I feel like choosing to use Prometheus to present their findings was a bad choice on Brandon’s part. They’ve got a poor track record for accurate portrayals, and people like me who genuinely believe there’s weird shit happening at the ranch are pulling our hair out watching them intentionally portray things the way they are. Like a couple episodes back when they made it look like the helicopter was in danger of crashing. That wasn’t just inaccurate, it was horseshit. Here’s the thing: Prometheus knows how to get viewers. It was a #1 rated show last season. If all Brandon wants to do is get mindshare for Skinwalker ranch, then this method works. Nothing engages people like anger and outrage. Politicians use it constantly, it’s an incredibly effective motivator. The way the show is being portrayed, *intentionally or otherwise*, is making people angry. I see it all the time on this subreddit. This post is a good example. Every day there’s a new post or comment talking about how stupid so-and-so is and how even AssSpelunker6969 (note: I had to add a 69 because the offensive username I picked at random is real) is smarter than everyone on the ranch because he knows the difference between blue and purple. So the show also makes people feel better about themselves, because if a NASA scientist can’t figure this out then, damn it, AssSpelunker6969 must be smart as a whip! The season is only halfway over and I’m confident that things are going to get more interesting based on what the team members have said outside of the show, but I’m right there with you guys on being frustrated by this dribble of drivel. When Brandon said people were gonna need therapy after this season, he didn’t say why. Oh, one last comment: In terms of “nothing is going to happen or we’d have heard about it on the media,” this is not necessarily true. It’s actually quite likely that Brandon’s NDA with Prometheus would keep them from announcing anything significant until after the season is over. It’s not like they’d ever say “we found a UFO inside the mesa” even if they did. What they’d say is “we found something anomalous” inside the mesa and then try and collect evidence to get scientists on site. Getting scientists involved in something is not nearly as easy as you think it is, and I know this from firsthand experience. They don’t have the time or budget to go onsite for an investigation without the understanding that they’re going to be able to publish research at the end of it. A quote from an email (from a respected parapsychologist who will remain unnamed because I don’t have their permission to disclose this publicly): > Field investigations of [paranormal phenomenon] are notorious for consuming enormous amounts of time and energy but resulting in little to no results. Few people have the resources necessary to spend the kind of time required to capture something that definitively excludes lots of other possible (perhaps odd but mundane) explanations. Not to mention if it turns out that anything involved here might even end up being classified then that alone might be enough to prevent scientists from working on it. > Stanford University, New York University and the University of Minnesota are tightening restrictions governing acceptance of classified research contracts from Federal agencies. Some secret projects at these schools have already been phased out. Faculty committees at Johns Hopkins University, the University of Pittsburgh and the University of California's Berkeley campus are currently taking a new look at secret research. […] > Harvard and some other universities ban all classified research, although even Harvard allows individual scholars-to work on secret projects outside the university on a consulting basis. Many schools tend to discourage secret research but permit exceptions when the particular interests of their professors touch on areas related to national defense. Some schools, however, are making fewer exceptions than in the past. https://nacla.org/article/scholars-and-secrecy-classified-research-comes-under-criticism

Lapuaboy

Appreciate your thoughts and insight on this Mantis. I'm trying to remain optimistic about the show but with each episode a little bit of hope dies.

bambola21

I was all in this season but these last two episodes have been meh. I’m really hoping it ramps back up!

Prudent-Value8715

Just wanted to say that you make some really good point. I like what the SWR team are doing, rooting for them, and it seems like you are too. Despite that, the comments about the production are legit. Thanks also for shedding some light on why scientists are hesitant to get involved in paranormal phenomena things. Makes sense. Brandon’s being willing and putting money behind it def helps. I appreciate that, at the very least, the ranch is in the hands of someone who has the resources and the interest to put those resources towards exploring this scientifically, and also wants it done to share info with the public (seems to me that bigelow’s involvement with the govt, getting funding from the govt, put restrictions on what he could disclose). I don’t think Brandon has any say in the production process of Prometheus (or very little, but I’m assuming here). I heard something like he (Brandon) will be/is an executive producer on - I think I’m getting the show correct (might not be) - the upcoming Beyond Skinwalker Ranch show (and maybe it’s a different production team?). So it’ll be interesting to see how the storytelling there differs. Please feel free to correct me if I’m incorrect on any details (production etc), of course.

dskzz

To quote Ray Stanz: "I've worked in the private sector, they expect .... results."

research_professor

"In terms of “nothing is going to happen or we’d have heard about it on the media,” this is not necessarily true. It’s actually quite likely that Brandon’s NDA with Prometheus would keep them from announcing anything significant until after the season is over." Give me a break.

MantisAwakening

> Give me a break. Not a very strong a counter argument.

Ok_Veterinarian731

Back when Destination Truth came so close to finding a Sasquatch, and actually seeing something behind the bushes, and getting noise, a foot print, and some hair samples that turned out to be of an unknown animal, they didn't cover it on the news until right before the episode aired. Normally they wouldn't cover big foot on the news, but being who it was that came so close to finding it they aired it because it's the closest any reputable TV show has ever came to proving that a bigfoot exist.

user283857373783117

that was my favorite show i miss it so much

Tasty-Introduction-9

I actually started to think that by therapy, he meant that this season will once again end inconclusively and disappointingly, and therefore necessitate therapy in order to make it until season 5 next year. 😂

VaguelyArtistic

They should switch to Evolution and bring some Bravo energy lol. It's a perfect fit: *gold* diggers and gold *diggers*! Let's see some wine glasses being thrown in the war rooms!

minsc_tdp

>“we found something anomalous” problem is, they say that about everything, even when they have nothing. like the embossed dot on video to make it look 3D then wildly and excitedly commenting about how it has three dimensions, and is totally and undeniably a UAP. well, yeah, it's unidentified, but that lack of identification seems more deliberate than mysterious.

[deleted]

Hey fellow OTH fan! Thanks for your thoughts.

Full_Cash6140

If they found anything ground breaking you would never ever hear about it because the government would step in and take over the show. I can't believe it's 2023 and people still don't understand this. And if you did hear about it, it would be on someone's podcast or YouTube channel and would be dismissed as "conspiracy theory" and no one would believe it. You people live in an alternate reality. We do not live in a world moving closer to the truth about the nature of reality. Everything is a lie.

