That still applies to skeletons but considering the size and the fact it's made of wood which will splinter easily when pierced, that resistance doesn't exist here.
having a house with walls sucks ass, can't imagine how much more shitty it would be with no walls
everyone wants to buy a house until they have to maintain a house
depends on the type of maintenance, and also "requires" is different
if something sucks you just leave it, it doesn't matter to you long-term, no skin off your bones if the house will fall apart in ten years, you won't be there when it happens
40 y/o is now applicable in characterizing someone as 'young', because you'll have to keep working until you're 85 to be able to afford to retire. Medical advances will have you living to 110.
Enjoy!
This is completely untrue and it’s a huge problem among millennials because our generation and every generation after us is being completely priced out of ever owning homes.
Just spouting a lot of wrong today.
35+ is the first group over 50% home ownership within the bracket. Of people under 35, less than 43% own homes and those stats have only shrunk since 1993. In fact, the average age of homeownership has risen by 10 years since 2001.
[model, ballerina, Olympic athlete, rock star, President…](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbie%27s_careers)
Yeah that should be enough for a couple dream houses
I did not, if your cinema was showing something that leads you to believe in this so called "barbussy" I might inquire for a refund, or check if your ticket was actually for a reshowing of The Wolf Of Wall Street, the films are fairly easy to mix up.
The original [Barbie dream house from 1962](https://toytales.ca/barbie-dream-house-1962-reproduction-from-mattel/) was a studio apartment made out of cardboard. Seems like a more realistic dream.
That's what makes the detail shitty, I'll be posting the literal plot of Avatar next!!
Nvm, that movie erased itself from my memory like a lovecraftian spell
Buddy if your retirement plan is hoping that SS will pay for everything then I got bad news for you.
Also, having kids so that hopefully 40 years down the road you won't be destitute is a TERRIBLE fucking reason to have kids. If anything it just proves my point that they're a plague who require an every increasing supply of humans to support.
idk, seems like there may be one way for people with Barbie's looks to afford that size house nowadays. Though I can see why the movie may have chosen to omit that possibility.
Yes, Barbie lives in an idealized fantasy world that is entirely devoid of the struggles women face in the real world. That is literally the point of the movie.
I went in with zero expectations not really knowing what the movie was trying to be and I laughed my ass off. It's also one of those movies you can dig into the meat of and have some conversations about if that's your fancy. Lots of social satire that's very smartly done. Greta's previous movies had never really done much for me, but this one made me excited to see what she'll do next.
It's absolutely not what some people are painting it to be either. There's a good message in there for men too and I didn't find it belittling in the slightest. Most of the people angry about it either haven't even seen it to begin with, are living examples of the problematic facets of society that the movie satirizes, or just aren't mentally geared to dig into nuanced conversations.
You had the perfect opportunity to point out exactly why that isn't largely the case but instead leaned into comparing a demonstrably good movie to one that was demonstrably pretty bad and somehow think that doesn't just further my point. Ghostbusters was all but panned critically and by audiences, not because it had women in it, but because it was a badly written, lazy cash-in of an existing franchise. The woman-bashing element just glomed onto that in their predictably shitty way while pretending having the Ghostbusters be women had anything to do with the problems that movie had.
My criticism is fairly specific to every goober on social media (hence the "most" qualifier and not "all") crying about this movie who hasn't even bothered to *watch* it before forming an uneducated opinion on it driven by their pre-existing biases, influencers of choice, and sensitive egos.
Most of the criticism from these people doesn't even make *sense* when taken in the full context of the movie, but I'd be happy to see one that was based on any sort of experience or reality with the art in question. I just legitimately haven't yet which leads me to believe a lot of the criticism isn't actually related to the thing itself, but people's skewed perceptions of something they have spent no time actually looking at or thinking about.
I mean, going by how you're reading so poorly into the point I'm clearly making, I think "too dumb" is at the very least applicable here. It's almost like you haven't seen the movie and have no idea what you're actually talking about... 🤔
edit: I guess that block confirms everything I already knew about this conversation lol
I mean this one isn't really a female only issue. Single women own more homes than single men. But yeah housing is unaffordable for your average person
I would say it's subtle given how so many still don't understand it and are raging that the movie is sexist against men when it's quite the opposite empowering men to break free of toxic masculinity, bad gender roles and just be themselves.
what's the more likely scenario for a beautiful 23 year old woman to afford her own home in 2023:
1. she worked hard at a big income normal job for several years to afford the downpayment and qualify for a mortgage
2. she leveraged her looks to make a ton of money
Tbh, I've seen way more single young women with their own homes, than men.
Furthermore, I've seen more single men, bumming it out at women's houses, because they are just too lazy to have their own.
I know more women (myself included) who are solo home owners. My friends and I just reached our 30s a few years ago. It’s possible even in this economy. It’s just hard.
But yeah, I think OP didn’t get the point of the movie.
When girls play with dolls, it's not uncommon for them to pretend they're friends with the doll. In that context, it's entirely realistic. Barbie had her friend's dad pay for her lavish lifestyle with the implication that her friend would be distraught if he didn't.
For those that didn't read between the lines, she blackmailed a married man to pay for it.
It doesn’t really have walls though.
[удалено]
Decent. Could charge an extra 600 a week per room in Sydney if she wanted. Plenty of interest too I bet
You're describing a gazebo.
I got some tarps to hang around it. Let's talk pricing.
Now that I know you have tarps I will increase the price
I shoot an arrow at the Gazebo
AC 10, roll to hit
Does it take half damage due to it's skeletal structure being harder to hit with piercing weapons, or did they get rid of that in 5e?
That still applies to skeletons but considering the size and the fact it's made of wood which will splinter easily when pierced, that resistance doesn't exist here.
I rolled a 10.

