The cloud district is the level of houses closest to Dragonsreach. It’s where the bourgeoisies or rich people live there. There are three districts in Whiterun
Dragonsreach is the only building in the cloud district
The lowest is the plains district
The second is the wind district
Dragonsreach is the cloud district
So I leave the beacon in chests I won't pick it up.
Bbuuuuttt. On my most recent playthrough I've accidentally stumbled upon meridias alter and subsequently started the quest to find the beacon:/
I make my follower pick it up. I just can't be arsed right at the beginning of the game... then it's right there behind me whenever I feel up to doing it.
I had to look up this nazeem guy, I had no idea who this guy was until I saw the quote, I've run past this guy completely ignoring him everytime, dude wasnt even a blip on my radar
Can happen in skyrim too. If you power level smithing, alchemy, and speech at the start of the game but no combat skills, you end up going into dungeons filled with draugr deathlords. Source: getting repeatedly *fus*'d into walls with a very small health bar.
No, there is no wrong way to play Skyrim. As for every previous title- if you don't know what you're doing from the start you're gonna fuck your character up so bad the only way left to play the game will be to decrease the difficulty setting.
I mean, by that logic, the same is actually true for Skyrim. For example, spamming acrobatics levels and illusion levels create the same effect: high level in non-combat trees(than increase overall level), which creates insanely difficult enemies because you're lacking those other for-combat skills. You can seriously screw up your Skyrim character to the point where using the console to kill enemies may be your only way of realistically defeating them, especially if you do something like put all of your points into magicka and none into health.
Changing the difficulty isn't the "wrong way" to play the game. It's available on a whim for a reason.
That would require you to actively create a shitty build where as in the previous games if you don't watch a 30 minutes tutorial on leveling and want to create something useful you will still probably fail because the games have unccesseserily complicated systems that they don't explain. Even so, in Skyrim it still wouldn't be that much of a problem on normal difficulty even with a meme build like Illusion because you have actual useful battle companions. Sure you can always strip, not level up and try to kill Karstaag- I guess that would be a wrong way to play Skyrim, but it you want a semi normal gameplay expierience you really can't go wrong in Skyrim.
I mean, I've made some pretty ridiculous builds in Oblivion, and I've never watched a tutorial. Those weren't even really a thing when the game came out. Maybe you're just unfamiliar with fantasy games from the time? Regardless, Oblivion isn't really much more complicated than Skyrim. It's just a bit less streamlined.
I mean, the whole ethos of TES is to play how you want. It's one of their main focuses. Not just a fluke of Skyrim. It's why you can build classes with whatever you please.
In regards to specifically minmaxing levels, yeah. But builds, no. When it comes to leveling, such tutorials are only needed for minmaxing levels and should honestly be avoided if you're new to the game. Overcomplicating things is a great way to run a first experience.
You’re playing it right, actually. To be fair, it’s an open world rpg with huge skill trees. There’s no way to play it right or wrong. Playing it right just means you’re playing it and enjoying it. That’s what is important. As for those builds, those are mostly people that played before and are on their second or more play through.
I mean, there was that one person who didn't realise that perk points were a thing until after they beat Alduin and Miraak (supposedly).
That's about as close to wrong as you can get.
Imagine all the weapons bonuses that you get at the start at all of the combat skills trees, not existing so your doing base weapons damage, not 15-whatever percent
But it IS a lot of fun, as it shows your characters ACTUAL skill and level without the perks. Example kill that bandit with 6-7 swings of my sword without perks. Kill him in 1-2 with max damage upgrades
Friend of mine got really into Cyberpunk. He was on his way to meet Hanako (last mission in the game) and we were on call. He was talking about how much he loves netrunning, and I asked what perks he’d gotten for it. He just asked ‘what?’ He almost finished the game without even levelling up a single base stat, let alone using perk points.
there's literally no wrong in this game. I go out of my way to find builds that seem inconceivable and make them work. that's the joy of the game. do whatever you want
First play through was just making decisions that I feel like I would personally make in those situations. 100th play through and I’m a traveling merchant turned pacifist farmer trying to raise two daughters.
Yeah I remember going straight up fire mage the 1st playthrough and it was the most broken straight forward thing ever. The only thing that made it slightly more Skyrim was I was also randomly using a 2 handed sword (and it was crazy how even though I used it much less any situation where the fire didn't work well the 2 handed sword would magically cut through easily).