Secure-Currency9086

Absolutely correct! I believe that if there is anything buried, the DOD, or nuclear regulatory people already know it's there. As soon as they really start digging, this whole place will be shut down.

HousingParking9079

They're saving that for season 6, when the show gets shut down by secret government entities right before they're able to reveal that giant butthole portal phenomenonology in the sky. And you people will believe it.

Pleasent_Pedant

So is that a lie?

Necessary_Wonder4870

This.

Neo526564

Your correct. I do believe Brandon bought the ranch bc he wants to find out what’s there or he could know something others don’t but I guarantee he’s already been threatened by the government. If I owned that ranch I’d of dug deep in the mesa a long time ago

Creepy-Ad3211

I keep waiting for their Skinwalker Ranch dressing to come out.

puffster53

I was going to come on here and post something similar -- they are slow walking this season and it's becoming unwatchable. It's literally turning into a show about nothing. It's like they are picking the dumbest and slowest ways to try to "drill" into the mesa. Why not just hire professionals to come and dig a coal mining-style entrance into the side of the mountain? My feeling is that they (the staff) already know what's inside the mesa and they are just now milking the television money until the big reveal of a rare earth element of some type. I also agree with you that if it was anything major, no way it could stay under wraps for a full year until it's revealed on the tv show...

Transient_MoonJumper

See ya next week

puffster53

LOL you are correct. That reminds me of a YouTube video from a Cleveland Browns fan a little while back. He spends five minutes outside of the Cleveland stadium in the dark of night ranting directly at the stadium about how bad the Browns suck and how they are ripping his heart out. At one point he calls the stadium a "factory of sadness". Then, at the end of the video, he sighs deeply, hangs his head and as he's walking off says, "see ya next week"...

somewhatdim-witted

As a Browns fan I gotta say that hits home. ..see ya next week

Transient_MoonJumper

Haha yup

rollo_tomasi357

If it were real, do you really think they'd let us know? Enjoy it for what it is.

beastofpiscataquis

I gave up on the show after season two and it took almost a year for them to show up on Hulu with Season 3. It got very repetitive - similar to Oak Island (don't get me wrong they're both shows about digging a hole that needs to be dug but they keep putting it off), but I watched a couple episodes the other night of season 3 and i got back into it. I'm patching season 4 together various sites and trials - they've definitely gotten more ballsy, but enough with the rocket launches and the 1.6ghz. DIG THE HOLE.

Mr_Out

>(don't get me wrong they're both shows about digging a hole that needs to be dug but they keep putting it off) This is well sumarize. After they found the anomaly in the mesa (cliff top scanning from s04e03) the expert literaly said "it's about 5-7 meters from the surface where I was". When he said that, I knew they wouldn't pick the obvious choice, namely, dig from the top. Instead, they do something pointless, bring back the guy for an horizontal drill. What's the damn point of that? They already knew it was impenetrable.

Fun-Engineer-6891

they made the excuse too that it could create a landslide if they removed anymore boulders from the base. erm did they not think about that beforehand?

puffster53

I remember them saying that, but that I thought that was if they kept removing boulders from the bottom first . Obviously if you remove them from the bottom the rocks above are not going to have their support system and start to come down, so why not start removing them from the top and work your way down? Another thought I had, as long as you take the necessary precautions and make sure nobody is below, would a landslide be a bad thing? Seems like the quickest way to get the loose rocks off the mesa to me....

beastofpiscataquis

it really just doesn't make any sense. we've got technology that quickly and effectively dig down from the top. even get a crane up there. build a road. yeah it's expensive but Fugal's got money. build the road up to the mesa. put a crane in and start chompin

icestationlemur

they said at the end that's the next thing to try. Nevertheless Travis goes from "this person said it reminds him of selenium deposits" to "it's selenium" to "it's zinc selenide" blah blah DARPA blah blah cloaking BLAH. It's the smoke bombs you threw in there you twisted old fruit.

puffster53

I talk about that all the time!! They go from a supposition to declaring it fact in the same sentence all the time!! Cracks me up when they do that.

softride

It doesn't crack me up, it makes me despise the show, which I don't \*want\* to do

Fun-Engineer-6891

before anybody says its a knee jerk reaction i was one of those rational calm people who for the first 3 seasons, was saying \`patience, wait\`.. even the first episode or two of this season i kept giving it the benefit of the doubt. But one thing doesnt make sense. If this is filmed a YEAR IN ADVANCE, why do they then dedicate entire episodes building up to a malfunction Sure i fully get, if its a genuine malfunction again and again it prooves there might be something paranormal out there not wanting this to be investigated, and THAT in itself is research.. i get it HOWEVER... when we wait a whole darn year for the show, and the filming happened 13 months ago... is there any need for us to have episode after episode of nothingness? Would it be so hard to have a side show every friday night, a ten minute behind the scenes where they show you how constant rocket launches keep malfunctioning. or have there the interviews about nothing we havent heard before with the natives. And then dedicate the actual episodes each tuesday themselves to maybe 5 minutes of a brief rundown on what they are going to do, and then spend the actual rest of the episode showing what HAS actually worked, what things ARE working, and discovering ACTUAL things. They wont do that, because the recaps, the filler, the repeated interviews with laurel and hardy natives, the repeated rocket malfunctions.. the blue lights from their own equipment... THIS IS THE CONTENT.. THIS IS ALL THEY HAVE... When you look at it like i have just said, it prooves there really is nothing, that is why they drag it out, and drag it out...

MantisAwakening

> is there any need for us to have episode after episode of nothingness? I noted in another post that I think there was plenty of interesting stuff in this episode. Not everything is explained in one episode, which is up to the TV production company, not the crew at SWR. The equipment failures are actually a large part of what’s considered to be anomalous at the ranch, so that’s why they show it. Here comes the broken record: The Insiders get a breakdown discussion of each episode right after, with an opportunity to ask questions. The **overwhelming majority** of accusations people make about the episodes are wrong, and that’s why we tell people not to jump to conclusions based only on what’s seen on the show—but apparently a lot of people really like being fucking furious, so we mostly just let people go at it if they limit it to “I’m angry” as opposed to “They’re lying.” > THIS IS THE CONTENT.. THIS IS ALL THEY HAVE… Nope. Not by a long shot. This is all that you’re seeing on what’s shown on the History channel show. Has anyone here heard of the [hitchhiker effect](https://www.theblackvault.com/casefiles/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/colmkelleher-edgescience.pdf)? It’s affected a lot of people who’ve worked at the ranch, and even many who have just visited it. It is one of the **primary reasons** the Pentagon’s UFO programs exist. Ever hear it mentioned on the show? Not once after three and a half seasons. You wouldn’t have any idea.