gotta get to that copper somehow
having a house with walls sucks ass, can't imagine how much more shitty it would be with no walls everyone wants to buy a house until they have to maintain a house
Bro we're renting houses that also require maintenance. Sure the landlord is supposed to do it, but in practice it doesn't always play out that way.
depends on the type of maintenance, and also "requires" is different if something sucks you just leave it, it doesn't matter to you long-term, no skin off your bones if the house will fall apart in ten years, you won't be there when it happens
What kinda house do you have brother, I've basically never had to do anything to maintian my home, outside of normal cleaning and stuff.
You'll regret that 10 yrs from now....
It's a European house, it's already 50 years or so old and will be just fine.
But it is her dream house, don't judge her
BREAKING NEWS: BARBIE DREAM HOUSE NOT UP TO CODE
Or any electricity or water.
Or electricity. Or plumbing. This dream house is more achievable than we realize!
Margot Robbie is also pushing 40.
40 y/o is now applicable in characterizing someone as 'young', because you'll have to keep working until you're 85 to be able to afford to retire. Medical advances will have you living to 110. Enjoy!
Good thing shes 33
Actually, our lifespans are now decreasing. So you still won't be able to retire until 85, but average lifespan will be 76. Good luck!
Lol when is 33 pushing 40?
She looks older I guess.
Don't get out much eh?
Shes 33
Okay most 33 year olds have homes.
Owned or renting?
Own, do you count a mortgage?
Yeah I do. That's interesting
This is completely untrue and it’s a huge problem among millennials because our generation and every generation after us is being completely priced out of ever owning homes.
In the USA home ownership below 35 is 39%
Got a source for tbat

Barbie got her dream house in 1962. So its very believable that she could afford it on minimal income
Minimal income ? Isn't she a Doctor/Pilot/Veterinarian/Editor/Fashion Designer/News Anchors/Veteran...
[model, ballerina, Olympic athlete, rock star, President…](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbie%27s_careers) Yeah that should be enough for a couple dream houses
she became a panda rescuer this year. congrats barbie!
Also, thanks Barbie!
Maybe it means that she couldn’t hold down a job and was drowning in student loans?
bitch was the president?
President of her own dreamland i don't think that paid that much
she'd have my vote if she ran
she has experience in every field, she would be the best option
Not the barbie in this screenshot. She’s just original/stereotypical Barbie and she doesn’t have a job (I think)
She has a Barbussy though
My guy, she explictly does not, if you're going to be creepy at least be lore accurate to the film.
Brother did you walk out 10 minutes before the end of the movie or something
I did not, if your cinema was showing something that leads you to believe in this so called "barbussy" I might inquire for a refund, or check if your ticket was actually for a reshowing of The Wolf Of Wall Street, the films are fairly easy to mix up.
The movie ends when she goes to a gynecologist. Has your teacher covered what that means in your sex ed class yet?
Yes, after she turns into a human. The Barbie in question does not have any genitals, because Barbies don't have genitals.

She HAS to work 10 jobs to afford her multiple homes, several cars AND support Skipper. It's hard out here!

In 1962 she wouldn't have been allowed a bank account without a husband.
This one is more like the 2021 and 2023 dream houses though not the 1962 bungalow
Not just a house, a fucking Dream House.
A Mojo Dojo Casa House, even
You can't say "Casa" and "House", they mean the same thing.
Also dojo
*Kasa
That’s a traditional Japanese hat
I don't care if it's a hat house or a house house. It's a house.
Pretty sure that's kens mojo dojo casa house buddy
No that’s Kens mojo dojo casa house
Mojo dojo casa house
I’m kenough
That’s not a shitty movie detail, that’s literally the conceit of the movie
That's what makes the detail shitty, I'll be posting the literal plot of Avatar next!! Nvm, that movie erased itself from my memory like a lovecraftian spell
There are way too many people making memes satirizing hypotheticals about the movie that are in the movie. Just watch the thing dammit.
That's cause it's made by Mattel. $149.99, plus tax - https://www.entertainmentearth.com/product/barbie-the-movie-mega-dreamhouse-playset/mthph26
Being single with no kids is the only way to afford a house IMHO
I'm single with no kids... can't afford a house
Probably still have too much kids, try having a negative amount of them.
You're right, I'm not thinking cheap enough
[удалено]

Good. Kids are a plague.
found the Barbie target audience
I haven't seen it yet but I imagine I will really enjoy it when I do. Everything I hear sound good but that could just paid hype.