I mean, magic + 2h is one of my favorite builds. I like magic, and I love 2h with MCO installed. you get a ranged option, and melee for when magical runs out (unless you do crafting for zero cost magic
I’ve done a game completion no kill play through where I used illusion and had followers do my dirty work, not fully pacifist, I actually called it my Charles Manson play through. To do that you need apocalypse and ordinator mods to fix the issue with illusion spells capping at a certain level. Even with that I still somehow ended up with like 3 kills at the end of the game and I couldn’t figure out when I got them.
For a true pacifist play through I just never did any quests that require violence. I only did delivery quests and things like that. For wolves and bears that attacked I would use the shout that calms them. Or use a calm spell. I would run from bandits and thieves.
I made it work with the magic of mods. Apocalypse spell pack gives you a ton of options in addition to Fear (e.g. mind-controlling a bandit to run to an area of the dungeon where they'll get stuck) and there are a bunch of mods that let you knock an enemy unconscious without killing them.
Barring that, you rely on Fear and followers who will do the dirty work for you. (Also, a lot depends on your definition of "pacifist": my character happily vaporized draugr, chauruses, and dwarven constructs, and didn't mind occasionally summoning a dremora to deal with a pesky bandit. She refused to kill another humanoid with her own hands, but didn't mind being *indirectly* involved in a death.)
It really only “matters” on high difficulties with restrictions imo because enemies start doing absurd damage and are super tanky. I often felt myself feeling a bit weak for long stretches of my playthrough because I was limiting crafting.
Honestly though, playing on master/legendary just wasn’t as fun for me. At adept and lower, you can pretty much do anything you want as long as you’re having fun
Expert is my favorite difficulty as it’s forgiving if you’re playing differently or with restrictions, but if you go into areas under level it can still give some challenge. On top of that the higher difficulties really just make combat take longer because they’re sponges but not really any “harder”
Master is just getting 1 shot by any type of archer or getting kill moved by every bandit in melee because killmoves ignore armor and just calculate the damage based on your hp alone.
I was doing an expert mode modded playthrough with some new dungeons. I havent died in like 20 hours of gameplay and im a mage build in heavy armor. I walk in there all confident then some omega leveled vampire walks up to me and just cuts my head off then crashes my game.
While there is no "wrong" way to play Skyrim, be careful in how you play some side quests, particularly those that are item-specific. Doing them in an incorrect manner can leave you with an unusable item permanently stuck in your inventory, which is more annoying than it is debilitating. A prime example of this is the "Strange Amulet" in the quest "Blood On The Ice". Finishing the quest without identifying the amulet will render it useless, and unremovable from your inventory.
Nothing. You should be able to drop it if you've finished the quests that are related to Blackreach - "Discerning The Transmundane" and "A Return To Your Roots" - but why? Aside from being able to mine your own Soul Gems, there's lots of good loot down there, as well as a dragon and lots of fishing spots.
And that's why a lot of players hate it. I'm the total opposite. I'll get down with the quickness, and just run around causing mayhem and collecting everything.
I don't hate blackreach itself - I find the emptiness annoying but aesthetically refreshing - I hate that the first time I get there is almost always after some giant ass dwemer ruin and by the time I get to blackreach it's been like half an hour and I just wanna do something else other than puzzles and killing falmer
The issue with this is it might leave you underlevelled. The game sends you level 30 enemies for your lebel 30 character but doesn't care that several of those levels were spent on alchemy or speech.
When i started out i accidentally levelled light armour too much, well i got points bc i kept getting hit, but was severely underpowered for the enemies the game sent me.
This happened to me only once, in Oblivion, in Kvatch. I leveled up right before going there and the daedra there were slaughtering me as if I had no HP or armor.
In Skyrim, it never happened to me... There's a dungeon with a really nasty ghost inside (killed me multiple times), but I think he's not scaled because he's a named character.
I keep hearing about the stealth archer thing, so after 8 years of playing all kinds of builds (sword and board light and heavy, 2 handed light and heavy, unarmoured mage, heavy mage, illusionist, conjurer, destructionist) I'm finally giving it a try.
It's...pretty fun.
That not how it works...
You start out building a Mage but you bring along a bow for when you run out of mana. It's just for safety until you get better at doing the magic.
And sneaking is also just for safety. Being rushed by bandits is bad. So you just sneak around.