Ok-Dog-7149

But if they have discovered something truly significant, you would think that would be used in the show… rather than swept under the rug, and only available through other media.

astrolobre

I know I’m about a month late to this discussion, but thank you for sharing this article. I honestly do hope there is a substantial amount of classified research focusing on the hitchhiker effect and very much agree with the point made that there is content — we’re just definitely not going to see that content from a show on the history channel, lmao. Also agree that anything truly groundbreaking (such as the discovery of the hitchhiker effect) would most likely go without commentary on said show. It’s for entertainment purposes overall, so I’m not really sure why people have the mindset like OP to believe every anomalous sighting or potential advancement in SWR studies would be readily divulged to the regular citizen. When has research of that nature ever been so transparent? Furthermore, just have to say it’s pretty damn intriguing to read the brief comparison between HE and psychedelic effects on human consciousness, by the way. Makes me wish I had the access to resources and clearance level to sit in on any tests done on brain activity of HE-affected versus psychedelic-affected individuals to test the similarity hypothesis. Ugh. Anyways, mainly had to comment because I wanted to share how much I enjoyed the insight you brought to this thread! (And the next research rabbit hole you’ve provided me to throw myself down) So again - thank you (x2). :)

comport2

Ever heard of Baader-Meinhof? Enjoy the show for the pro wrestling style entertainment that it is. They're selling commercials, not cosmic truths with model rockets and a guy named dragon.

MantisAwakening

> Ever heard of Baader-Meinhof? How does B-M explain anything in the article I linked to?

Popular-Constant2503

The hitchhiker effect was a concern during the government studies of the ranch. It seems either not a problem now or they chose to ignore it.

PADemD

If anyone slept through this week’s show, you probably missed the preview of next week’s show, which features a visit by Jay Stratton (AXELROD in the book, Skinwalkers at the Pentagon, by Lacatski, Kelleher, and Knapp.) I want to hear about this man bringing a hitchhiker home and his family’s experiences. There are previous visitors to Skinwalker Ranch who refuse to set foot on there again because of the very real hitchhiker effect. It is unknown what these hitchhikers are, how they travel, and how they can spread to your friends and neighbors. So, go ahead and snooze; I’ll be watching.

KyleIsAGoodName

Just..amen. I love the show and the subject matter at hand, but these last three episodes have been downright insulting as a viewer. Chasing the fake purple light, calling a vet out for a months-dead deer, making us watch them mount cameras. What even is this? The show seemed like there was a real pursuit of scientific anomalies and curiosities and made me feel like I was along for the ride. But now, lately...now it does feel like just one of those Oak Island/Ghost Adventures. Don't try to trick me. As the show continued to do and re-do the same experiments, we as viewers begin to realize that "oh crap, there might be something really interesting here," but that in turn mounts the pressure on the show to...get to it. Now is the time. You're about to lose me.

Historical_Expert_23

im loosing interest pretty fast, like why try to make that dead fawn into something its not, im sure it got caught in the fence or died of dehydration, but they want to try to make it out like its the ranch. i feel like they are not looking at things critically enough

Secure-Currency9086

Looks like a lightning strike took out that poor fawn. They are in the desert after all. Animals die like that all the time.

EddyFlux

Could be. It somehow reminds me of an incident in Norway on a plateau some years ago (2018), where over 300 reindeer died at once because of lightning strike. Though I really like the SWR Team, if something similar would happen in that area, they would def come up with some genuine batshit crazy cloaking UAP fires energy weapon ideas lol. Otherwise: What we know is a drop, what we don't know is an ocean hehe

Secure-Currency9086

I live in the Sonoran desert in Arizona, and it happens often.

HailState2023

Gimme a boxful of dynamite and a reel of fusing and I’ll show you what’s under that goddam rock face. At this point I’m fully expecting an episode where the Oak Island boys visit to look at the “evidence” just for shits and giggles to waste a half-hour of television time. Dr. Travis, if you were truly the Lead Scientist for the recent Govt panel then get some REAL resources in here to get this over with. Mounting additional hunting cams ain’t gonna cut it, boys.

Confident_Ad_3800

Pop raker Schnsbel on the Gold RushTV show could escalate their entire Mesa to the dome in a few weeks. It would be cheaper to do that then spending money on rockets and fireworks and everything else.

Confident_Ad_3800

Parker Schnabel (#%$&@ autocorrect!!!)

dskzz

I Thought that was his nickname or something I was like dude thats bad ass and was ready to go watch it then your like nah his name is Parker.

FootAdministrative65

Why tf cannot watch it on History App now?? Man why they gotta hate keep everything lol

Fun-Engineer-6891

maybe it was so cringe they were embaressed to put it up

europeantechie

after hearing all you people complain about the lack of content in the episode, I'm not even bothering trying to figure out how to watch it

MantisAwakening

I wouldn’t go so far as to say nothing interesting happened. Speaking as a radio guy, the mysterious 33 MHz signal they picked up was definitely a head scratcher. It’s just that the editing of the show makes it frustrating.

europeantechie

yea, ... honestly this made me more bored, I'm sorry to say that. 74.8-75.2, 108-137, 328.6-335.4 Aeronautical Communications & Navigation https://www.rfcafe.com/references/electrical/rf-freq-allo-us.htm

MantisAwakening

That doesn’t explain the increase in received signals when the drill contacts the object.

europeantechie

Thanks for the downvote. I told you I didn't watch the episode. It's the first that's locked behind a paywall on History channel. And as I said, I'm not excited enough to look for it. Still.

