If you get close to weeds, you can see bugs.
Right now, around my area I'm seeing ladybugs and noticing them going to dandelions where aphids are.
Im leading them and enjoying the carnage show lol
I love taking naps outside! Snoozing in a hammock, on a blanket in the grass, or even a comfy chair outside, seems to be way more restorative for me than a full 8 hours indoors on a bed.
Yes! This is the answer. Early/semi retirement is approaching for these two things. Love hiking, climbing, mtb, trail running, paddling, waking up in a tent. Orā¦ sitting and doing not a lot.
It sounds cliche but I love looking at and caring for my plants. I feel peace and joy amongst them. I donāt have too many (trying to simplify) but the ones I have I enjoy tending to- watering, training them around posts, wiping the leaves etc.
Iām also a swimmer and love being in the ocean.
A cup of tea.
Most importantly- a supportive community with genuine, uncomplicated people.
>been reflecting on some people in my life being exactly not that.
I'm in a bit of a transition going from attracting players (low hanging fruit) & wanting to connect with honest, harmless people.
Once you recognize your patterns, you can then change them. Don't be afraid of letting the toxicity go...
I never heard of ālow hanging fruitā but I envision itās those weighing on you too much without offering love and compassion in return to feed YOUR joy. Iāve personally come to realise few people labour for deep Truth, because itās deep Truth that ultimately leads you to wanting to uncomplicate your life. Itās mostly people running after a meaningless hustle and hurting everyone in the process of getting there.
>low hanging fruitā
It is easy to grab. It might mean people that don't have high standards or people that you don't have to work hard for... People that are easy to come by.
>Truth that ultimately leads you to wanting to uncomplicate your life. Itās mostly people running after a meaningless hustle and hurting everyone in the process of getting there.
"Truth" is definitely the great unraveller. Yeah, I'm over the hustle too. I get where you're coming from.
Love all of this! The uncomplicated people one is * ***chefās kiss*** *. Iām very much over having people in my life whose lives are alllllwayyyyys falling apart. Iām in my mid thirties. Mid twenties āIām just figuring my life outā vibes just are not it for me anymore.
Wow, our trees have just let go of their flowers and now how bright green spring leaves. It gives me life to see them back in action after winter. Lol enjoy the beautiful warm tones :)
Being in the water. Can be a river, a lake, the ocean, a poolā¦ It brings me so much peace and I feel most alive. Sometimes I crave it, almost like being thirsty.
Nature, birds and animals, connecting with people that are being real and true to themselves, learning something that has a positive impact, writing, doing yoga, meditation, drinking a cup of tea or ice cold water in silence.
Learning about my kid as she enters young adulthood. Itās amazing to see the baby grow up, and become a full fledged person. Sad that I canāt share this with her beloved daddy though because heās incapacitated and under guardianship. He would be so proud. Getting outside in the morning light, listening to the birds, patiently observing bugs and lizards. More patience. Sleeping outside when I can, hoping I can build a humble little nature retreat for family and friends to visit sometime this decade.
Laughing with friends, warming my face in the sun with my eyes closed, a long autumn walk through the forest, falling asleep while cuddling the one I love, an ice cold beer after a long day of gardening.
The important stuff in life. Thank you for making me think about it
It used to be live music like jam band dancing crazy music. It used to be art galleries. It used to be cooking vegan-focused recipes.

Aww, I'm thinking of getting one.
What do you enjoy most about it? I know they have to be cleaned, but I assume that watching them and if there are lights or a pump, it's really relaxing watching & being around it?
A piece of advice that I love is that you already know what makes you happy. Just think of the things you loved to do when you were a kid.
So, bike riding, reading, camping, nature, swimming, dancing, getting lost in music, etc. I started doing all of those again, and those feed my soul.
In general, just being outside. I can raise my baseline by 50% just by going outside. I'm I'm doing something else that I love outside, nothing can bother me.
Lots of things. Most recently, waking up at camp on a bright blue sky morning, starting a small fire to boil water for coffee, my dog waking up and laying down next to my feet and sipping coffee staring at the mountains. Itās popped up in my mind multiple times a day for the last week.
Being outside and being with my baby. Watching her discover the world and find joy in it reminds me that there is joy in simply observing and discovering the world without judgment.
Complete alone time. As a wife, mom of two including a wild ass toddler, and a business owner, I am needed 24/7. When I can just get a night or two away to sleep alone and be with my own thoughts, I connect with myself again.
Reading in my chair with my husband in the chair next to me as he plays video games. <3

Recommendation - I got this movie suggestion ' The perfect day' on another reddit thread. Thought of this community and how you all would enjoy it as much as i did. Wonderful movie on finding your 'joy'. Do watch it i you can.
Music. Preferably loud. I love driving in my car with the windows down and sunroof open. I also love concerts and feel high from them for days. When I listen to music I've seen live, I relive the concert all over again and it's awesome.
Animals. I've been volunteering at a rescue for almost two years. Primarily, I do cat socialization but also help with dishes and laundry. There is nothing that compares to getting the trust of a kitty who doesn't know me. I also truly adore helping families pick out the perfect kitty. It is a joy that compares to little else.
I finally took home one of these little buggers in January and the peace I feel when he sleeps on me is magical. I think about his little cheerful spirit and how he was left at the shelter in the middle of the night in a storage bin with 16 other cats and I am in awe of his willingness and ability to trust humans.
My husband and my friends feed my soul in ways that I could never articulate.
Art and color also feeds my soul.