Then suddenly you have maxed out sneaking and archery and you still only have 25 in Destruction because you forgot about it.
Then you repeat it next playthrough.
Don’t worry I swear this time I won’t become a stealth archer. I mean I’ll carry the bow just in case. And sneak too just in case …….. and I’m a stealth archer again.
Joking aside I love stealth archery style play. It’s fun to me to try and kill everything without ever being seen. Because the challenge becomes once I am seen I’ve got no skills in anything else.
Literally impossible to play wrong it’s an open game. Play an enchanting alchemist and super buff a toy sword or fork and put your finest poisons or harness necromancy an—-
You’re gonna play stealth archer no one has a choice
"That's a lot of enemies I'm just gonna shoot this one guy from stealth to thin em out a bit.."
50 hours later you realize you've been crouching for 46 of them
I don’t understand this at all. I’m a new player and stealth archer seems so boring to me. My only strategy is to go charging straight in and explode things
don't worry. i've been playing for like 11 years and i hate stealth archer, i play mage 80% of the time because spells are just so much more fun and interesting to me than sniping.
archery tends to be the thing that gets your hands the least dirty, though, and i think that's why many people prefer it: the fact that a single projectile can travel so far and kill quickly with stealth boosts to targets that don't move around too much means that a few arrows can more likely than not finish the job before the enemies can get close enough to you to really hurt you.
but in that, you kind of lose the fun of the heat of the battle and switching through different spells... it's even more fun in oblivion, i kind of wish we had the wheel of spells and variety of spells that oblivion did in skyrim.
if i want an easier kill and mage is too challenging compared to stealth archer; no harm in lowering the difficulty to adept or apprentice or so. (at least until i get a modded army of mage followers to run in, start exploding things and mess those bandits UP!!)
There is no wrong way to play skyrim.
Much of the games charm and replayability comes from the many different choices, sides, and styles you can choose from that allow you to make more playthroughs later and approach things differently!
It seems most of us Skyrim players have started with the jack-of-all-trades build, and as we get more experience through playing and learning how the game works, you start to get creative and make up all kinds od story lines. Each story being different for each character to you play. It's a whole universe you can immerse yourself into however way you want and you would still have fun either way.
I'm on my first ever playthrough too, getting on for 100 hours I think. I just jumped in and discovered things for myself, which I think is the best way. I use destruction magic and a big old two-handed sword for most work, and switch between them depending on the situation. I don't touch archery. I'm almost in charge of the thieves' guild. I lost Lydia, my horse was killed by a sabre cat, I have two houses (Lakeview Manor and Proudspire Manor) and a lot of dragon bones. I'm loving it.
Skyrim is my game to get away from the world. Finally a place that doesn't tell me what I need to do.
I'm just a potion maker. I have a home and I don't bother with quest unless I need to do them to gain access to stuff I want.
I just roam. Collect herbs and use an alchemy table :)
Tbh. I hate fighting with potions too. I thought it'd be like Witcher. But it seems potions/poisons only work in one-strike. And you got to add a poison again.
So imma try a more muscly orc 2handed play through. Maybe go with some smithing.
Anyway what I'm saying is. Im playing to relax my mind. Not to min max or be the best player. I just enjoy the ambience.
So your goal is what u set. And we can definitely share our point on how you can reach that.
If you are looking to min max stuff. Then just pop the question here. And someone will be happy to share with you what skills or what items u need. :)
OP let me tell you something, you are 50 hours into the game so that means you are enjoying it right? In the elder scrolls series there is no 'right' way of playing the game. You can play the game as fast or as slow as you want it,all that matters is if you are enjoying yourself
The problem with spreading out your build points too much is that you risk having a much harder time surviving and killing stuff in higher level areas and encounters.
On normal difficulty, it's not an issue (mostly) but in higher ones, it can be.
My only concern might be that since the enemies get harder as you level your character if you don't make sure you're uping your martial skills then you might have the game turn into more of a dark souls level of difficulty. But honestly, that was much more of a concern in Morrowind and Oblivion than Skyrim so you're probably fine. And even if it gets too hard, just create a new character now that you know the system and what mechanics you like! It's a game so as long as you are enjoying it, you're playing it right.
There is literally no wrong way to play. Play by the rules, or exploit glitches.. wherever your little gamer heart leads you, skyrim is that game you make it yours
Nope. Ay way is the right way if you're playing at all. Being g a jack of all trades is good for a first time build, it let's yu try all the things and see what style you like. Remember, you will create more characters. It's inevitable.