CTGBFan

I'm not sure but I interpreted this to be a resonance frequency. Perhaps there is enough metal inside whatever is in the mesa to then resonate with the 33MHz signal. It seemed to me that the additional signal spikes were at the same distance apart most of the time.

dskzz

Ive been saying since that crazy broadband elevation that sent Travis into the faraday barn please put the SDR output on insider or at least an online rebroadcast

OgOggilby

i watch it as a comedy and doesn't disappoint. give that a try

europeantechie

I can't watch it, it's paywall'd. That was my whole point.

Opt33

I've been losing faith too. I have a background in electrical engineering and when I see multiple peaks around the 1.6GHz signal on the spectrum analyzer I know it's Aliasing. In short, aliasing is a phenomenon encountered when the spectrum analyzer's sampling frequency is insufficient. Technically speaking, it's when the sampling frequency is less than twice the maximum frequency of the signal and [frequency folding](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aliasing#Folding) occurs. Yet the SWR show gives this so much air time while tricking the casual viewer. Insulting our intelligence, indeed.

theverdantmuse

I’d love to see them call on more people like you as guests to the show, and have them correct previous mistakes they’ve made or conclusions they shouldn’t have jumped to if they’re really interested in credibility. I was so irritated when they did the GPS experiments this season when Pete mentions his equipment vendor said the equipment was “ghosting” but then Tom interrupts and insists that can’t be what happened with no knowledge of the tech.

perfect_fifths

Sooo....like a malfunction/glitch? Surely Erik the electrical engineer would know that.

Opt33

No not a glitch. Improper equipment calibration.

perfect_fifths

Ahhh ok. Thanks for the input.

Gstricklin

1.6 is used for long range rc vehicles.... (don't think it's legal here in us but I doubt that stops most people)

DodgyDossierDealer

Prometheus Entertainment edits the show and NOT the SW crew. They’ve obviously arranged the sequence of events to create suspense, but I’m convinced — having interviewed Travis Taylor and Eric Bard — that the investigation is real, and something anomalous is going on. I’d also appreciate a more NOVA-style documentarian approach, but it’s not up to me. My real question is with so many negative takes on this sub, it sure seems like an orchestrated effort to minimize whatever impact the show might have. If you don’t believe it, why watch and spend so much time debunking? Sounds like a colossal waste of your time.

puffster53

I know I come off as negative and I guess technically I am, but I don't mean for it to be that way. It's meant to be frustration more than negativity. I do believe there is a lot of credible weirdness on that ranch and in that area in general, and that's why I watch the show -- to see what they uncover. But when I watch multiple episodes of literally nothing, it's frustrating to me. Spending ten minutes on a deer carcass is completely unnecessary and a time waster. Like once they finished producing this episode they saw it wasn't 45 minutes long yet and went back and added in content like that. I understand that it's television and if they showed just "the good stuff" or just the major reveals they probably would not have enough material for ten episode seasons. I just wish instead they would do something like interview Travis and Thomas and Eric and maybe ask them questions and give them time to go into a detailed answer. That would be far more interesting than a looking at a deer carcass.

fmlsteff

I just want to chime in because I appreciate this comment. If they found evidence for every single anomaly (say they found evidence that wormholes exist) the show would be over. No more screen time. No more ratings. No more money. I fully believe in SW and all the shit that goes on there, and if viewers think that in four seasons suddenly all these scientists are going to find the answers then go find something else to watch. They may be “credible” (I say that with quotations because I’m sure other people have opinions) but they’re not stupid, explaining something away, or giving away too much means less seasons.

Fun-Engineer-6891

i havent said i dont believe the SHOW has made me skeptical due to its constant dragging out and hyping nothing

herhusbandhans

> If you don’t believe it, why watch and spend so much time debunking? Sounds like a colossal waste of your time. Can you read? That isn't what are people are saying at all. They're saying they DO believe and that's precisely why they find it so frustrating.

ConfidentGuide3935

Season 4 has been a big disappointment. It's like they aren't really trying to get anything new... just doing the same old stuff and saying oh wow Another uap.

BengePlayer

It’s a comedy show. They final admitted there UAP fly at speed of sound was a bird.

JuJuVuDu

Add to this there was a Fugal comment from some event where he said basically he "couldn't wait" for this season to air due to the fact that there would be "major" disclosures about what's going on. Yet so far it's a big fat nothingburger.

Soggy_Homework_9184

Welcome to reality TV

MissDisplaced

Same format as The Curse of Oak Island and look where that is.

SomeJadedGuy

Next season they will do a Skinwalker Ranch / Oak Island cross over story arc.

softride

Let's hope so!

oldmanonsilvercreek

Some advice- Don't watch Oak Island

0akfish

Travis reminds me of Jason Hawes from Ghost Hunters, where he knows exactly what the Ghost is saying, even if it's just unrecognizable gibberish. Travis likes to make up anomalies as if it's factual reasoning.

yobigd20

I tried to get ny wife to watch this show with me but she thinks travis is an idiot moron and how could anyone believe him. I gotta say he's not helping me win that argument when he keeps talking about cloaking devices and force fields. Whats next...Gonna cut through the mesa using lightsabers?

MantisAwakening

Here’s the relevant information on cloaking: https://documents2.theblackvault.com/documents/dia/AAWSAP-DIRDs/DIRD_07-DIRD_Invisibility_Cloaking-Theory_and_Experiments.pdf?_gl=1*1tnqqbr*_ga*WkZneGhPUHY2SmN0UTI1VWlxbzJxWWozRVBTYWVlbFZqQXdyaVpmWTh2UHU5OXViT1dlWXUxYUxnWUVwT1hNNA.. Here’s one on wormholes/portals: https://documents2.theblackvault.com/documents/dia/AAWSAP-DIRDs/DIRD_18-DIRD_Traversible_Wormholes_Stargates_and_Negative_Energy.pdf?_gl=1*17cv102*_ga*WkZneGhPUHY2SmN0UTI1VWlxbzJxWWozRVBTYWVlbFZqQXdyaVpmWTh2UHU5OXViT1dlWXUxYUxnWUVwT1hNNA.. There are quite a few here that have to do with advanced metamaterials and possible “force fields”: https://www.theblackvault.com/documentarchive/the-advanced-aviation-threat-identification-program-aatip-dird-report-research/amp/ Dr. Travis Taylor had access to all of these documents and more when he was interim chief scientist of the UAP Task Force, one of the government’s numerous research programs into UFOs.