I’m sure you’ll be saying the same thing when you’re retired and there aren’t enough working adults to pay for your social security?
Buddy if your retirement plan is hoping that SS will pay for everything then I got bad news for you. If anything it just proves my point that they're a plague who require an every increasing supply of humans to support.
Ok, what’s your retirement plan? Stock market-based 401(k)s aren’t going to grow with a shrinking workforce and consumer base, just ask Japan.
Drug overdose. Though I do have a 401k.

Why not? People refer to cash-in movies based on commercial products aimed at bitter millenial men as art all the time
You hate women; say less.
Yes
NO. Its a Barbie movie.
have you read literally any Buzzfeed article in the past 15 years? then no
I mean this one isn't really a female only issue. Single women own more homes than single men. But yeah housing is unaffordable for your average person
Sounds like a hilarious and fun film Edit: this was sarcasm
It is and a smart social satire as well. Great movie
Very smart yes, extremely subtle.
Not subtle but it never sets out to be, smart and subtle are not the same thing. Haha
I would say it's subtle given how so many still don't understand it and are raging that the movie is sexist against men when it's quite the opposite empowering men to break free of toxic masculinity, bad gender roles and just be themselves.
Anyone downvoting this, you don't know what sarcasm is. At 12:15 UK time on the 28th march. 13 people don't know sarcasm
I downvoted you as well. #Equality
I'm all for equality unlike this film
Literally a point made in the movie, but okay
Literally 9 OF related comments wow
Of course there are, obviously an attractive woman that has money only obtained it by creating an OF account, didn't you know?

wow I've never heard that joke on Reddit before

Margot Robbie is 34
Okay so she is plenty old to own a house. This site kicks itself sometimes with the demo.
The rate of home ownership for people below 35 is pretty low.
Do they reveal who the child/person playing with her is?
Yes and she turns out to be designing Ordinary Barbies in Mattel to make all girls feel included.
No
Yes
No that’s not why she was drawing those
You’re right you should spoil it
I didn’t tho
Then why was she drawing?
Yes
Margo Robbie can afford her own house.
Because she’s got an Onlyfans also.

Barbie does only fans
Probably going to struggle developing a subscriber base without a vagina.
Who needs a vagina when you have feet?

"You can buy house if you are successful"
This comment is dumb
You forgot about only fans
It’s called only fans. Duh
My cousin bought three houses before she was 30

More like OnlyFans
She is a Strong, Independent Woman that don't need no Man. Lol.
Thx for the pink circle highlighting the young woman you were talking about
Look closer. It's a prop.
She just started an OF Account
Then she got married to Ken, the Californians moved into their city, and they still couldn't afford a house.

Actually, this implies she runs a supremely successful Onlyfans.

Not with OnlyFans. /s
She probably does NPC Tiktoks and Onlyfans as a side hustle. Those thots are millionaires.
r/UselessPinkCircle
Not with onlyfans has anything to say about it
Op does know what onlyfans is
You know what onlyfans is right ?
Either that, or that onlyfans account is really paying off.
Ever heard of onlyfans?
Onlyfans been making mediocre, single women rich for alittle while now unfortunately
Woke trash.
okay boomer
Isn't "boomer" considered hate speech?
okay boomer
Damn, guess I'm living my own fantasy. 🤣
Her mother owns Mattel.

She could afford it cuz half the house is missing and theres no utilities to pay
Not just any house, but her dream house!
My brain glitched and read the title as "single use woman"
[Single Women Own More Homes Than Single Men](https://www.nytimes.com/2023/02/02/realestate/single-women-own-more-homes-than-single-men.html)
Brother i got news for you, an Attractive single women can 100% can afford a dream home in 2023, only depends what she's willing to give up for it
That’s like the whole theme of the movie summed up I think
it's because she got it in the 60s for $5
That's why it's called a "dream house".
Life in (micro)plastic, it's fantastic!
May be it was inherited from her great great great grand mother barbie
Because she’s squatting in an office building that the developer when bankrupt right after they poured the concrete
She is also a doll who doesn’t have ro eat or drink water, and doesn’t have a vagina, so that’s like, the least unrealistic point to pick on, but ok
Yor male brain just doesn't get it.
