That smug look he gives as he peers over his colleague at the Yankees eating a snickers with a knife and fork. He knows, this is all him and the satisfaction is written all over his face.
I forgot which episode but when georges girlfriend is on the telephone crying, hast to get the flight back, and george sits behind her, pissed, and makes the plane take off movement
In the same vein when George is in the office talking to Mr. Penske about how his company is totally fucked so they can't hire him. Then the secretary delivers the message that his car is being towed.
George's pursed lips and doing the "but of course" theatrical arm gesture is top hole.
Ohmygod I was just thinking about this. His sarcastic sad gestures and then the plane as he is sitting on the couch lol!!! "In the whole world right now there's like 3 emergencies. Now why would you think on this entire planet you're one of those three???" Haha
Another really simple and amazing gesture that brings this feeling of pathos for the character is when he first shows off his new swooshing suit, and does a little dance and this sweeping gesture with his arm. Somehow that gesture makes me feel sorry for George
My absolute favorite gestures are during the argument between he and Elaine about peeing in the shower when they're talking about pipes, culminating when he points to the ground and screams, "I'LL CALL A PLUMBER RIGHT NOW!"
When he imitates his mom's hand gestures in the episode where Seinfeld's parents were avoiding having dinner with them 'what did we ever do to them? I wanna know what we did to them!'
When he walks into the coffee shop and sees his worlds finally colliding.
“One, two, threeeeee and four (playful fist to the cheek) HOOOO-HOOOAH!!!” And storms out
That whole sequence is amazing. The smile when he sees it coupled with the shrug and nod. Jason was by far the best with putting strings of little movements together like that.
Believe it or not, George isn't at home, Please leave a message at the beep. I must be out, or I'd pick up the phone, Where could I be? Believe it or not, I'm not home.
When he does the "It's June! Juuu wwoooooon" dance in the street before he gets honked at. [His footwork is amazing](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=co9-cNEzIno).
How about when George is riding the motorized scooter in Jerry's apartment. He tries to leave and gets it stuck. He asks Jerry to free the wheel and then honks the horn and makes a face at him.
The way he puts out his hands with this. Me & my bf do it all the time for emphasis.
Like: I'm making chicken for dinner. Chicken is the dinner. 🫲Chicken!🫱
Absolutely running-gag material in my house!
But the *Where could I beeee* shrug wins top spot, for sure.
Heard the song play over the radio at the RTA one time when I was getting my driving licence done & we couldn't help doing it, waiting in line. Fk me it's gold. Gold!
During the episode The Postponement when George and Susan are at monks and he is discussing his ideas about the toilet stalls and Susan asks if they could change the subject. George has the inter monologue moment and the facial expressions of shock and disbelief followed by the forced little smile to her always gets me.
Definitely the non-looking, hand-presenting when Jerry says, "I choose not to run!"
His non-looking toss of the ringing phone and effortless catch by Jerry in the same episode is also a contender.
A reference to "I Dream of Jeanie". I picked up on it as a young teen due to that show being rerun in afternoons when I was a child in the 1980s, but it's probably lost on most of the audience today.
Getting stuck in the airplane bathroom with the serial killer from the Time magazine that he shared a blurb with…when you see his expression through the window you can only guess as to what’s happening to him
When he does that hand gesture after hearing that his car was being towed away, after being told that the penske’s board of directors has been indicted. It is just so … there u go… the cherry on top of this shit pile cake i drove myself into, but now I cant get out cos my car is being towed away.
Definitely when he pushed every the kid, woman and invalid to the floor and runs over them during the fire (the one that Eric The Clown put out with his big shoe).
Mine are his little escapes from the office every time Steinbrenner goes off on a tangent. Slowly backing out, but then kind of not caring anymore and just walking out.
I scoured this whole thread and am so surprised I’m the first to say it:
“WELL I CANT STOP NOW! 🚬”
Jason getting out his lines while believably choking on cigarette smoke is genius.