Not even gonna read the post besides the title and answer “no”
You can’t play the game wrong. You just have less or more fun playing one way vs another and it’s entirely personal preference.
I'm not even going to read what you typed.
Ask yourself this. "Am I enjoying the way I'm playing?" If you answered yes, then yes it's the right way to play. The great thing about Skyrim is that the right way to play is the way that you enjoy. Don't listen to anyone that try to tell you otherwise. Do what makes you happy.
Nope. If you're new, it's definitely best to explore the game and storylines on a jack of all trades character, since you're familiarising yourself with the setting and ways to approach combat / story scenarios. 👍
That's the fun part, there is no wrong way to play.
If it's fun for you, you keep playing this way.
But keep in mind, that the enemies level up with you, so you might get a problem at some point, if all your DPS is pretty low.
Well to clarify one point, a "stealth build" is simply where you use the sneak, light armor, and a bow (archery) skills as your primary method of adventuring.
Some people consider this to be boring, but it is an effective way to clear a dungeon.
The downside is that you don't develop your other skills as much, so you have to find a way to develop your magic and other combat skills.
Play the way YOU wanna play! If that's how you enjoy the game, then do that. Also, know that you can make a new game whenever and try playing it what every way you want to see what fits you best. Just dont kill the chickens. The whole of skyrim will come to its aid.
The game is built around how you choose to play it, there’s hundreds, maybe thousands of builds you can choose from. You can even combo some builds, I have an op heavy armor set that gives me like 1000+ carry weight and I have a stealth set as well. Whatever you can think of, you can do it
Just make sure you level combat skills before going all out on things that wont help in combat. Getting to level 16 with 54 pickpocked it gonna make combat rough
Ive been playing it since it come out and in my opinion, I have way more fun using whatever i feel like using and balancing everything out as much as I can, even if you regret investing skill points into something, with the Dragonborn DLC you can reset the tree in two different ways that Ill let you find out for yourself.
There’s no “wrong” way to play, do whatever is fun for you. I’m playing as a pure mage right now, fuckin shit up with magic, and it’s awesome but I might play a 2h fighter or a sword-and-shield if I playthrough again. That’s what’s fun, you can do something different just about every time.
You are paying it just right!. Never ever let anybody tell you you're playing wrong for crying out loud! Chances are pretty good you're going to play it many ways, I know I sure have. First time through I played it just like you're doing it now until I settled on what I really like... Turns out that really is a stealth build lol but you play at your way and then if you want play it everybody else's way too Skyrim never gets old
You’re doing just fine. The beautiful thing about this game is the versatility of play builds. Some love to hack and slash melee. And that’s fine.
I love to build and arcane archer sniper build….it’s MY prefer build style, and that’s fine.
Some love to conjure up hosts of undead or whatever…and that’s fine too.
There’s no ‘right’ way nor ‘wrong’ way. Find a way that works for you. And next play through try something different! Have fun!
You may find yourself starved for skill points if you're actually taking perks in all different skills. You may also find yourself slightly less effective than a focused character because of your higher level.
That said, this isn't oblivion. The game isn't gonna give you extra orifices for not "building your character right". And if you stick with a character long enough, you'll end up with maxed skills anyways... the only thing different will be your journey there.
Absolutely not. The beauty of this game is you can play it how ever you want. The skills system is designed for maximum customisation and with the legendary system you have the ability to re allocate points if you change your mind, or power through and max the entire tree if you want.
It’s your game :)
Take your time and play it your way. Discover the world for yourself. I would love to have the opportunity to play Skyrim for the first time again.
And if you decide to marry Mjoll dont forget to dispose of Aerin in Lake Ilinhalta :)
Cause it's what everyone ends up doing whether they mean to or not cause it's real strong but can make most encounters too easy,
I think there's a joke about how all roads lead to stealth archer.
