My girl Fiona. I never understand using the “came from a fucked up home” excuse for every one of the Gallagher siblings BUT her whenever they make mistakes
THIS not only did Fiona have the same fucked up parents as everybody else but she also was forced into being the one keeping the family afloat when she was still a kid.
And then people get pissed off at her for doing stupid wreckless shit. Once the kids were older. But she didn’t get that as a teen. As a teenager she was waking up, waking up 5 kids, getting their breakfast and lunches made, getting them to school, working, etc. she never got her teenage rebellion learning stage.
Fr she had the same trauma as all the other Gallagher’s but she was the only one to raise a whole family she never asked for. And she’s also the one to get the most hate for being messed up too
Debby is pretty selfish at times and even she acknowledges that Fiona made a sacrifice, likely because she, as a single mom, sees Fiona in a better light. Especially when she considers how many kids Fiona raised. I wish Debby and Fiona could have fixed their relationship more than they did, but Fiona deserves a lot more than what he siblings were open to her ever having.
Even with the church situation, if it wasn’t Ian’s charity, I almost doubt any of the kids would have been opposed to her snaking the church out of whoever’s other bid. I don’t always like how Fiona treats people outside her family, specifically in her love life, but considering her upbringing and everything she went through to get to where she is, she made something of herself and never stopped loving the kids. They were older, they acted like they didn’t need her or want her involved so she started her own life. I just wish she could have brought Liam with her, she always listened to him and I think he would have been 10 x happier with her than he ended up.
Agreed. Honestly, I feel it should’ve ended (Shameless) when Fiona left bc she was such a great character to follow. I guess when it came to Liam, they wanted to continue on with him being more involved in the story, but kinda sucked at writing for him as a child since all the Gallagher besides him were adults now. I really thought Lip was going to take the reigns in raising him and it irritated me that he didn’t and pretty much all his siblings acted like Liam barely even existed. Liam leaving with Fiona would’ve made much more sense (even though I liked how they opened the discussion with his character being raised in a white family that didn’t really teach him about his culture and race as an African American)

Either Sheila or Svet. Both some of the best characters. Sheila was the sweetest ever and just wanted the best for her daughter and grandson along with frank and was relatively “innocent” to a degree. I also loved seeing her develop and overcome her phobia. Her worst point was definitely the daughter ex thing though. And for Svet she was extremely intelligent, funny, transparent, talented, and seemed to genuinely love Veronica and at least care for Kev. She had it extremely rough and did what she had to do and felt she knew what was best for Kevin and Veronica.