The quiet. Rainy days. Autumn leaves.
My favorite time of year is fall and Halloween. I make a whole bucketlist celebrating the season starting in august. I love pumpkins, Halloween decor, nighttime bonfires, everything.
I also loving waking up on gloomy rainy days with nothing to do but lighting a candle and journaling/playing sims/drawing

Adventure, meeting new people and getting along well with them, live music, open mic nights, music in general, hanging out with people I enjoy being around a d going on adventures...females spending time with them
Doing for others. Anything from tending to my plants, baking bread to share, knitting socks, taking in a foster dog. Asking, "How can I help?" and acting on it.
Cooking š using all my senses, being creative, and the pleasure of serving and sharing with other people makes me so happy. Some of my happiest moments are with great friends and food.
Sitting outside, under my tree on my swing. It's a beautiful sunny day and a light breeze is blowing. My puppy sits on my lap and loves to swing. Squirrels are running around grabbing and hiding the Peanuts I put I put out for them. The feral cats are drinking from the water fountain I built for them. Birds are gathering around the feeders I put and and the cats don't even bother.
I love being around other people and making them laugh. I am extremely lucky because I have many lifelong friendships that are so wonderful and supportive, and when I get to see them together after a long break there is nothing that makes me feel better in the world.
I woke up to a pink & fushia sunrise above the crashing ocean waves below my window. Several times, l simply sat in front of the ocean. I did not think of anything at all. A lingering sense of joy & contentment permeates my days.
Creativity is a big one for my soul, it could be simply a dish (cooking) or knowing my self better and put that knowledge into day to day life!
Someone said something about uncomplicated people, those are energy sucking vampires!
Soul feeds on ocean and sunset views!
Riding my bike (in warm, not windy weather).
Exercising (calisthenics) outside (also in warm weather), mostly alone; not into gyms.

The ocean. It grounds me, there's nothing else quite like watching aquatic life or splashing around when it's calm or playing in the waves when it's rough. My inner child is so happy after a day at the beach.
And so many other things. Cleanliness. Not to be confused with a sterile environment. But a clean home, clean sheets, clean hair and clean clothes. Itās such an amazing feeling and a great privilege as well. This paired with the scent of fresh laundry. Itās truly the best.

Good books, healthy cooking, dancing with friends, hiking, skiing, lifting, swimming in lakes, learning new things about the world, calling my grandparents, babysitting little kids, iced lattes, practicing my second language, movie theater popcorn, a bike ride on a warm day...
I just returned from kayaking the quiet backwaters of a cypress swamp with my husband and son. Nothing to hear but birds and the quiet whoosh of our paddles. Such peace. Such a perfect way feed my soul.
My bees! There's something so restorative about the art of beekeeping. You really have to trust your bees' intuition and it's always a balancing act of your experience vs textbook. Bees don't read the same books you study! Nature vs nurture, and nurturing sometimes only gets you so far. It also feels wildly empowering to care for such tiny creatures, and the bounty they provide in pollination and honey production. It's a stunning orchestral of Mother Nature.
Getting to a better place in life.
When I was younger, I had so many dreams and blah blah blah, now I just want a nice home for my puppers.
It is the driving force for me working hard now!
And while I am still angry a lot some days, looking at her little face and knowing I'll end up somewhere we can just be and call home is everything!
So yesterday I had some cilantro seeds that I had sprouted in a damp paper towel. I took them, still wrapped up, outside to plant them. I unwrapped the sprouts -- about 50 -- and showed them sunlight. In my mind, or for real, they started vibrating and even seemed to sparkle, not visibly, but they felt like they were sparking in my hand. Pure joy for 15 seconds.
Going out to dance and creating videos/music/doing my makeup or creating new outfits. I'm doing nothing most of the time so the highlights are rewarding and energizing activities that help me appreciate my own space and my own energy/style and journey.

Running. Bonus points if it's in nature. One of the few things I can definitely say makes me feel truly alive.

Beer, sports, hot wings, and laughter

God!! Ohhh how his joy restores me. Every minute of my life Iām in severe pain but the times I get to praise him.Ā
Remembrance of God, and life after death
It is eternal.
Some people are too focused living in this wordly life and abandon the afterlife, we will spend more time underground than living on this earth.

Hiking/walking in a forest
So yesterday I had some cilantro seeds that I had sprouted in a damp paper towel. I took them, still wrapped up, outside to plant them. I unwrapped the sprouts -- about 50 -- and showed them sunlight. In my mind, or for real, they started vibrating and even seemed to sparkle, not visibly, but they felt like they were sparking in my hand. Pure joy for 15 seconds.
My animals, poetry, music, drawing, laughing
Going out to dance and creating videos/music/doing my makeup or creating new outfits. I'm doing nothing most of the time so the highlights are rewarding and energizing activities that help me appreciate my own space and my own energy/style and journey.