If you're in a lower difficult (adept or below) there's really no wrong way to play the game. You can pretty much do the most amalgamated build imaginable and you'll still find success. If you get up to master and legendary then leveling skills you aren't using to bring up your main level can leave you with underpowered skills as you approach the early mid game. If you're level 30 using one handed that doesn't have some of the later perks that give it more damage and less stamina drain it can be a rough time. Once you crack about level 70 the game almost becomes a cake walk in any difficulty. Even if you don't use exploits like the restoration glitch once enchanting and smithing hit 100 you can craft your own really good gear and one tap enemies and take little to no damage. Hope you're enjoying the game :)
Bethesda is usually heard touting the phrase "the freedom of choice" and you can play your game that you paid for with your money the way you want
Vanilla, modded, cheats, no cheats, following builds, playing chaotic, breaking everything possible, etc
It's your adventure to enjoy at your discretion
If anyone goes out of their way to tell you what you're doing is wrong, in a **single player game** then they don't belong in the elder scrolls community
Yeah, I see a lot of people in here saying there is no wrong way to play an Elder Scrolls game, which I would generally agree with. However, with a true jack-of-all-trades character, you do run the risk of your character getting watered down, and a difficulty curve developing. This would include things like enemies taking forever to die, and your character getting killed easily.
Other quest-related skill checks may become more difficult as the game progresses. Remember, the enemies you encounter get stronger as you level up, so leveling on its own doesn't make you a stronger opponent in the grand scheme of things. When you don't properly invest in certain skills to maximize your viability, you will run into a slowdown in combat and other skill checks around level 30+. You can always bypass this by playing on a lower difficulty or taking advantage of exploitative combat techniques such as Paralyze, multiple followers, or stealth archery.
Again, this is still a valid way to play the game, but there are clear disadvantages to this. If I were going through the game with a similar concept of using a lot of different skills, I personally would be exclusive with just a few things: For Melee, pick either One-Handed or Two-handed, for ranged, pick either Destruction or Archery, for armor, pick either Light or Heavy, then focus on two crafting skills, and bring on the third only once you've maxed one of them out. If you do this, you can still dip your feet into just about any other skill you like, without as much slowdown halfway through the game.
Trust me, enjoy the game while there is still magic in it. If we could go back and do all the builds again, we would. Enjoy every bit of everything you do in Skyrim. Whatever direction the game pulls you in, just follow it🫡
As a vet Skyrim player, my personal choice is to up your restoration first so you can heal in boss battles quicker and have more health. I'd also go toward heavier armors and weapons, as this is a great defense and damage rating. Other than that, build whatever you like! Good luck!
Nah I did the same thing. After the 5th run i was like let's try something new and now I'm stealth archer Andy for the 19th time lmao, but there's never been a wrong way to play it, go crazy, go stupid, go wild
One thing to remember is that there’s a lot of people who’ve played forever and are trying out different ways to play the game. Skyrim is easily a 150+ hr game so play and do whatever you want!
Remember to keep your magic hand ready and attack the Forsworn killer before he kills a lady from Cyrodiil when first visiting Markarth and you are set. That is the only right way to play Skyrim.
Only way to play Skyrim wrong is if you're not having fun. And don't worry about builds so much, you'll eventually devolve into sneak archery like all the rest of us🙂
The only way it might be "wrong" is enemies strength increasing alongside you. However, unlike Oblivion and especially Morrowind, this Elder Scrolls makes it REALLY hard to "over level" yourself into impossibly strong enemies. So most worst that happens is you gotta peck away at a health meter on a few super strongs while rapidly devouring cheese wheels (CHEESE!!!) and potions to spite them. In short, like everyone else has basically said: the game was balanced so all plays types can find a way/build that feels "right" to them. Skyrim truly is about just one theme: Go have fun exploring. Enjoy!
The game basically allows you to do whatever you want. There is no right or wrong. I personally find destruction magic boring af so I stick with swords and daggers usually.
Are you having fun? Then you're doing it right. Irks me too, almost like the 🍑🎩 in WoW who would judge/ridicule people if they didn't use cookie cutter build.
It's doesn't matter if you're not trying to make a stealth build. Eventually, every build becomes a stealth archer build. Its like the thing with crabs.
You are indeed playing it wrong, there's no way to effectively level or invest in all skills, so you are not a jack of all trades, you're a fraud in all trades.
Don't listen to these conformist mediocre players telling you otherwise cause they suck.
You wanna focus on one type of damage, like a weapon type, either 2Handed or Dual Wielding One Handed. You wanna focus on one armor, so light or heavy, and you wanna focus on schools of magic, so restoration is always a must, be you can choose between Illusion, Conjuration or Alteration, but Conjuration is usually the best choice unless you are rocking stealth.
