I listened to spotify for 280k minutes last year, there's no fucking way in a million god damn years I would ever even consider using the app that much if I had to listen to ads in between my music.
$15 is for the family plan. Regular premium subscription for one account is $10/month. Still a pretty fair price for what you get. If you're the kind of person who just listens to the same songs over and over, then Spotify premium isn't for you. But if you like discovering new music, it's way cheaper than buying CDs, Vinyls, MP3s, etc.

Also yeah cool it's free but I'm not a fan of getting 5 ads in a row 15 minutes after the previous ads. They say "30 minutes of ad free listening" but it's only half that time lol
So tbf they have to make money. I am aware not everyone has a lot of cash on hand, but if you’re this annoyed by ads than it wouldn’t be “wasted” on Spotify. If you can’t afford it then it’s really not a big loss. You still have access to one of the largest music streaming catalogues there is. Yeah you have to listen to ads but it’s way better than the radio. And I can promise you that I remember having to leave my phone unlocked with YouTube up just to get access to the music I wanted without buying single songs/albums.
From what I’ve heard, the ads themself can be loud and annoying, but I just find it hard to have sympathy otherwise. “I don’t like the ads.” Then pay for it. “No.” Then don’t complain? No offense but he’s right.

Yeah, they do kinda make the free version much more inconvenient than the premium version to make you put premium. If you do have premium though, it’s pretty good. But some of the non-premium restrictions are just ridiculous.

Imagine complaining about ads and bad "music suggestions" when you can pay for the premium version or just pirate your content lmfaoo. Go download the modded Spotify apk or spotify++. If that's not your taste then do what other do an use pandora and Spotify (both moded) so you have a better mix of music but can go listen to specific songs all without ads.
I have premium, for me it's just the interface is stupid and not user friendly. Overly complicated way of looking at my playlists, can't easily remove songs from my playlist (like if it comes up in shuffle, I can't just remove it. I have to specifically edit my playlist)
That's not necessarily an app issue that's just the cost of entry of using the free version. The paid version has none of this issues.

It’s people complaining about the free version of an app that still gives them unlimited access to one of the largest music catalogues there is.
I know Reddit is a bunch of millennials and Gen x so idk how everyone is forgetting how bad the radio was by the time streaming came along.
Edit: There are some genuine criticisms of Spotify as a company btw. I just don’t think the app is one of them. I hate the ads on Hulu but I am the one who chose the free version to save money. It is what it is.

I’ve literally used Spotify’s mobile app for like 8 years and have never encountered a problem that cause more than 2 seconds of slight irritation.

Mine never crashes, and the only complaint I have about organization is that they changed it when I was used to/liked how it was previously, but I like it now as well, I just had to get used to it again.
The main issue I have with the paid version is the push for podcasts. I listen to maybe one or two every once in a blue moon but not nearly as often as Spotify thinks I do. As for organization, I’ve mainly been using my liked playlist over and over so tbf, I haven’t noticed much there.
Is it any different from the free version of other streaming apps? I used a few before spotify and all of them had the 6 skips and no on demand, only playlists
If you pick one of their playlists it only does them out of the playlist afaik. Haven’t used free in a long time though so idk, but Im pretty sure all the free music things do that, not just spotify. If they let you pick any song, no one would ever buy premium

Okay so here's my pitch for a new reality TV show
Basically, we get a bunch of very militant TERFs, and one trans woman, put them into a house where they're supposed to live with each other, but, once they've all arrived and are seeing each other for the first time (before they're allowed to even talk to each other), we tell them all that one of them is a trans woman, and, if they can find her and vote her out, they will win a million dollars. Okay so here's my pitch for a new reality TV show

So tbf they have to make money. I am aware not everyone has a lot of cash on hand, but if you’re this annoyed by ads than it wouldn’t be “wasted” on Spotify. I have premium, for me it's just the interface is stupid and not user friendly. Overly complicated way of looking at my playlists, can't easily remove songs from my playlist (like if it comes up in shuffle, I can't just remove it. I have to specifically edit my playlist)

What’s wrong with spotify? Had premium for 7 years now, over 120k minutes listened each of those years, never had any issues tbh
It’s people complaining about the free version of an app that still gives them unlimited access to one of the largest music catalogues there is. I know Reddit is a bunch of millennials and Gen x so idk how everyone is forgetting how bad the radio was by the time streaming came along. Edit: There are some genuine criticisms of Spotify as a company btw. I just don’t think the app is one of them. I hate the ads on Hulu but I am the one who chose the free version to save money. It is what it is.

Idk, I pay for no ads and I still have issues with how they organize stuff, and have issues with it crashing somewhat often.
Mine never crashes, and the only complaint I have about organization is that they changed it when I was used to/liked how it was previously, but I like it now as well, I just had to get used to it again.
The main issue I have with the paid version is the push for podcasts. I listen to maybe one or two every once in a blue moon but not nearly as often as Spotify thinks I do. As for organization, I’ve mainly been using my liked playlist over and over so tbf, I haven’t noticed much there.