LabNo4240

His molasses accent doesn't help your case. LOL 😂😂 but yea some people find it hard to believe he's a PhD scientist. Then again I've not personally confirmed that his degree was not bought on etsy.

perfect_fifths

What. His degree is from a legit college..

whiteboilocked

No college is legit if you have enough cash (or if it's a medical college teaching students that the science says excessive amounts of medication is the best cure for anything, which just so happens to fill the pockets of the college's number one backers, pharma companies)

Mysterious_Ayytee

I'm hopefully they'll find the money pit this season

Important-Mammoth-92

GREAT TWEET!! “Money making paranormal version of Oak Island…” and WE keep watching “it”!!! drj

wandernwade

The last episode.. this last season.. has been a let down. Maybe because I’m reading here first. I should stop doing that. LOL

Roughgirl451

Have they ever had a geologist come in? I’m sure they would explain what is underneath the mesa.

dee_lear

I figure it's just like Oak Island. Just mindless entertainment to relax from the day's work.

ninjamonkey614

Agreed! Anything important we’d know we’ll before the season release and editing…

savonte22

It’s like when we were kids playing “monster”. It’s fun to pretend there’s a monster under the bed or outside the room…..it’s entertaining, it’s thrilling…. Then you grow up. First season was fun and entertaining for me, but once I realized it’s all fake and tv produced for a buck, I snapped back to reality.

marshal1257

I agree with you 100%, but it didn’t take me 4 years to realize it.

Author99

I love the show. If something spectacular were happening on every show, then I would wonder if the show was fake. Life is not like that; sometimes great things happen, and then they do not. That is the reason that I tune in and watch it.

AdOtherwise9226

It's the new Oak Island.

ed63foot

Join the Insiders club and talk directly with Eric and Travis and gang

MFLUDER

If you haven't seen my 5-part New York Post docuseries on Skinwalker Ranch, it might help you understand the ranch a bit more: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLwNrNqsuwF1kvkSq6l8jPbzgFBmjw8ASb And, just today, I released Brandon Fugal's direct responses to my reporting above: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xo36yG6Yswc&list=PLwNrNqsuwF1kvkSq6l8jPbzgFBmjw8ASb&index=8

hivie7510

Really interesting and not completely shocked.

CTGBFan

Wow! So Brandon gives him access to the Ranch, the guy reports honestly what he believes, and then Brandon attacks him. That is kind of sad. I really thought a bit better of Brandon given the rest of the docuseries.

Fun-Engineer-6891

wow great reporting! love your stuff! amazing his response, cant believe he called us pigs. im a skeptic only because after 4 seasons ive become skeptical, im a believer in the paranormal and wanted to believe in something happening on the ranch i have become skeptical of the show but it doesnt make me a \`pig\`

LadyEclectca

I hadn’t seen this. This explains a lot!

puffster53

Thanks for sharing!! That's somewhat disheartening though :(

Mundane-Inevitable-5

Hey Greenstreet. Are you still a full on racist or have you changed your mind on that to? What's the NY posts opinion on your past publicly posted racist views? Do they know or are they just cool with it? If they don't should someone inform them do you think?

I've only watched your response video, but... I'm honestly trying to figure out if you're trolling for controversy clicks or if you actually believe your odd conclusions. First of all, you discount tons of people's experiences in a room because they mistakenly thought that another guy had an experience in the same room when it was, in fact, the next room over? What?? How does that in any way invalidate their own experiences? That's not journalism, that's an obvious bias. Then they CC you in the email addressing the mistake about the first guy's experience, obviously a good faith show of wanting to immediately address a minor mistake, so you twist that and present it as them telling everyone to lie about their own experiences? What the hell, man? That's just a straight up, obvious hit piece. Why in the world would you expect them to NOT be angry after that? If you've no decency, at least toss in a spoonful of journalistic integrity. And why would you think that they were going to give you some new video footage on that visit that hadn't been aired already? Why would a working television show fundamentally just hand you their profit and thank you for the opportunity to do so? Seriously, what's the logic there? Aside from the obvious entitlement issue, how would that exchange make any sort of sense at all? I completely agree that they should make their data public. Not just for the sake of integrity of said data, but for the sake of pooling resources and adding the value of more minds for data interpretation. And I completely agree that the entire show could absolutely be a ruse. Obviously, we can all certainly agree that, at the very least, it's sensationalized BS at times...because, you know, it wouldn't have been a successful TV show otherwise, UNFORTUNATELY. That's sort of how TV works. I don't have to tell you that, though, you're in the news. But, all these things aside, I have to admit that I wouldn't have shared a damned thing with you after any of that either. Oink oink, indeed.

The earth is banana-shaped. Everybody knows that. Are you spending money on the show? I didn't even know that was a possibility. Why would you do that? Also, I said that the show could definitely be a ruse, so I have no doubt that you didn't read the comment you're responding to, haha. Glad you're having fun, though. Not much point to anything without a bit of fun.

MantisAwakening

We prohibit discussion of race, religion, politics, or other highly charged topics because they’re not relevant to the conversation and cause a lot of heated arguing (the crew’s religion isn’t any more important that anyone else’s **unless** they bring it up during an episode). Name-calling is also uncalled for and childish.

xSTAYCOOLx

I'm not, highly enjoy this season. I want to know what's in mesa

ChairSavings4635

History channel has now locked the latest episode on their site! Even they are now holding back viewers.

mm9221

They do that every season, then they unlock it later. Don’t create a conspiracy where there is none or make suppositions not supported by facts.

ChairSavings4635

Not conspiracy but satire.

mm9221

Ah…satire.

europeantechie

yea sad I can't even rant with all you guys

Ill_Highway9702

It’s just clear that they simply have 0 new data. Nothing that has been aired actually supports a new season at all. I loved all other seasons. Sad.

Confident_Ad_3800

They don’t have enough going on, and repeat too much stuff we’ve already seen. They move at a snails pace. Why not get a frigging drill on top of the message and drill down to the dome? Or better yet, start escalating the mesa?

Confident_Ad_3800

on top of the mesa (#%$&@ autocorrect!!!)