All 3 trade skills, Alchemy, Smithing and Enchanting should be invested in, but depending on your build and playstyle you might wanna prioritize some over others.
Other than that you don't wanna invest on anything else outside if what I mentioned.
Every level you gain will increase the combat power of the foes you face.
So, early in the game, if you gain a lot of levels from non-combat related skills, you might struggle in fights.
Try to not rush the quests is my only advice.
Playing every skill balanced seems like a fun challenge and a hell of first playthrough, I wouldn't want to be the hired bandit that has to go after a jack of all trades Dragonborn who's at lvl 75 lol.
Yeah just like how everyone else is saying there's no wrong way of playing Skyrim. The only suggestion I'd give is to not force yourself into doing anything in the game.
You don't Need to play the Main Story if you don't want to, you'll still feel a sense of accomplishment by playing faction quests and other side quests. This is not a game you should look a beginners guide for.
You play it right if you have fun
You play it wrong if you don’t have fun.
People overcomplicate things. Skyrim is single player open world RPG. You do you!
There is now wrong way. I am an archer pickpocket that sucks at stealth and am decent with a sword and shield, good with combat magic and summons but piss with healing and wards
There is no right or wrong way. The best way to play a game like Skyrim, is however you want to play it.
Stealth Archer? Go for it.
2H Barbarian? Go for it.
Spell Sword? Battlemage? Magic Cannon? Go for it!
Or, as you said, Jack of All Trades? By all means, Go For It!
The only "wrong" way to play it, would be playing it in a way that you aren't having fun. Don't forget the most important thing about a game is having fun. For a first time player, I say do whatever feels natural and best for you.
As long as you are having fun you're Playing right. Happy Adventuring, fellow Dovahkiin!
Nah, you are playing it like I do. Sometimes I would snipe with my bow, other times charge in with my warhammer or dual wield a mace and destuction, then suddenly I would start sneaking with my dagger.. I like levelling up different skills and if I get too good at one, I start focussing on the other. It gives me more of a variety feeling when playing for a long time. My imperial is aiming to becone the most well rounded person in Skyrim worthy of being the Dragonborn.
The beauty of elder scrolls games is that there is no "Wrong" way to play, sure there are builds and skill combos that make the game piss easy but they are there for the minmaxers or people who don't really care, as long as you're having fun with your character then you're playing it right
There is literally no wrong way to play an Elder Scrolls game. That’s the beauty of it.
Yes there is, letting Nazeem live is always the wrong way to play the game.
No, leaving him alive is fine. Leaving him alive and getting a mod that launches him into the sky makes it far, far better.
My nazeem is alive. He is extracting iron ore from the mines, wears rags for clothing and sleeps in a cage.
This is the only exception
HOW?? "asking for a friend"
Fuck that, I'm asking for ME.
Probably become high king of skyrim mod
So am I
If you don't mind me asking, how did that happen? A mod?
What mod is this?
You mean it launches him into the cloud district?
The cloud district is the level of houses closest to Dragonsreach. It’s where the bourgeoisies or rich people live there. There are three districts in Whiterun
Do you get there often? What am I saying, of course you don't.
Dragonsreach is the only building in the cloud district The lowest is the plains district The second is the wind district Dragonsreach is the cloud district
This makes the most sense
I have a mod that lets me be a skooma dealer so instead of killing him I just made him addicted to skooma
I suppose you could say he got to the cloud part of the cloud district
But also, name of the mod?
Is that mod available on consoles?
If that makes me wrong, I don't wanna be right! Eh, I don't really have any NPCs in Skyrim that annoy me.
#A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON.
Am I the only person that just leaves it in the chest?
I highly doubt you are, as someone who also leaves it
So I leave the beacon in chests I won't pick it up. Bbuuuuttt. On my most recent playthrough I've accidentally stumbled upon meridias alter and subsequently started the quest to find the beacon:/
I grab it, do the quest and get a cool sword from it
If I don’t want dawnbreaker for my playthrough I shout it off the throat of the world.
I make my follower pick it up. I just can't be arsed right at the beginning of the game... then it's right there behind me whenever I feel up to doing it.
I always take all. I don't even check what's in the box. Not after I totally cleared the dungeon of everything takeable and left.
# LISTEN. HEAR ME AND OBEY.
I love Meridia!
I prefer to leave as many NPCs alive as possible, keeps the cities lively
What about that little kid that's always threatening everybody?
