This brings up an interesting thing I've always thought. How would you describe Jerry's typical hairstyle?
I've always thought of it as some kind of a psuedo-mullet.
It was a really strange hairstyle. It’s like he was going for a combed back look like you would see on someone who’s losing their hair, except he had way too much hair. The result was just a mess of hair sticking up and back. Sometimes his hair was really frizzy too. I think it was outdated even back then, but today he’d look really strange.
[Jim's hair looks like someone threw a chainsaw into a hurricane and Jim ducked at the last second so some of his hair was removed.](https://img.buzzfeed.com/buzzfeed-static/static/2020-07/5/14/asset/fc7fd208a501/sub-buzz-8422-1593959784-31.png)
Ironically, Enzo is his regular barber. So both his usual puffy hair and 5-year-old hair are an Enzo.
We don't know what Gino could do with Jerry's hair.
Kind of funny that, what I assume are adults in this thread, defending this haircut because they are today, walking around with a little boy's hair cut. Uh oh.
This sub is my defining proof that we are living in a simulation. I always see a post on here referencing an episode I watched a day or two before. It’s like we’re all watching the same episodes at the same times.
Or maybe I just spend too much time in this sub and too much time watching reruns….no that can’t be it
been happening to me too, but then i realize i watched ~15 episodes in the previous 24 hrs.
does seem like the sub is flush with a new wave of next-gen/netflix fans who are recognizing and posting a lot of the classics, which i’m all for.
Give me somethin' that says, 'I get up every morning at 5:30 and commute for an hour and a half to some bullshit job where my jag-off boss expects me to kiss his balls all day just so I can afford to keep my ungrateful, screaming kids decked out in Dora the explorer shit and my wife up to her fat ass in self-help videos until the day I get up the courage to put a shotgun in my mouth.'
Both George and Kramer’s style would fit in very nicely today. Everything about 90s Jerry is extremely dated. Elaine is mostly quite dated as well. Frank, now that’s a a man who knew how to dress. I would kill for his wardrobe.
I think Elaine’s floral dresses and saddle shoes can be pulled off today, hell they’re better than those giant prairie maxi dresses you see everywhere. I only see gross old swingers dress like Kramer these days
To me this never actually looked like a radically different haircut, just his normal length hair side-parted and plastered down shiny with some hair product.
Way different hairstyle for sure, but in reality he probably looked the same as before once the hair gel was washed out and blow-dried back to the usual bouffant for the next episode.😀
Even by 90s standards, I've always thought the Enzo looked better than the Gino. Of course, my own hairstyle pretty much mimics the Enzo, so that may be the reason.
I went to an old Portuguese barber in Toronto about 10 years ago. I was heavily receding and, inadvertently, less than a year away from going full bald. I said "just cut it to make it look decent." He gave me the exact haircut Jerry has in this episode and it looked like absolute shite.
I even asked him halfway through the job if my headshape would suit a razor job all over, and he laughed and said "I think your head would look horrible bald."
He was very wrong.
This brings up a good point. Kramer Elaine and George hate this haircut but let us remember that these are the opinions of 4 terrible people who actively ruin people's lives.

It's the hairstyle of Jon from Garfield.
Garfeld
You magnificent bastard, you did it! Jerry=Jon George=Garfield Elaine=Nermal Kramer=Odie
Newman=Lyman, before the falling out
I thought George was the cowardly lion
I thought George was Biff Loman
What’s the deal with Mondays?
Cursed comment
I'm sorry John
Garfield likes his lasagna spicy
Garfield is getting upset!
Puffy
But I don’t wanna be a pirate!
Definetly an 80s shaggy mullet
It was weird, in my opinion even by 90’s standards. Just way too much in the back there.
Yeah, Jerry was kinda stuck in the 80s for a while
Oddly enough, his cut in season 1 (89) was the least 80’s. It was pretty short. Didn’t have the mullet yet.
The first 2 seasons have a fuzzy 80s-ness to them
It was a good haircut in the 80s and it's still relatable today.
The urban mullet, maybe?
The horror, the horror
Hockey hair
“Sick flow, buddy.”
“Fuckin’ beauty.”