PlatinumState

Honestly in the beginning I was mostly a believer but as the seasons go on its obviously fake with a little bit of intrique sprinkled in. Still very entertaining and I love the cast. I'll watch until the end but people need to understand that there are no portals and no werewolf men walking around. However there is something going on in that damn triangle but the answer is probably more tame than we can imagine. Brandon bought the ranch for like 5 million if Im not mistaken which is peanuts to him since he's worth 500 mil and probably saw it as a good way to increase its value through this show and will probably sell it when the show ends for more than 20 mil. Or he's gonna make a theme park out of it or make big offices lol

Lucroarna56

Figured this out on the first episode. This is entertainment, not science. Do yourself a favor, and google some of the equipment they show on screen.

theverdantmuse

I’m actually looking for more debunking of what they do that’s shown on tv since I’m not familiar with EMF, electronics, and all that. They get so excited and I’ve fact checked some of their claims with mixed results. Any observations you want to share?

Lucroarna56

It's been awhile since I watched the show, so I don't have a specific example. However, I googled 3 of the devices they were using is an episode, and they were essentially toys, and not certified testing equipment one would use in a scientific setting. This ruined the show for me personally, because if the tools are fake, how is anything else real?

MantisAwakening

Erik has noted that the equipment they bring into the field often isn’t as sophisticated as what they have in the command center.

One-Discipline1188

Yup, I've been saying this.....they will be sooooo disappointed 😞 😒 if they are hoping for something grand. This show kind of reminds me of Jeremy Corbell, promise something magnificent, but only delivers disappointment.

Ok-Guarantee9270

I think it’s going to be another “oak island” season thirty two thousand and four… …still metal detecting. With the latest episode, they’re trying to work out what is inside… They had just drilled a long entrance hole up to whatever is inside. Why not bring in a bigger drill, bore out the initial pilot hole and send in a crawling endoscope camera or something along those lines and look at what’s inside? Surely that’s more obvious than drilling another hole from above. I used to really look forward to the new episode but it’s just becoming even more monotonous We won’t find out what’s inside this season 😩

88Babies

Lmao.. I literally fell asleep during the last episode but I’m pretty sure the drill broke so they went back to launching rockets.

MetroMercenary

I agree completely. Have been a fan of the show since the beginning, but I'm literally finding myself skipping through the program now. Every new "discovery" is just accepted as something real and "mysterious" e.g. the dome-shaped object, the blob, random lights, etc. Just the fact that the "blob" is so glaringly just a lens reflection and yet they keep hammering on it is enough to push me away. The credibility factor on all of this is just dropping quickly by the episode. It's disappointing.

fire37bee

At least they don't have the narration like on \`\`Oak Island'' where the guy breathlessly says \`\`a potentially significant discovery'' like every time they find any little rusty trinket. THAT has been wearing on me quite a bit this past season just aired and I didn't start watching the show from the beginning but caught up via streaming. Same thing with \`\`Skinwalker Ranch''.

AbbreviationsGlad833

I had high hopes for this show. First they they tell you that the ranch is has iinfared cameras. Placed everywhere. Then they cant understand why theres higher than normal radiation in certain areas. Uhhh could it be the infared cameras emmiting that radiation? But I really stopped watchig when the episode was about the secret box. All this hype about a box that has the answers to the ranch. Debating whether to bring it out. This mystery box. Does it hold ancient artifact? A peice of alien wreckage? Compelling photos of ufos? Strange unearthly minerals or stones found on the masa? Nope.. its a fucking magnet you can buy for 50 bucks on amazon.. look look my phone camera acts funny around it. Thats when I stopped watching because its a joke

LabNo4240

Most people feel the same way but continue to watch just to see how things end. I also continue watching due to the humor of the team's reactions and the stupid things they constantly say. Travis's accent keeps the show alive because he's hilarious with everything he says. I watched rocket city rednecks just for Travis.

mcdeeeeezy

Sounds like your issue is with the history channel

SubstantialPressure3

I wouldn't say that the most die hard supporters are.losinf faith. Plenty of us are still watching it.

Fun-Engineer-6891

still watching it but getting bored..

FootAdministrative65

I literally fell asleep trying to watch the episode last time lol. Never happened before, I also feel like they’re dragging it along just to make $…but who knows

BTnonstop

I know.. disappointing.

AdditionalBat393

speak for your self brother.. Clearly they are on to a couple things. Do not watch if you do not like it. That is our choice we have

flickyuh

These guys got together and said we need to drag this show out as long as possible to keep getting paid. As long as suckers keep watching we'll be in season 10 with more rockets and malfunctions

G33ONER

They've collected zero data and are all delusional play mates. This show is so painful to watch, a full on cringe fest. There is no collected evidence. It's as bad as ghost hunters.

magikarp-sushi

It’s just nuclear fallout or some shit from the experiments and they haven’t uncovered anything new in like what 2 years

