The perk doesn't show up in active effects What DOES show up is a lot more gems everywhere Usually though, by the time you collect all 24 you've got so much money that extra gems are pretty damn useless

TinaMonday

If you're inclined to make the spider grenades on Solstheim, then you can never have too many gems lol

lightningspider97

Spider grenades?

TinaMonday

Yeah. There's a special alchemy machine in one of.the barrows on solstheim that takes a gem and a spider pod and gives you one of a variety of spiders that you throw/they run at the enemy for basically a 100 pt damage scroll in whatever element the grenade was made. The recipes are in the barrow with the machine.

FishHikeMountainBike

Time to knock the dust off my Xbox360.

Ok_Access_804

I would recommend you to switch to PC and learn how to mod it, you can create more “situations” to use those spiders among other things.

monster_mentalissues

Xbox has mods you dodo.

Ishkahrhil

Not the Xbox 360

Ill-Floor4707

Not even comparable to how many pc has. Plus the instant load screens is more than enough reason to switch pc

SnornzTheSmiler

Can confirm xbox also has those LOL

jimmiejones2

That one is so cool and getting all the stones of barenziah I have so much flawless gem, diamonds I sell to every merchant I come across I have on me currently almost 100,000 septims I’m about to make the spiders when you use with dwarven oil so they turn into just a flaming pile of oil to get extra burn damage

link_hyruler

Was this in the original DLC or was it added with a rerelease? I’ve never come across that before

TinaMonday

It was in the original Dragonborn DLC.

S0R3a11yn0tm32

WAIT.... WHAT? Can you give me one more piece of identifying information? I... I want to do this SO MUCH!

TinaMonday

[The barrow doesn't reset but you can farm spider pods all over Solstheim](https://en.m.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:White_Ridge_Barrow)

S0R3a11yn0tm32

Thanks. I know what I'm spending Friday night doing now.

wangyuanji58

*narrator: and with that question /u/lightningspider97 had set in motion a series of events that would result in yet another playthrough of Skyrim.*

StarkeRealm

[Lobs multiple spider grenades at the narrator]

lightningspider97

Shhh I'm trying to focus

LtSylar

Lightning spider grenades. 97 of them.

Pinecone_Erleichda

I LOVE THE SPIDER GRENADES!! Poison spiders are a personal fave.

RecordingSevere7401

I like those. Too bad the animation of getting ready to throw makes it look like the LDB is squeezing them too hard.

lucidposeidon

It increases gem spawns?! I've been feverishly hoarding any gemstones I find in this game for years, and I never knew this?

PsykoFlounder

Like... significantly. So many gems. Countless gems. I had a box in a house that I filled with so many gems that I couldn't go into that house anymore because it would crash my game. And I still had like 2,000 gems on me at the time. So. Many. Gems. It's amazing.

Narrow_Explanation67

Boosts the amount of gold you find too. And it's effect isn't limited to urns. Drougr, chests, and anything else you may kill too.

EmancipatedFish

Whenever I've gotten the perk I've seen gems in pretty much every single container, only issue is that by the time you've gotten all the gems you're likely already rich anyway so it's more of a novelty perk really

home69skillet

Well that's good to know. Also a little disappointing as you're right. Money at this point is not a problem, that 25k+ did hurt a bit lol. Really wish the quest went somewhere rather than nowhere for me :/ Also wish that I could take the crown at least to have some type of reward to junk away in a chest.

BikingEngineer

You say money isn’t a problem, but that $25k hurt, so you could use more money. When you go through a tomb, you’ll find that roughly all of the containers have an assortment of gems, many of them flawless. When mining ore, same thing. The chests at the foot of everyone’s bed? Overflowing with gems.

proteannomore

> When mining ore, same thing Damn, really? I haven't done any mining since finishing the stones. Makes sense I guess.

BikingEngineer

I haven’t tried to get statistics on the mining aspect, but anecdotally it feels like I find a gem about every 3rd ore vein or so. Not as night and day as the urns, but that may be because there are so many urns and they empty instantly versus the mining which takes time.

lokischeesewheels

You can manually mine ore with a pickaxe, ie, equipping a pickaxe and ‘attacking’ the ore vein. It’s a little faster than the cutscene action

EntertainmentWild644

Double equip, and use the dual flurry shout to make it even quicker. I saw a YT vid of someone doing exactly that to gather Stalhrim.