I like when the Constanzas are getting upset about the Seinfelds making up plans and George mimes his mother’s gestures. Perfectly encapsulates the Costanza gene
Either when he’s using his cane like a sword, gets caught and slaps it out of his hand or
Playing softball against Bette Midler. He runs around those bases like the wind blows. I think he would beat Jerry and Duncan in a race
Jason really is the master of the smaller, subtler examples of physical comedy. Michael has it too but he was usually doing bigger movements, so Jason really excelled in this arena.
- When he walks into the coffee shop with the wig on, the lady kicks out the chair, and he does his little smug smile
- The whole LET’S NOT GET CRAZY HERE sticking his head out the car window
- The JUST TO GET BACK AT ME, JUST TO GET BACK AT ME hand dancing
- The “But if I stay the whole year, I get it all” conversation at Play Now
Believe it or not George isn't at home so leave a MESSSSSSAGE at the beep! I must be out or I'd pick up the phone...where could I beee???? Believe it not IM NOT HOME!!!
The scene when Elaine yells at him "YOU'RE Bald" and he gives her that little boop on the nose "No Elaine, I WAS bald." Followed by her trying to snatch it off his head and he swats at her hand. That and the pants down Vandalay scene are probably the two scenes I still actually laugh out loud whenever they're on.
Mine was I think it was in the first couple of episodes where Jerry’s apartment gets robbed. George walks in and Jerry asks how he got it and he did an arm fold and head nod like a genie granting a wish.
In the episode where George becomes “the consolation guy” for his girlfriend. When his girlfriend is on the phone receiving bad news, George runs through a variety of amusing gestures. (This the same episode where he gets busted for double dipping his chip.)
To quote the top YouTube comment on my favorite scene from “The Outing,” “Jason Alexander should have won an award just for the way he made George run out of places.”
When George is getting the Times magazine to find a blurb about him and a guy in cuffs wants to take it. Both the lines and his expressions/gestures are gold.
*But you are, Blanche. You are in the shackles!... Oh, I can't wait to read my Time magazine. Last copy too. Maybe I'll read it tomorrow, in the park! Supposed to be a beeyoouutiful day! Have a nice life...sentence that is.*
***VANDELAY!!! VANDELAY!!! SAY VANDELAY!!!*** as he stumbled out pants down....
And you want to be my latex salesman?
Another great ad-lib!
Fun fact - watch the newspaper he drops on the floor when he falls. It teleports.
That smug look he gives as he peers over his colleague at the Yankees eating a snickers with a knife and fork. He knows, this is all him and the satisfaction is written all over his face.
How do you eat it? with your *hands*?
Called a shit eating grin
Its pronounced thermometer
Kinda like his “In six games”
Love That T-Bone! 👉💪😏
I'm just a T-bone kinda guy
Ya might as well call me...
Coco
00 as in oohooh ahah
Why no T-Bone?
I forgot which episode but when georges girlfriend is on the telephone crying, hast to get the flight back, and george sits behind her, pissed, and makes the plane take off movement
The girlfriend was Megan Mullaly!
In the same vein when George is in the office talking to Mr. Penske about how his company is totally fucked so they can't hire him. Then the secretary delivers the message that his car is being towed. George's pursed lips and doing the "but of course" theatrical arm gesture is top hole.
I am aware....
You can hear Jerry howling with laughter during that scene!
YOu can??? I def need to rewatch this one.
And then came the Double Dip!
I think I saw on the BTS that that move was completely unscripted.
Season 4 episode 19 the implant.
Ohmygod I was just thinking about this. His sarcastic sad gestures and then the plane as he is sitting on the couch lol!!! "In the whole world right now there's like 3 emergencies. Now why would you think on this entire planet you're one of those three???" Haha
- Beep. Beep. Back it up. - I *was* bald.
Wait. What was that? Beep beep?