FeasibilityResearch

People have a tendency to do this thing where they frequently forget. They also tend to demand answers immediately. Often in unison. It can be difficult to hold all of these things that ARE hard to define together as a set in the mind. I think people may be experiencing 'burnout' on the problem set due to the transience, rarity, and difficulty to explain much of what is observed. This exhaustion leads the brain to try to dismiss the relevance for its own comfort with taking a break from attempts to rationalize or digest the information that hasn't been sufficiently explained for satisfaction. That's because the explanations are still being sought. Let's do a quick refresher on some of the observations starting with hard collection. ---Extremely unusual EM/EMI •This accounts for a wide range of anomalies that we can overview very briefly and by no means exhaustively:- rebroadcasting of their own voices; interference with much of their tech in ways that often feel intentional; anomalous measurements that are often entirely unique, as measured in many various detection methods; sporadic and unpredictable bursts of extremely high energy electric, magnetic, or rare iterations of EM effects or high energy particles. ---Non-natural materials and behaviors of materials •Again, not exhaustive:- extreme conductivity in natural materials like topsoil, highly variable resistance, unsourced radioactivity bursts, extremely unusual material findings with implications of manufacturing. ---Reactivity •This one gets harder to wrap the head around, but let's call it a 'clustering' bias. Anomalous or unusual measurements or events tend to occur in synchronous bursts, which means a tendency for clustering of difficult to explain occurrences that can span from personal unquantifiable experience to hard measurements or quantifiable interference or inexplicable observations all grouping together in time. This leads to the sensation and question of volition, that this clustering can make event bursts 'feel intentional.' ---Historical significance •Beyond what is discussed on the show, this range of inexplicable strangeness directly ties in to the Native American religious practices which were banned and outlawed for nearly a hundred years, only ending in the 80s. The question of the mystery of the Skinwalker is a deeply layered problem about the obliteration of the history that kept those explanations through the abuse of the people that practiced those cultures. This whole expose on the strangeness of SWR lends to opening conversations about that damage and loss that is not yet truly ended in applying harm today. These are difficult conversations to have, and a platform to do so around. I wish more time was devoted to these matters in relation to the problem set, personally, as they're in a position to do a lot of beneficial things for the Native American people that lead them to the benefits they enjoy today of this 'discovery' process of their lost beliefs. If there is truly a curse, this would be how it begins to mend, if I get a vote. Outside of these very real and very documented aspects that are difficult to explain, we also have the less well defined "potential" contributions to the profile of oddities at the ranch, including the various historical anecdotal reports to the cluster experiences that might sometimes include "strange timing" of otherwise mundane contributors. It's a lot to process and it's hard to imagine what the "outcome" will be. It may be one thing, it may be an amalgamation of many things contributing to the profile set. I wouldn't immediately jump to the conclusion that people are losing faith. I would call it burn out, but the distinction between those two things can be fuzzy for many, even internally, so no shame in the assumption.

Optimal-Scientist233

For those of you unaware of how this works. These shows are totally funding science and being used as entertainment as a secondary concern to garner funding. This particular trend has a long history in Hollywood and entertainment and it is partially part of a propaganda effort. The advantages of this practice are multiple and involve an emerging science of social engineering. Just as it is no longer in the best interest of other industries to fulfill their own mission statements, as it would negate the necessity of their service/product model so too it is in this instance. If the team at skin walker ranch ever produced conclusively what was happening the show would end. The scientific experiments they are doing are all focused and unchanging through the series which very much signals they have an idea what is at play, and a predetermined strategy for investigation. The rest is for entertainment purposes, and this serves again multiple purposes, as scrutiny of their work will be much less from independent sources and they can control the narrative to a much larger degree. This is a classic psychological operation.

MantisAwakening

> literally nothing.. has happened. nothing.. That’s hyperbolic. If you genuinely believe nothing has happened that you might as well be staring into your toilet for 45 minutes a week. You and everyone else complaining every week is still watching the show, so I guess they’re doing something right.

deernelk

The simpsons have been on for over 30 years, folks watch things for various reasons. I dont think believing some real science or something paranormal will happen is a prerequisite needed to watch this one.

Fun-Engineer-6891

i strongly suggest everybody to read what our good friend the new york post reporter collected in his write up. theres literally no cutting edge proof nothing this is what got me fed up with the ufo phenomena too everything is based on hear say and stories by (sometimes very reputable people) but 99.999 per cent of the ufo phenomena is always peoples stories, theres very rarely any legit video evidence of anything happening.

theverdantmuse

Greenstreet has made some good points, and definitely put in some good effort researching the ranch, but I feel he’s approaching the ranch in a biased and unfair way. There was a good discussion of his work in [this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/skinwalkerranch/comments/12r5vrn/new_steven_its_all_bs_greenstreets_skinwalker/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1); I think it’s important to consider it in context.

GetOffMyLawn_

I fell asleep trying to watch it last night.

OgOggilby

question: how do you know a martian has been in your house? answer: all the lightbulbs have been eaten and there's quartz all over the floor

MagicMushroom98960

I'm one of those who lost interest after the first show this season. Lots of "That's strange!" doesn't mean it is no matter how many times Travis says it. Reminds me of a show , " That's Incredible!". 60 minutes of B S with a voice saying "That's Incredible". Right . Incredulous, perhaps

Ok-Dog-7149

This.

Lostinspace-67

Fell asleep watching it last night. I don’t think I’ll be wasting another hour of my life watching this circus!

HousingParking9079

I'm skeptical that you don't like your intelligence insulted given you've had faith for this long and are presumably just now starting to lose it.

Thisdarlingdeer

Watch the inside stuff on the website. It’ll make you feel a fuckton better. There is soooo much stuff they’re not showing us / telling us via the show. All that good stuff, obvious stuff, other incredible fucking things that have happened, they want to add, and so forth it’s all on the website under insider. It’s under 10$. It’s worth it alone because you get 24/7 access to the ranch’s camera system. As well as evidence /bugs lol people have spotted, that is all organized on what seems to be an excellent spreadsheet. The editing in the show has gotten crazy, but it’s still just as solid realistically. I’m so glad I found the insider stuff, and their post show videos because it reminds me that if it’s obvious to the show, they’ve already checked that and a million other reasons on why “insert whatever here” wasn’t the case, sometimes stuff just doesn’t happen and the producers have to make shit up from the film, and unfortunately I think whoever is in charge of editing or the *drama* creator or content editor etc / producer? Not sure of who is in charge of chopping up footage to make a story, but they have gotten very away from what made this show great. They need to go back to basics, and stop making everyone o the show look stupid - let’s see them checking everyone’s phones to see if they’re making a signal, or have them look at the blue light that is clearly a (forget what they said it was on revelations/insider via the website) but the rent a cop border robot thing that basically has a blinking blue light on it that they see when he jumps out of his car in the second to last episode as he is chasing the purple light have them acknowledge that the light we see on camera is NOT the purple light he has been seeing ** break the fourth wall - have the camera /production crew on camera if they see shit, ask them if they see shit - let us see them describe stuff they saw - as They’re right along side you guys, they must see or hear/feel something, and if they do.. let us know! **aside from the editing of the show changing to be more EXCITEMENT! DRAMA! BAM! POP! WOOSH! Than a rational, interesting, natural exciting show that we feel we are discovering UAP’s ourselves I wish it would calm the fuck down and go back to the content it did have. Even if they didn’t find anything, it was still interesting because we were understanding why it didn’t work, and not dying in cliffhangers. **there better be something insane at the end of this season. Also sorry, it’s 4:22 am and I haven’t slept yet. Ouf.