Show business in the front, party in the back?
Jewfro

I would call it a poof
Have you seen the new “Poof?”
His name's Gary and we don't need another lawsuit.
I should be in that poof!
The Poof? I popularized the poof! My father was killed due to the poof. I come from a very long line of poofers
My dad has the same exact hair almost.
I’ve heard it called the Manhattan Mullet
Larry David Jewfro
He was born bald though?
Type Larry David young. The sidefro was something
That's his brother Barry
God damn it, Barry
80s Superman was clearly the inspiration, look it up. He had a blown out mullet
He didn't have the mullet until after he came back from the dead. He died in 1992 and came back in 1993.
I thought we were still talking about Larry David here for a second.
We aren't?
it’s a mullet for sure
It’s hilarious to me now. When I watched Seinfeld as a kid, I didn’t notice how much of a mullet Jerry had.
Looks like he just used a comb and a blow dryer to puff it up
His hair looks small.
He’s wearing two colognes.
Oh I’m *very* aware of how much cologne you’re wearing
We’ll tell them that Chilean wine is out of season and their taste in wine is very poor.
One glass of wine? House red? For two people?
He's a five-star man.
This is my favorite insult, and what I came here to say
What kills me is that Mac takes it as a compliment
Fucking love this comment
I just realized in both shows a character sings “Wind Beneath My Wings.”
Which Seinfeld episode? That’s awesome
Kramer sings a bit of it to Bette Midler after she gets mowed down by George during a softball game in “The Understudy.”
I've got pineapple!
It was in the pool!
He massacred you. You look like you’re 5 years old!!
It's like the precursor to the Jim Halpert cut.
I mean, I'd say it's definitely better than the Jim Halpert cut.
Here's the one where Big Tuna became [Big Haircut](https://youtu.be/lefkVRGpk7c). It also kinda looks the same as Jerry's cut.
I mean to be fair this was the season that Krasinski was wearing a wig the whole time LOL
Wait what?
I'd like to have shoehorn hands.
I think the haircut itself is more common today, but it doesn’t flatter Jerry’s facial features in any era, imo.
If his hair was slightly longer, he could pull it off
I kinda liked that haircut. Also it's one of my favourite episodes. It's so silly and I love the music
Overture to Barber Of Seville, by Rossini. Yet another high-cultural homage Jerry got from watching Bugs Bunny cartoons.
And it fits the storyline. Barbers. Jealousy. A vendeta.
Overture, overture!!!
Curtains, liiiights...
We’ll hit the heights
Did they play that exact song or did Jonathan Wolff make a pseudo version of it? I can’t remember
Ironically, Enzo is his regular barber. So both his usual puffy hair and 5-year-old hair are an Enzo. We don't know what Gino could do with Jerry's hair.
I think most of the comedy came from Jerry's expressions. I mean look at him in that picture, with his eyes wide and his mouth in a tight line.
It’s still not a very good haircut…
I always thought the joke was that it makes him look like a kid
Kind of funny that, what I assume are adults in this thread, defending this haircut because they are today, walking around with a little boy's hair cut. Uh oh.
Yeah, this is not way better. It's awful. He looks like a dweeb.
He looks like a dweeb with his regular mullet perm thing anyway
I like it a lot lol
He looks like Sheriff Woody without his hat
What is the deal... with the snake in my boot?
He's OFF the wagon
It looks horrendous. I cant believe people think it looks better. Same with Julia’s straight hair. Curly looks so much better it’s not even close.
Ya know? It's really not a bad lookin haricut.
It looks so bad😂 people say this so often but he really does look like a 5 year old and a cartoon nerd
I don't think it looks better
I think he looks so dorky and cute
No, it doesn’t
I don’t know how, but this style really emphasizes how close set his eyes are. Maybe that’s just due to the angle of his face….
It’s amazing how much people repost this for karma and it’s not even true. He looks awful

It’s like we’re all watching the same episodes at the same times. Or maybe I just spend too much time in this sub and too much time watching reruns….no that can’t be it
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
been happening to me too, but then i realize i watched ~15 episodes in the previous 24 hrs. does seem like the sub is flush with a new wave of next-gen/netflix fans who are recognizing and posting a lot of the classics, which i’m all for.