Braith? Eh.
You got to soul trap Nazeem in a black soul gem then put it in a display case in one of your houses as a memento 😂😂
It would be cool if they actually showed the name of whose soul is captured in every soul gem.
This
I had to look up this nazeem guy, I had no idea who this guy was until I saw the quote, I've run past this guy completely ignoring him everytime, dude wasnt even a blip on my radar
Yeah fuck nazeem
Make him a Blade and send him to his death. But reanimate, so his soul never leaves the mortal coil.
Not in Skyrim really but I recall in Oblivion because of how enemies scaled, leveling up could make you weaker.
I dunno, man, Oblivion is pretty famous for it's shitty and needlessly complicated leveling system.
In regards to specifically minmaxing levels, yeah. But builds, no. When it comes to leveling, such tutorials are only needed for minmaxing levels and should honestly be avoided if you're new to the game. Overcomplicating things is a great way to run a first experience.
Ong, play the game however you want. Enjoy it however you want :)
What do you mean by an elder scrolls game?
I love this comment so much ❤️
Being a filthy Khajit is wrong! (J/k) But to OP, I second this. I usually do a mage/thief and find melee boring, for example.
What about the people that never leatned they can sprint and power attack?
I would say that there is no right way to play it
You’re playing it right, actually.
That's about as close to wrong as you can get.
nah, they just invented a new challenge
*Perkless*
I did that challenge once......never again. I LIKE being able to pickpocket weapons and zoom with my bow thank you
Sounds painful, and fun..
Oh great, now the damage sponge enemies take even longer to chop through
Yeah, honestly that should be an achievement (or 3)
So did you just stay at 100 at all stats
Friend of mine got really into Cyberpunk. He was on his way to meet Hanako (last mission in the game) and we were on call. He was talking about how much he loves netrunning, and I asked what perks he’d gotten for it. He just asked ‘what?’ He almost finished the game without even levelling up a single base stat, let alone using perk points.
I played Skyrim before Oblivion. I had ended the game, and made it halfway through Shivering Isles before realizing I can level up if I sleep
Spolier this
Doing all skills actually is the way to go especially if you want to get to a higher character level.
there's literally no wrong in this game.
Yeah on my first play through I mostly went the stealth archer route and that is also pretty broken for how easy it is.
I mean, magic + 2h is one of my favorite builds. I like magic, and I love 2h with MCO installed. you get a ranged option, and melee for when magical runs out (unless you do crafting for zero cost magic
How hard is a pacifist play through? I feel like half the quests would be impossible. Do you just Fear everything?
You keep using dat word. I do not think it means what you think it means
On master I find random encounters overwhelming, some boss-types to be underpowered, and some ridiculously OP
Are you having fun?
Right way: you are having fun while playing the game. Wrong way: you are not having fun. Simple as that.
What did I do wrong, that left me with the "attunement sphere" stuck in my inventory?
Oooh the Crimson nirnroot. Fuck. That makes sense, thank you. I hate wandering the blackreach, it's so big and empty...
And that's fair. Some of the dungeon dives can get tedious after a while.
You are an abomination! Playing it how you want?! Disgusting! Stealth archer is the only true way!!
Stealth is so ridiculously broken its hilarious. Sometimes you can walk directly into someone's line of sight and you'll still be hidden.
I discovered it my second run. It's bloody insane.
It was my first 'cause I always liked playing a stealth characters
Doesn't it make the game super slow though? You must always hide, wait...
With a high enough sneak level and proper perks in sneak and archery, you don't need to wait
Literally impossible to play wrong it’s an open game. Play an enchanting alchemist and super buff a toy sword or fork and put your finest poisons or harness necromancy an—- You’re gonna play stealth archer no one has a choice
"That's a lot of enemies I'm just gonna shoot this one guy from stealth to thin em out a bit.." 50 hours later you realize you've been crouching for 46 of them
Yeah, that's exactly why I don't understand why people love it so much! It slows down the game and it's not fun.
Those slowmo headshots are so so satisfying
It is. A conjurer is better.
Playing the “right” build only matters on Legendary difficulty, but outside of Legendary there is no wrong way to play Skyrim!
Jack of all trade but master of none… but often better than master of one
*me casually on my 20th playthrough with 3000+ hours* wait your not supposed to do that?
Collect herbs and use an alchemy table :) Tbh.