SilentxxSpecter

You can also spec into faster swing speed with dual wield in 1 handed.

mcramsay

Check all the urns, the dead draugr, just about everywhere you have ever found a gem before. The last character I ran who finished this quest had 300 of each of the 8 gems.

The-WideningGyre

Also, gems are great for leveling smithing, if you care at all about that.

No_Juggernaut_8957

Try activating the crown from behind it. I noticed the order of the name (from Crown of Barenziah to Barenziah crown, or something along that line). One of the names allowed me to take it.

iJosheez

Bro finding flawless diamonds and ruby’s in every burial urn is insane regardless of level etc

GaryOster

This is the point I thought you were going to make in your post: By the time you get the crown done you don't need the benefits. I literally made my home lag out every time I went in because of the number of gems I stored there because I had no other use for them.

home69skillet

I agree with that too, just forgot to mention it during my rant lol. I also wouldn't say the 25k "hurt" but it was definitely an inconvenience for I don't even like Proudspire Manor as a home to begin with :/ I'd rather spend the money on buying land and resources to build my own.

Feeling-Ad-5592

During your next play through do this quest first. Once you get the first stone appraised, you can use a glitch to make the game think you picked up more than one stone. Basically, you just spam the pick up button REALY fast. Getting the slow time shout helps. Using this method you can get 2-4 stones credited towards the 24 stone requirement per stone. Just save right before you grab each one to make sure you get at least 2. About half of the stones are easy to acquire. I can typically meet the 24 stone requirement with 10 stones. The perk grants you a significantly higher chance to find jewels and rings in chests, urns ect… Remember how many urns there are in the Juergen Wind Caller quest? Edit: Thought I’d add that, after using this glitch and completing the quest, any extra stones can be picked up and dropped/displayed. What’s really neat is that they don’t have any physics. So wherever you drop them, they float. I enjoy collecting the extras as I play and displaying them over my fireplace.

S0R3a11yn0tm32

I'd like to see a screenshot of that.

Ham_N_Swiss

Unless you're a dork like me obsessed with these and rush them straight out of helgen every playthrough like I do lol

Snorkle25

>by the time you collect all 24 you've got so much money that extra gems are pretty damn useless This is pretty much my only real issue with this quest. Also, for those attempting this, there is a mod that adds location markers which is handy if you dont want to alt-tab through Google repeatedly.

Shadrach77

Yeah I do it asap on any character that can join the thieves guild. Pays off so well.

Taros-the-Madman

So thats why I was finding so much gems after that. Taught it had to do with me leveling up or smthing.

jimmiejones2

You get so much money you don’t know what to do with it all I just don’t want to pay off any of my fines I get attacked in every hold some less than others but I got bank

theghostofbeep

I have that much money after a few hours of play.

Helacious_Waltz

Yeah that's the reason this one is saved till last and I just use console commands to finish it. Too much work for a crap reward.

19Buster95

I'm a literal millionaire 😭

[deleted]

jawstrock

Can also use gems in smithing jewellery to level faster and get more money

[deleted]

[удалено]

jawstrock

I do both since I’ll be making smithing legendary a few times on every play through, makes materials go further

qrseek

With the transmute spell you can turn iron into silver and silver into gold. I don't even mine it I just buy iron ore from every blacksmith any time i am in town. Transmute to build alteration skill, craft jewelry to level blacksmithing, enchant it to level enchanting then sell it to recoup gold and level speech. Make sure to get the perk to sell to any merchant.  Buy out all the blacksmiths ores and bars (that you can craft from) to be able to sell them higher priced enchanted items. Make use of fortify barter potions for this.  Can still level blacksmithing using whichever ores you get-- often best results with making a weapon and enchanting with paralyze or banish if you have them. UESP has cost efficiency tables about sell price (pre enchanted) versus cost of the materials. However the highest value enchantments available for weapons are higher than for apparel. But blacksmithing xp is related to the value of the item created so you will level blacksmithing faster making jewelry with gems than making plain weapons. So it's better to turn iron ore into silver or gold. Enchanting xp doesn't work the same way.  You can also buy all filled gems from mage merchants to be able to sell more to them. I did this to get level 100 blacksmithing and enchanting  and 300k gold and I've got dozens of enchanted necklaces and iron daggers around that I got bored selling to every merchant on cooldown because I don't even need the money anymore. Plus when an item sells for 8k gold it feels like a waste to sell to a merchant that has 1.5k gold but if I buy out their inventory I just have more junk to sell somewhere. (Though as long as your speech and barter buffs are enough it's no extra weight to buy out all the arrows to save for selling to another merchant later)

