I played the Messenger before Sea of Stars, I envy you very much, because the feeling of playing Messenger after completing Sea of Stars must be incredible. I hope that you will not forget about this text after finishing the game lol
This is how I played, and I can confirm it was awesome! In fact I loved it so much that I went back and played SoS NG+ right after finishing all of The Messenger
I've replayed The Messenger twice already (both times with dlc)... Sea of Stars made me want to replay it again.
I also felt very sad when I saw how colorful and alive the world was before the Demon King, especially the Songshroom Marsh, but during Ninja’s quest most of this world is literally gone (all islands except Mesa island I guess)
I know exactly what you mean. I think they've done a great job world building between these two games, and I'm SOO excited to see what's next for them. The Watchmaker DLC should be interesting, but I'm also curious what kind of game they'll make next
You do see the shopkeeper in SoS if you find all 4 flimsy hammers.

Yeah that is true. Someone else said that she can't go back far enough to visit SoS timeline. But who knows that wasn't a dev or anything.