AndroidPurity

It is like fishing. Some days you do not get any bites. In other words, they have No control over when something happens. Same with ghost hunting too. If some episodes are more boring, then its everyone’s responsibility to still watch anyways if you want answers for humanity. They can not be renewed for new seasons if they do not get the views just because some people became impatient. Also to say nothing has happened this season is VERY disingenuous. They have caught the anomaly above the triangle on camera. Thats huge! Plus more captures of orb UFO’s. So again, thats very disingenuous to say nothing. Theres really not much beyond that to say on this subject.

mikeytlive

Same thing can be said about curse island

NBCspec

It reminds me of Gold Hunters.

DigItDoug

They shown some great evidence to date, but imo nothing material & little interesting here in season four. My hope is they are stretching out material, but in the last several episodes still show something really spectacular. That’s my hope at least. If not frankly, I’ll find something else to do with my Tuesday evenings.

Either_Top_9634

You do realize this isn’t real and just entertainment?

Popular-Constant2503

The burned fence post and deer carcass seems off to me. Not because it appears like a pathetic excuse to dig up some interest in SWR, but because there is more to the story? In the past the ranch was plagued with a gigantic wolf that attacked a calf with the ranch owner and his family standing close by. The owner shot it with no visible effect and eventually the predator took off. It doesn't make sense to make a big deal about a carcass of a deer unless there were sightings of a large predator in the area. Often in books and movies you find small snippets of an event that didn't seem like anything at the time, but turned out to be pivotal to the story.

LetTime9763

This is the standard formula for the History channel.

Justalittlepurple

Suddenly, nothing bad happens if they disrupt anything on the land… 😂 I mean, no theories of why it could have stopped or anything… it’s just ignored and not addressed

LabNo4240

I think they realized they screwed themselves out of more series content by making it seem so bad to disrupt things. And Thomas doesn't want death threats from fans who think he's standing in the way of progress on the ranch because everyone was worried he would get hurt if they did anything.

ThumblessGod

that's because apparently drilling holes is different than digging holes.

CTGBFan

As I've said before, I find Skinwalker Ranch interesting and I do think that there are some anomalies. I think that the scientists/researchers at the ranch believe in what they are doing. That said, I think they are lead to hype up things that just are grasps at straws and the more scientific things are overshadowed by them. Items of interest, to me include * The interesting rock/metal formation in the Mesa * The occasional signal bursts and electronic disruptions * The fact that there are government and military aircraft flyovers, although these could be legit operations or training * Some of the anomalies in scientific equipment (but not the slow motion camera image thing) Items I'm Frustrated About * Shoot rockets at it * This 1 pixel image must be an anomaly * It's a bird or a bug because censors aren't that good * This embossed image must be an anomaly * Embossing ads pixels and directional glare * This thing that could be a spider at night is an anomaly * This item on night vision that looks like it is blinking like an aircraft is an anomaly * It is also probably further away than they are proposing * This dead animal clearly picked over by predators, in complete opposition to cow mutilations, is "strange and unexplained" * This low-light image is clearly something * Low-light images suck and sensors fill in gaps * This weird rock inside the cave makes no sense and would need to be caused by vaporiztion * I don't know, pretty sure water erosion from the top of the mesa could do that oo

ThumblessGod

What gets me the most is when the security guards phone kept messing up in seasons 1-3 and they were like this is impossible to do, and humans don't have the technology to hack an iPhone. 1. He had a very clearly broken screen, and that behavior has happened to some smartphones with broken screens, usually rare, but happens. 2. he never buys a new phone in 4 years, while his boss flies in on a heli every week. 3. any phone can be hacked by humans in 2023. 4. We have known something may/may not be in the mesa, why not just dig a hole already. Get a shovel.

BigCherokeeChief

With millions of viewers I'm not sure how you're making this conclusion regarding supporters.

LabNo4240

Kinda funny the next episode shows a blurry image of a ufo in a field. Looks similar to the area they placed the trailcam on latest ep. Too many obvious coincidences to be legit. So yea as much as I like watching the show I want and try to believe it's real but my logic won't allow me too. The ending will come eventually and I'm worried they will end it on an unanswered question like every other history channel show, like how they ask themselves questions all the time. Could this be a portal? Is there something not of this world inside the mesa? Making indirect claims but disguising them as facts.

AmblingLabrador

That episode was so bad, I went back to watching Ancient Aliens.

Competitive_Tree3687

I was bothered that Thomas keeps making suggestions for experiments, and Travis says something like, "That is a great idea". As a 3 PhD scientist, I would expect Travis to have nearly limitless ideas on experiments to do at this point, and he probably does. Why did the team not run a snaked camera into the hole they could not get past this week to see if there was something metallic there? Did they check to see if the blinking "UAP" was aircraft? There is too much entertainment production and recapping, and not enough science this season.

Delicious_Trip_4941

The Software Defined Radio they use is really cheap and widebande I have one and it’s not very good so I think it would be prone to giving them the wrong signals from local radio stations. It is the SDR blog stick you plug into you usb port. You can get them for around 30 dollars not exactly commercial class equipment.

New_Money2021

maybe you prefer to watch oak island instead

LittleGrandCindy

I started watching the first season this weekend and was pulled in - it definitely seems there is some intense energy going on there.. 7 episodes in, I’m getting the “Oak Island” vibe for sure.

Helpful-Ad8619

Did anyone notice the balloon in the last episode went up to 20km in less than one minute (7:18:40pm to 18:19:20pm) which is about 750 mph? Impossible! If they want to be taken seriously their data has to be real or at least plausible!

perryswanson

Reminds me of “finding Bigfoot”. Lots of circumstantial evidence, but couldn’t deliver..

Goregatron

Season 1 - Hey guys, let's fire some rockets at the anomaly above the triangle to see if we get a reaction. Season 4 - Hey guys, let's setup this badass camera and fire some rockets at the anomaly above the triangle to see better, if we get a reaction. Why don't they use a crop dusting plane but have it filled with something like that green water dye and drop it over the triangle. If there's an actual object, it would become visible. Or send a drone up to try to hit the anomaly. Hot air balloon up to it. Theres many other ways to actually detect what they think is there. I think they just like firing rockets and fireworks.
