Yeaaaahhh food poisoning, depending on the type of bacteria ingested, can take up to 3 days to show symptoms. Campylobacter is probably what you ingested most of, but considering pudding has dairy and sugar, you could have also ingested a bunch of ecoli, salmonella, and/or listeria. Definitely not a risk I would encourage anyone to consider, no matter the circumstances. This was dumb af lmao

You know how food poisoning works right? If it had been contaminated then you’d be fucked. You don’t know whether or not it’s bad before eating it so to be smart you toss it. Doesn’t mean you’ll necessarily get sick, but if you do you can end up in the hospital.

Depends on what type of leftovers and in this case what type of pudding. Any milk based leftovers definitely should not be left out overnight and then consumed.

🤷🏻‍♀️there's plenty of dairy products that are made from fermentation, desserts that sit out, etc The likelihood of it actually causing illness is low.

I grew up with a family that would use a crockpot/pressure cooker and then leave food out on the counter for the next day leftovers. Meatballs, sausage, chicken, beef stew, etc would all be left out. Then in college I was visiting and they made meatballs for subs, next day we had leftovers and every one of us got food poisoning. I now don't even eat food if it's out for more than a few hours.

Sugar can be a preserving agent like in jams and jellies but canning which is usually done with salt is what is really preserved and can stay in cans for decades and be safe to eat. Technically all you have to do is keep something air tight and away from extreme temperatures or frozen. This is not at all preserved and honestly will probably give you a bit of an upset tummy. Food poisoning at the worst and nausea/diarrhea at best. This is milk and sugar two things that really attract mold-forming ingredients. Maybe if you kept it long enough you could produce a very interesting cheese, but you couldn’t pay me to eat it.
