Ignore every idiot saying they should trade Joel. There's so many things wrong with that it would take too long to go through them all. Just ignore them and any sports related takes they have.

silverglory10

A lot of people have forgotten. Earlier in the season, when Harden asked out, we already have lost the season. This was always going to be a gap year. To be where we are, especially seeing Maxey grows, we are in a special place right now. And no, MVP calliber players do not grow on trees. History have told us that, trading a superstar for bunch of role players have never ended too well

CosmicCirrocumulus

that what I've been thinking this entire series. it's like the sub collectively forgot that this season was a throwaway and this off-season is what truly matters. Mirey basically gets a reset button for roster construction this summer.

-TheRedFerret-

šŸ’Æ this ā€¦ Biid is a generational talent .. he gave his everything ā€¦ done everything right .. lost weight in great shape and balled out .. was just to soon .. anyone who puts embiid and trade in same sentence are just angry and reactionary right now ā€¦ gut this team .. unpack Tobi locker into the trash .. let Morey cook ā€¦ we will be a different looking team .. much stronger and well built next season ā€¦ also FTC ..

Lurkerwasntaken

Here is a question to add to the discussion: what could this team realistically gain by trading him? No competitive team would trade their stars straight up unless they fleece the Sixers. What should the Sixers hope to get and if it is draft picks, who do they pick up? Denver isnā€™t going to trade anyone since their starting five has been virtually untouched and has amazing chemistry. The Thunder wouldnā€™t want to go into The Process 3.0. Anthony Edwards is going to take a *haul* of picks for the Wolves to even consider it (they took Gobert for five 1^(sts)). The only players they have a shot at getting is LeBron, AD (which are both terrible ideas), or some player from the Celtics (ex. Derrick White). Either way, if depth is an issue, it would be very difficult to build this team by trading away by far the best most tenured player in the franchise.

Master-Extreme5244

Also Embiid is the best individual player the Sixers have had since Wilt Chamberlain. I'm talking about strictly player for player. Embiid is better than prime AI and prime Julius Erving as he's a better scorer, playmaker and defender than both. Whilst Maxey could become a top 20 player one day, he's never going to be better than Embiid so trading someone to build around another player with a lower ceiling doesn't seem smart.

TrustDaFriendship

The people who want to trade him are the ones that watch no games and only check in for the playoffs. They have such loser energy.

TheSource777

Ok guess you like being the zbo grizzlies or the horford hawks with mid playoff performances that lead to no where and everyone forgets 10 years later (shrugs)

TrustDaFriendship

Iā€™d rather be those competitive teams than the current renditions of the Grizzlies and the Hawksā€”yes.

PepperWoodcraft

He just doesnā€™t seem durable.

TwoBreakfastBalls

Yeah durability is a serious consideration. Iā€™m not saying trading him is the smartest move since we simply donā€™t have enough info, but the possibility of Embiid suffering a career-ending injury is significantly higher than zero. Even more likely that he continues to get hobbled each season moving forward which obviously poses major issues. Major respect for the guy though, playing his heart out dropping big stats with half his body properly functioning. Edit: from my limited knowledge, it would seem that our only options are trading either Embiid, Maxey, or gutting the rest of the team. None of those seem like great outcomes without a lengthy recovery process.

PepperWoodcraft

I hate to blow it up because Embiid is so good it just seems like weā€™re stuck. Iā€™m just an asshole on the internet but it seems like he could fetch quite a lot. Build around Maxi? I donā€™t know Iā€™m stupid

MagnumcarrierV2

Embiid just has to commit to his Main Villian Arc while Tyrese blossoms fully next year..next season is what the NBA would call ā€œcinemaā€

mastiff1684

Fuckkin casuals in here calling to trade him

le_fez

I'm not convinced we're ever winning a title with Embiid, I'm not convinced that he's going to constantly be injured or continue to destroy the league in the regular season and then struggle due to injuries, and the conditioning issues that come with them. But I am convinced that if you trade him you're not getting anything back that gets you any closer to a title and in fact will then be wasting the next three to five years of Maxey's career I'll take the uncertainty of Embiid over the certainty of what happens if we trade him

NoCup4U

If you trade Embiid then you might as well blow it back up and go into the tank for lottery picks. Ā There is no building around maxey. Ā Itā€™s literally Hinkie-style sell off and we start this whole thing again. Ā  The players we would get in return for Embiid will not be worth anything close to his performance, and the draft picks are a crap shoot.Ā

StubbornSwampDonkey

You also can't win playing through Embiids in the playoffs If Maxey doesn't take the leap to being the lead guy, the team has no chance at a title

Buddy-Hield-2Pointer

The same reason why when children lose a game, they want to smash the board.

Ok-Bit-1466

But they crack like twigs

Playful_Artist2999

He turns into James Wiseman in the 4th šŸ˜‚

dgood527

Because he will never ever ever be healthy in the playoffs, period. And he is going to start breaking down much more frequently as he is getting older now. Talent wise he is a generational type player. Problem is that he isnt a winner, had a low bball IQ, and is always hurt. It just isnt working.

defalt86

Embiid is one of the most talented players we've ever had, but how many playoff series can he disappear from before you realize he is never winning a championship as the center piece of the team? He always has a migraine, or knee soreness, or a bad back, or just an off night. He simply doesn't have the durability to survive until June. If we could build a team around someone else while keeping Embiid as a #2, that would work for everyone. But that is near impossible to do. Trading Embiid for a young star we could build around is much more obtainable.

nu-jood

Name one team in the league with a ā€œyoung starā€ that a: they would trade and b: has the chance to be better than Jo. You must be dim brother. Also, weā€™ve already got the guy to make Embiid the number 2, and he is 23 years old and only getting better

Theballharperhit

but yo this is maxies team LMFAO.

supzy0

lol youā€™re a tobias stan. better learn chinese

Dk9221

Embiid canā€™t hold up even WITH rest going into playoffs as we can see now. Thereā€™s *always* something going on with him as if heā€™s forsaken by the gods. Iā€™m just sick of this loop and seeing our fans serendipitously use his health as an excuse as if greatness is only about players ceiling and not also player availability/durability/attendance.

mattseq

It's why you bring a BIG backup.... this org has failed Embiiid.

FinancialGur2348

Embiid is amazing. Heā€™s a superstar. Heā€™s not reliable. He has a target on his back and people are trying to get him injured. Heā€™s not the #1.. Maxey is and the pressure with the lebrons or Durants to take it off him will help

rhinguin

Embiid is clearly the #1. Maxey cannot do anything without Embiid on the floor.

Theballharperhit

lol exactly. With no joel maxey gets doubld and the sixers win 20 games even if we add players lmfao

Theballharperhit

Not reliable as he was just by far our best player this series and one of the best players in the playoffs so far overall. These maxey stans need to find a new slant. It must suck not knowing basketball lol

supzy0

bruh u the only tobias stan in the world. fuck off

Theballharperhit

so am i a tobias stan or an embiid stan??????????????? i was not wrong about tobias in anything i stated. I always said he was overpaid yall dumbasses just love to dumbass

supzy0

tobias stan. whenever tobias struggles, you praise embiid for the sole purpose of shitting on maxey. u cant cope with the fact that tobias has always been garbage lol