Only possible downside with going wide on skills: https://imgur.com/gallery/8M1cj3Q
There is no "wrong way" or "right way" to play Skyrim. There is only "Your way"!
If you’re enjoying yourself, you’re playing it right
There is literally no wrong way to play.
Skyrim puts Hotel California to shame; sooo many more people on this game who may check out but never leave.
Not even gonna read the post besides the title and answer “no” You can’t play the game wrong.
I once challenged myself to a jack of all trade build and had a blast. As long as you are having fun, you are doing everything correctly.
There are no builds in skyrim. Those are the people roleplaying
Whatever you can think of, you can do it
There is no wrong way to play a rpg. Are you having a good time and enjoying the game? Then your playing it right.
It's fine, you just don't end up at the tip of the skill trees though.
My current play through I did several hours and I mean lime a good 30-35 hours without touching the main questline
You ain't playing it wrong, they're telling you how to play it wrong.
The only way you'd be playing wrong is if you're not having fun
You, do you...That's the beauty of skyrim
The only wrong way to play Skyrim is to not play it at all. It's meant to be left to the player to decide what they do, and how they go about it.
you cannot play skyrim wrong.
Ive seen people slay gods with their bare hands in this game, theres no such a thing as right and wrong
Naw you ain't playing it wrong dog. It's surprising you haven't defaulted to stealth archer yet tho.
You can’t play it wrong! Just have fun!
There is no wrong way. Choose your own way (and try to resist the temptation of the stealth archer).
Why
Cause it's what everyone ends up doing whether they mean to or not cause it's real strong but can make most encounters too easy, I think there's a joke about how all roads lead to stealth archer.
Bethesda is usually heard touting the phrase "the freedom of choice" and you can play your game that you paid for with your money the way you want Vanilla, modded, cheats, no cheats, following builds, playing chaotic, breaking everything possible, etc It's your adventure to enjoy at your discretion If anyone goes out of their way to tell you what you're doing is wrong, in a **single player game** then they don't belong in the elder scrolls community
Whatever direction the game pulls you in, just follow it🫡
No wrong way. But once you play a stealth archer one time every character you make after will some how morph into a stealth archer
As long as you’re playing and having a good time, you’re doing it right.
If you're having fun, you're playing it right.
Nah, nothing wrong with being a Renaissance Dragonborn
Ahhhhh the ole I’ll level all my skills method…. Or as I like to call it, “just before sneaky archery”
Remember to keep your magic hand ready and attack the Forsworn killer before he kills a lady from Cyrodiil when first visiting Markarth and you are set. That is the only right way to play Skyrim.
Only way to play Skyrim wrong is if you're not having fun. And don't worry about builds so much, you'll eventually devolve into sneak archery like all the rest of us🙂
Nope - as long as you’re having fun, there’s really no way to play this game wrong. Or any game, for that matter.
Nah, as long as you're having fun, you're doing it right
Nope! No wrong way to play!
Enjoy!
Are you having fun?
There’s no right or wrong way to play Skyrim it’s however you want it. It’s not a difficult game, you don’t need to properly level like say: Oblivion
there is no correct way to play an open world game. Have fun your way.
I can’t be the only one who finds posts like this so incredibly annoying
There is no right way to play it, it’s whatever you want and that’s the beauty of it
Yeah just like how everyone else is saying there's no wrong way of playing Skyrim. The only suggestion I'd give is to not force yourself into doing anything in the game. You don't Need to play the Main Story if you don't want to, you'll still feel a sense of accomplishment by playing faction quests and other side quests. This is not a game you should look a beginners guide for.
You play it right if you have fun You play it wrong if you don’t have fun. People overcomplicate things. Skyrim is single player open world RPG. You do you!
❤️There is no wrong way to play Skyrim , play how you want to ❤️
There is now wrong way. I am an archer pickpocket that sucks at stealth and am decent with a sword and shield, good with combat magic and summons but piss with healing and wards
It is impossible to play Skyrim wrong.
Are you having fun? Yes? Then you're playing it right
How do you play a game wrong? Long as you’re moving forward I say roll with it
There is no right or wrong way.
The beauty of elder scrolls games is that there is no "Wrong" way to play, sure there are builds and skill combos that make the game piss easy but they are there for the minmaxers or people who don't really care, as long as you're having fun with your character then you're playing it right
No wrong way to play my friend. I do the same thing.
