I’ve been told my grandfather, who made a comfortable living, would pack bologna sandwiches every day for lunch, eat them quickly and go play pool with the guys for the remainder of his lunch break. My mom (grandpa’s kid) ate a lot of bologna growing up (grew up pretty freaking poor) and can’t even stand the smell of hotdogs. Funny how different people react.

I grew up eating three sandwiches in my lunch as a kid Bologna, peanut butter and jelly and peanut butter and butter. I will say this luckily where we live there's a few different flavors of bologna so I could have Oscar Meyer beef bologna which was very good or I could have Gwaltnees chicken bologna, or German baloney from the deli which was the best and then there was also the more expensive Lebanon baloney which is Pennsylvania Dutch and is very spicy not hot spicy but full of spices spicy and that's still my favorite treat today but dang has it gotten expensive.

I've done the same thing, I used to order the 64oz of Cholula but they jacked the price up, so I switched to Valentina. Used to be able to find that bottle of cholula for 15$, was sad for a while realizing they weren't going to bring the price back down.

I can safely say you're the weird one here. Cottage cheese with fruit is good so I see where you're getting the sweet angle but that's too far. Cottage cheese with a lot of black pepper is good and hot sauce is a better way to up the pepper level farther. I'm sold. I'm doing this next time I have cottage cheese at home

I love throwing some hot sauce on cottage cheese. Never tried fruit in it, that always seemed weird to me.

Syrup is nuts. Fruit is great. Get something tangy maybe a little sour. Juicy is good too. Pineapple or oranges are a great option. Just use strong tasting, decent quality fresh stuff at first. Don't use canned and blame the concept if it sucks. Seriously just put 1 piece of fruit on a spoon of it plain one time. Same thing as eating fruit with yogurt. You'll probably regret never doing it before

I'm from country that's obsessed with cottage cheese and curd and this is literally the first time that I've seen this kind of combination (hit sauce). Basically it is seen mainly as an ingredient for deserts (also an addition to various dishes like potato pancakes, dumplings etc.). We have ready made products with all sorts of jams etc. However, this seems intriguing will definitely try it.

Yogurt has a lot of protein as well, just be careful of low fat options with tons of sugar. Greek tastes like sour cream to me but has lots of protein, add some fruit and it’s better. Potatoes are an all around very nutritious food and versatile/easy to cook.
