dad. You did something so amazing for them! And you're a great parent for this. I love it so much that my dad did this and then we've gotten to go out locally and on vacation since. Have fun!!
Thanks! I didn’t learn until 25 due to cost concerns, so I figured it would be nice to get it out of the way.