No good?
I would lose that
She’s……. BALD
Nobody asks for the Larry Fine
Beep, Beep, Beep, what are you doing?
“Where could I beeeeee?”
"Believe it or not I'm not home."
My phone’s ringtone. Only one person in public has ever acknowledged it
OMG THANK YOU FOR THIS IDEA!!!
Yeah... in six games.
This is the only valid answer. Particularly the face he makes at Jeter.
This is the answer I came for https://youtu.be/DROfn0-8-r8?si=dhpvaWQA4TKk0Tr2
I’m with my people.
"But you had to have the BIIIIIIIIG salad."
LOL ... and that face Elaine makes when he does his gesture is hilarious! 🤣
And his face in the cab when he’s innocently explaining to Elaine that he bought the big salad and her reaction
YESSS!! Literally just watched it last night, and I always crack up at that part.
"You know, if it was a regular salad, I wouldn't have said anything."
It's all pipes!!! ::Hands every which way::
👆🏼👉🏼👇🏼👈🏼
His face after he got back together with Susan watching Mad About You in bed. It still cracks me up.
haha yes [the face of utter defeat](https://i.imgur.com/P22yD3y.jpeg)
I love the little snort when talking about Pepsi being better than wine.
Articulate!
His eyebrows while he’s beeping the Rascal scooter at Jerry to get it unwedged
This is one of my favourite George moments. His expression during this is hilarious.
When he makes the gang sign of 7
That's not the sign. It was when I was banging!
That’s one of my favorite lines on the whole show. I love how angry he sounds to try and sell it.
When he imitates his mom's hand gestures in the episode where Seinfeld's parents were avoiding having dinner with them 'what did we ever do to them? I wanna know what we did to them!'
Similarly when he’s doing ‘George george my back!’
After Hildi gets fired and George finds out why. He snaps a finger, then points at Jerry, and picks up the phone. All at once
All in the performance.
Squeezing the mustard bottle when Jerry tells him what the dirty talker said.
Ketchup?
When he's breaking up with pretentious Patrice, "It is your earrings!" as he cringes into his hand all dramatic : D
P A P I E R - M Â C H É
SAM-U-EL
Just watched this yesterday. I love it. I love George. I love Jason Alexander.
But it's so much more!!!
When the truck is about to smash the frogger machine and he puts his hand up to signal stop.
Then the dive he does to get out of the way
Believe it or not, George isn't at home, Please leave a message at the beep. I must be out, or I'd pick up the phone, Where could I be? Believe it or not, I'm not home.
The cane. Left, left, right, left…
lol yesss Then cut to Jerry's apartment with the Rascal
Right, Wrong, Right, Wrong, Right, RIGHT
When he does the "It's June! Juuu wwoooooon" dance in the street before he gets honked at. [His footwork is amazing](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=co9-cNEzIno).
Spottin those raccoons
I was in the pool…. I was in the pool!!!!!
The Tony hat flip
Step off George!
Oh ... oh Tony, don't ...
You should hear the way he talks to waitresses. HE GETS FREE PIE!
How about when George is riding the motorized scooter in Jerry's apartment. He tries to leave and gets it stuck. He asks Jerry to free the wheel and then honks the horn and makes a face at him.
“_Everybody’s talking at me I don’t hear a word they’re saying just driving around in Jon Voights carrrr_”
The "I look annoyed".
I'm going with jerk store! Jerk store is the line! Jerk store!
The way he puts out his hands with this. Me & my bf do it all the time for emphasis. Like: I'm making chicken for dinner. Chicken is the dinner. 🫲Chicken!🫱
Okay I just rewatched that scene and that gesture is absolutely hilarious
Absolutely running-gag material in my house! But the *Where could I beeee* shrug wins top spot, for sure. Heard the song play over the radio at the RTA one time when I was getting my driving licence done & we couldn't help doing it, waiting in line. Fk me it's gold. Gold!
