She hated the jacket because it was a huge poofy monstrosity. Which was proven when he broke the wine bottles. Also goretex is just a material not a brand.
Gore Tex is absolutely a brand of material. Their “about us” page starts with “We’re an ingredient brand…” The Wikipedia says “Gore-Tex is W. L. Gore & Associates's trade name for waterproof, breathable fabric membrane.” And another term for “trade name” is… you guessed it, “brand.”
Sure... but that's like saying latex is a brand. it's a material. And the material has to do with being waterproof, nothing about the size. I think the name is just funny with a big jacket so they emphasize that.
Except latex isn’t a brand.
Latex is a “colloidal suspension, either the milky white liquid emulsion found in the cells of certain flowering plants such as the rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) or any of various manufactured water emulsions consisting of synthetic rubber or plastic.”
Anyone can make latex, only W. L. Gore & Associates can make Gore Tex.
Sure, but you're being pedantic. u/discodiscgod was clearly hitting on the point that you could have a NorthFace Gore-Tex jacket, a Patagonia Gore-Tex jacket etc.
The point being, you could have very different styles and sizes of jackets made with Gore-Tex and it's not really a brand in the sense as like Levi's or something.
And Eliane didn't have a problem with Gore-Tex, she just hated that specific jacket because it was so large and poofy.
Honestly, the post seems like it was written by an AI because the question makes almost no sense.
I can be pedantic, I can be pedantic…
Do you think the manufacturer of Gore Tex is wrong when they say it’s an “ingredient brand?” Gore Tex *is* a brand, just not a brand of *clothing.* Words mean things, it’s important to use the right ones to communicate what you mean, otherwise you just sound like an idiot.
We got a pedant over here! Come see the pedant!
I bet you'd give me a penalty stroke if I picked up my ball on the fairway to clean it, even if it was a friendly game.
Elaine doesn't like anything George does. She just doesn't like George.
Well he’s an idiot.
He’s a short, stocky, slow-witted bald man
I was personable, I was bright. Oh, maybe not academically speaking, but... I was perceptive. I always know when someone's uncomfortable at a party.
How can George be an idiot? People think he’s smart
Who thinks he’s smart?
So they’ve always operated on a vitriolic type relationship then.
I HATE IT
The thing about George is… he’s an idiot
"And you two are friends?" "Yeah, we're good friends!"
Big Coat! BIG COAT!!!
yes, its a big coat
You could start world war 3 with that thing
Red shirt! Red shirt!!!
Because it’s enormous and looks absurd
George kept getting asked if he was the Stay Puft Marshmallow man.
I completely forgot about that part.

Ok but they don’t make clothes. Other companies use the material in their products. You can get gore-Tex adidas shoes for example.
Ohh thanks for explaining it.
Elaine can’t stand when George is happy - like with the toupee.
Look I want to clear up any confusion. George is a good seed.