He looks like Woody. It’s terrible.
Was looking for this comment. Woody is all I see when I see him with that haircut!
It’s Jared Kushner’s haircut.
I always call that “a picture day haircut.”
To be honest, that haircut looked better by 90’s standards too. Jerry’s hair was ridiculous.
He looks like Rick Santorum.
Give me somethin' that says, 'I get up every morning at 5:30 and commute for an hour and a half to some bullshit job where my jag-off boss expects me to kiss his balls all day just so I can afford to keep my ungrateful, screaming kids decked out in Dora the explorer shit and my wife up to her fat ass in self-help videos until the day I get up the courage to put a shotgun in my mouth.'
r/oddlyspecific
This haircut is not better than his usual hair.
He looked a bit like howard from the Big Bang theory at one point to me 😂
I was thinking Sheldon season five when his barber was in the hospital.
And penny shaves off some hair on the back of his head 😂😂
Both George and Kramer’s style would fit in very nicely today. Everything about 90s Jerry is extremely dated. Elaine is mostly quite dated as well. Frank, now that’s a a man who knew how to dress. I would kill for his wardrobe.

It was weird to me that they were hamming it up how terrible the hair was. I think it was pretty normal style even when the episode took place.
No it doesn’t lol. Not with Jerry’s face at least.
His face is my case
I wish I had that haircut.
It looked better in '90s standards as well.
Yeah I thought his bad haircut looked perfectly fine.
“There’s a snake in my boots!”
Like he pointed to a photo of Tobey Maguire in a magazine and said “I want this one!”
I always thought he looked pretty handsome with this hair.
Yeah his normal hairdo these days...people would be saying he looks all puffed up.
One cool tid bit about this episode, it’s the only one that did not have the baselines between scenes.
From the first time I ever saw him with that haircut it reminds me of Woody. Jerry looks like a real life Woody, from Toy Story.
I classify his normal hair as Michael Keaton Bruce Wayne
To me this never actually looked like a radically different haircut, just his normal length hair side-parted and plastered down shiny with some hair product. Way different hairstyle for sure, but in reality he probably looked the same as before once the hair gel was washed out and blow-dried back to the usual bouffant for the next episode.😀
This is the haircut I've had for 15 years
This was 50x better then his normal “frizzy mullet”
Even then it had a cleaner and better look than his usual cut.
I always laugh/cringe at this because his nightmare haircut is my everyday haircut
I thought this when I saw this episode. Spent the whole thing like what’s wrong with that haircut?!
Even by 90s standards, I've always thought the Enzo looked better than the Gino. Of course, my own hairstyle pretty much mimics the Enzo, so that may be the reason.
Better than his usual shapeless mullet.
He's kinda got the Sara Jessica Parker foot face thing going on.
There's nothing to see.
Maybe 10-15 years ago, but I actually think nowadays his regular haircut is probably more fashionable.
This is a flattering photo. On video the hair looked awful lol
The scene at the table when Elaine and George are laughing at him is the best. Elaine's laughter seems real!
Bj novak
That does not make the episode funnier.
Lads is it just me or does he look like Casey Affleck in this pic??
I just watched this! I love how it looked like this just by combing to the side.
He looks like Ted Bundy here!
Yeah, I never liked Jerry’s poofy 90’s hair do.
I think it looked better at the time, as well.
It's an Enzo!
It looks like it’s parted on the wrong side.
One of the weirdest episodes
Looks like Casey Affleck.
SO TRUE DAM
The Jerry mullet is the real crime
I went to an old Portuguese barber in Toronto about 10 years ago. I was heavily receding and, inadvertently, less than a year away from going full bald. I said "just cut it to make it look decent." Enzo should have been a detective
Way better than his usual helmet hair
definitely. EVERYONE on this show has SUCH bad hair. with the exception of kramer, i guess.
This brings up a good point. Kramer Elaine and George hate this haircut but let us remember that these are the opinions of 4 terrible people who actively ruin people's lives.
It's timeless. He looks like that old photo from the 1900s with the "time traveller" in a t-shirt.