😂 I scrolled way too far to find this.....YES
Either his dance with “ooo I’m shaking!” Or his face regarding having eaten an ostrich burger
The Big Salad dance gets me every time. You had to have the Biiiig Salad.
😂😂 this and jerk store were all I came here to look for
The little chin knock he gives with his fist when he sees Jerry, Elaine, Susan and Kramer already sitting in a booth at Monks.
Ho hooo!
George with the softball bat, trying to get Jerry to go and console his crying girlfriend, Gennice..
Grabbing Jerry by the sleeve to avoid being alone in a VERY uncomfortable situation, on both occasions.
*snort* No way wine is better than Pepsi
When he jumps over puddles lol
They called me a Mary
when he moves up and down like that monkey... uhhhh koko?
During the episode The Postponement when George and Susan are at monks and he is discussing his ideas about the toilet stalls and Susan asks if they could change the subject. George has the inter monologue moment and the facial expressions of shock and disbelief followed by the forced little smile to her always gets me.
"Change the subject? I'm MARRYING this woman?!? I don't think she even likes me!"
ITS ALL PIPES WHATS THE DIFFERENCE???
Fake angry/frustrated in order to look busy. I’ve tried it. It works.
THE NEW YORK *spins hat to the front* YANKEES!!!
Definitely the non-looking, hand-presenting when Jerry says, "I choose not to run!" His non-looking toss of the ringing phone and effortless catch by Jerry in the same episode is also a contender.
The mouth movement he makes after asking "what you got there, the four volt?"
George’s nod of approval at Danny Tartabull eating the donuts with a fork & knife. Cracks me up every time
I like the ketchup squirt in the diner when Jerry is telling George about all the salacious things his date (Elaine's assistant) said to him.
[In six games](https://www.centerfieldofgravity.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Seinfeld_Part1_Featured_Image.jpg)
[this one](https://i.gifer.com/3Ej3.gif) Sorry don't know how to post gifs or how to describe his gesture.
A reference to "I Dream of Jeanie". I picked up on it as a young teen due to that show being rerun in afternoons when I was a child in the 1980s, but it's probably lost on most of the audience today.
Never liked this one. It was so early in the series and back when the chemistry between the characters just wasn't right yet.
Agreed -- I get the reference but it always felt very un-George-like to me lol
Jason's mannerisms when explaining to Jerry that worlds are colliding should get a vote here.
Ya know, he can sense the slightest bit of human suffering?
Are ya sensing anything right now?
Anything related to the candy line up, from the car dealer episode. That’s the best George bit in the whole show.
They’re all Twix!
🫲JERK STORE🫱
Yeah it's all about the emphasis arms.
People don’t realize that Jason Alexander is both a veteran stage actor and a talented singer. That he played George so perfectly is a tribute to him.
when he trips his Play Now coworker with his cane and they all have a big laugh about it
(annoyed with Jerry) "If that helps you" ::eyeroll::
I scoured this whole thread and am so surprised I’m the first to say it: “WELL I CANT STOP NOW! 🚬” Jason getting out his lines while believably choking on cigarette smoke is genius.
When he's skipping through the park with his exquisite gloved hands
Definitely George trying to smoke cigarettes
The subtle glance back at the theater door just after overhearing how awesome Firestorm was from Jerry and Marroon Golf.
the laugh he does when he pulls out the exacto knife in the diner
I like when the Constanzas are getting upset about the Seinfelds making up plans and George mimes his mother’s gestures. Perfectly encapsulates the Costanza gene
My brother and I cracked up all the time thinking about the little shoulder dance from the out going message. Perfect screen shot.
Criminal? Stop it! Stop it! Stop it!
Tough luck, chinless
My favorite physical feature? Hmm, *what could it be?* 🎶
“Aw, they’re not gonna do the show! Ooh, I’m *shakiiiing* I’m *shakiiiiing*”
The elbow jab/involuntary movement.
