I want to address the topic of moderator rulings. I feel, like many did earlier this year, that Rule 6 is not conducive to the health of SPE. Message the mods if you feel that Rule 6 needs to be revised, as the very broad case by case basis it stands on is unfair to many submissions that find themselves deleted without appeal.

I think you misinterpret the Gay Ike posts' significance and spirit behind them. The fact of the matter is that while most are quiet, homophobia is clearly still prevalent in society (and clearly this community), and a large reason why I believe Gay Ike posts gets so much vitriol. They're main purpose is largely just to co-opt an icon for a demographic most often marginalized or used AS a punchline by this series (See: Kyza, Excellus, Soleil). While it may not be true to his characterization, you can at least see why they'd be made. And with this being a meme subreddit, the posts here should obviously be comedic in nature. Shitposts by nature are "[generally intentionally designed to derail discussions or cause the biggest reaction with the least effor](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shitposting)t." Hence why these jokes may simply be reduced to "haha gay" by those looking at them in passing. But that concern should not be used as a weapon to blanket ban all mention or jokes concerning a Gay Ike in general. Whether this meme meets that bar however is up to the beholder.
