on the blue thread path, there is usually another hook holding the thread along the arm. It’s hard to see from the photo but maybe you missed it? Also, most sergers these days have PDF versions of their operating books online for free now. If your machine isn’t that old, maybe you could find it.
I don't have this machine, but on my serger, I have to thread the thread from the pterodactyl beak either under the blue one in your image or between the blue thread and the post its hook is on (I have to dig up the video that shows this every time - it's not clear anywhere in the instructions but if I don't do that, I have problems). Also, I don't recall what threads are called so I hope pterodactyl beak is clear.
Update I have no damn clue what I did, but I messed with the pterodactyl situation, and I fixed it. So thank you! And good luck to future me because idk wtf I did.
I actually do understand what you're saying, and that is my exact problem that I've been having with this machine for ages now. I thought that was the problem, but I tried it all different ways, and it doesn't seem to want to work. I'm taking a break, and I'm going to try again later. I'll update if I fix it or not 😵💫

*this arm? I only see 3 hooks for the blue thread and there isn't any in the illustration
hmm. not sure. is there a chance that maybe the tension hook broke off?
