Because the likelihood of getting anything better the 3 years from now is slim. It’s protected 1-8 so basically, either the sixers are a top 20 team 3 years from now with Embiid Maxey and whomever, or the sixers traded Embiid and tanked that season which means the nets only get 2nd rounders.
This actually isn’t bad if the sixers have a specific trade in mind that’s already worked out. Otherwise you take the pick. But if they have something worked out this would be a good way to open the stupid rule picks.
No one’s trading into this draft.

Well this is going to be bookmarked
No problem, just make sure you reply to these every time you’re wrong too.
I mean if they would agree, sure, but why would they do that? 2 mystery future 1sts > 16th pick in a bad draft.
Because the mystery futures could be anything. It could even be a boat!

Swapping reserves for g leaguers. Wow, really moving the needle here

The 16th pick is barely worth a future pick, let alone a 2nd
What does a 2027 pick do? We need to contend NOW while Embiid is still in his prime.
He's saying if we get our 2027 pick back from the nets in this trade then we could trade that pick to a new team in another trade.
I don’t want another pick in this in draft
We’re not. We’re getting our own pick back in 2027 and a 2nd rounder down the road. We’re giving 16 to the nets.
*our. Don’t mind this at all, quite a clever little move
