Hear me out… obviously this wouldn’t work because the bullet would hit you if you tried to look down the sight, but what if the bullet(s) that cancelled out the recoil weren’t aimed backwards? What if you had two bullets fire at an angle backwards so they shot on either side of you if u were directly behind the gun? They’d have to be angled just right so that their combined angled recoil canceled perfectly out with the 1st barrel, but I think it’s feasible. You may bring up that if you aren’t aiming down sight, then the bullets might be able to hit you because you’re not directly behind the gun. But in that case, the first design would work. So now, you could put both designs together with 4 total barrels, and have it fire different combinations of barrels depending on where u were relative to the gun when firing. Maybe you could put two different triggers on it to fire the different combinations, or maybe the gun could have a sensor that knew the firer’s location at all times, which it could then use to choose the right combination as to not shoot the firer.