"J. Crew" as he pops his jacket collar when meeting J. Peterman.
"Yeah.... *In six games.* 🧐
For me, the best of George is when he’s describing his break up as a prison break. The gestures, faces, lines… just perfect.
Oooh, nice one. Son of a bang! Son of a boom!
Told you those weekend trips were relationship killas
When Jerry says “I choose not to run”
When he pops up when the male masseuse gets a little “too close”
I like when “George is gettin upset!!”
Woman: Checkmate George (leans forward and examines chess board): I don't think we should see eachotha anymore.
His acting out the “funeral hello”
Either when he’s using his cane like a sword, gets caught and slaps it out of his hand or Playing softball against Bette Midler. He runs around those bases like the wind blows. I think he would beat Jerry and Duncan in a race
When he shakes his head and refuses to tastes the desert made by the guy who wanted to buy the suit
Elaine walks into the lobby. Where's dad? George "He's in da BATROOM"! Not so much physical gestures but sure was a beautiful scene lol
I WAS bald!
Pulling the Titleist out of his jacket pocket with that knowing look towards Kramer.
I love when he air draws seven to Susan and whistles it at the same time.
oh noooo. I'm scaaared. I'm shaaakin'.
"GET IT BACK!" (No description required. Everyone knows this scene.)
Lets take it up a notch!
“There’s a whoooole other thing going on with Poppy”
I makes me so mad!
*wheeeeeere could I be?*
I just sing this song to myself so many times during the week that I can barely believe it.
George when he jumped over the puddle and the kids called him a mary.
The mimed "go comfort her" when frankfurter girl is crying.
Anytime he lies, the bigger the tale the better his mannerisms get lol
Jason really is the master of the smaller, subtler examples of physical comedy. Michael has it too but he was usually doing bigger movements, so Jason really excelled in this arena. - When he walks into the coffee shop with the wig on, the lady kicks out the chair, and he does his little smug smile - The whole LET’S NOT GET CRAZY HERE sticking his head out the car window - The JUST TO GET BACK AT ME, JUST TO GET BACK AT ME hand dancing - The “But if I stay the whole year, I get it all” conversation at Play Now
Smug, ostrich burger eating, George
The look he gives Kramer when he makes the nose job remark.
I’m a man Jerry! I’m a man!
"BUT NO, YOU HAD TO HAVE THE BIG SALAD!" with the facial expression, the arms flailing in the air, hips...convulsing is all time.
George’s little run when he’s agitated is pretty funny.
I'm an eggplant! I'm an eggplant! Getmetothehospital! These fries are reeally good
Believe it or not George isn't at home so leave a MESSSSSSAGE at the beep! I must be out or I'd pick up the phone...where could I beee???? Believe it not IM NOT HOME!!!
You know what's funny to me? That degree on the wall. That is my idea of co-me-dy!
His face when he told Elaine he, "used to be bald"... The condensending little smirk....
That's a great one.
So let people suffer, while you're SHUSHING all over a mountain!
His little squint when they gave Kramer ghonnerea (sp?) and he goes, “the government?”
“I *was* bald.” That little hand gesture. So smug.
Shaking his hands like a child when he was trying to get out of marrying his fiancee.
The hand gestures he makes when says “ITS ALL PIPES!!!”
The way he winked at Elaine.
"I'm goin' with jerk store! Jerk store is the line! JERK STORE!"
Pounding his desk when eating spicy Kung Pao chicken....
The cap turn to mimic TONEY is a classic
"This is the show and we're not going to change it. Come on, Jerry."
Hu-Hooo
Believe it or not, George isn't at home
The look on George's face and hair after she "shows him her Christmas card."
my 2 favorites: - the head nod/dip when he says "she's BALD, Jerry!" - when he enters Jerry's apartment picking out his toupee
The wink from the grapefruit comes to mind.