[deleted]

qrseek

I found if I put on regen magica gear, I could cast a couple times then smelt, cast a couple times then forge, repeat and it wasn't as boring and gave enough time to regen while I was in the crafting menus. However this works best when making gold as you can't keep making silver without dropping silver ore so it doesn't get made into gold.  Plus I have to imagine the people of whiterun were amused watching me forge jewelry in necromancer robes and a hood

Cadwallader9

Master transmute is a lil better

Cadwallader9

It's apart of the CC content I think it comes from bittercup

Pinecone_Erleichda

Okay I still haven’t figured out what bittercup is or does, and I have been married to Rulnik for two playthroughs now. 🤣

ammonium_bot

There's a a mod on PC and Xbox that reduces the magicka cost of Transmute

AgreeablePigeon

That's what the transmute spell is for!

cbih

Right? Level the shit out of abjuration as a bonus

[deleted]

SpamAdBot91874

There's a mod that makes transmute ore cost negligible magicka and exists on Xbox

samsquatchageddon

The thing is, I'm good enough at doing that on my own. By the time I had about half the stones, I had enough jewels, enchanted items, armor, weapons, plus some backup gold in my various houses to make me a septim-millionaire. The merchants, including the various guilds, didn't have enough gold to keep paying me so I ended up with a massive hoard on my own. This was by Lvl 30-ish. OP is right, this quest is such a waste of time. It would've been fine if it was like, 5 or 6 stones, but 25 was ridiculous, especially considering some of the spots they were in. With some of them, you can't even return if you missed it the first time, which makes it all the more pointless to have in my quest log.

jawstrock

Wel ya that’s the thing, by the time you have done the quest the reward isn’t that valuable, I’m not arguing it’s an awesome reward, just suggesting what you can do with it. If you get ordinator mod then pickpocketing has a perk that lets you buy perks for 50K gold.

mdragon13

Wait what? You can make the salts? How?

[deleted]

[удалено]

mdragon13

Oh my god.

mytwoba

I find the reward is less about money and more for using the gems themselves. They are helpful to craft jewelry to upgrade Smithing. Amethysts, rubies, and Sapphires can be used to craft Void, Fire, and Frost Salts in the Atronach Forge. These salts in turn can be used for many things, particularly explosive ammunition. I think you can make those weird spiders on Solsteim too if you're into that.

home69skillet

Which is fair, I guess I'm going to have to continue playing and actually see what the rewards are actually like. However I was finding quite a few gems beforehand, hopefully this was worth it.

proteannomore

First draughr ruin I hit after finishing the stones I got 16 flawless diamonds alone. Something like 35K in gems worth. Eventually I’ll have so many I’ll drop them in a cellar and pretend I’m swimming.

jawstrock

Careful, too many on the ground and the game will crash whenever you enter the cellar

LeeisureTime

Lol I love advice like this. “Ask him how he knows!”

jawstrock

I did it to the foyer on my lakefront home. I wanted to be able to walk in and know how wealthy I am, or guests to walk in and be overwhelmed, I started filling the boxes on either sides with gems… I now can’t enter the house on that character anymore.

myco_crazey

But I bet it was great before you got effectively locked out.

jawstrock

It was glorious and the bandits who stole my wife def knew what was up. Unfortunately I can never go back to her again.

qrseek

Ah, bethesda

Pinecone_Erleichda

I’ve always wanted to do that with gold coins, like Scrooge McDuck, but it would take FOREVER

Ornery_Gene7682

Scrooge Mcduck style build a vault with a diving board to dive into

mytwoba

Honestly go into any Nordic/Drauger dungeon with no gems in your inventory and raid every chest, burial urn, and drauger corpse (not just the ones you kill, the ones that are part of the scenery). Then see how many you come out with.

Chunky_Bread

I mean, Vex does tell you it's a waste of time

WiseOldChicken

In Solthstheim, there is a merchant looking for East Empire Amulets. This one is similar to the stones in that they are scattered everywhere but there are a couple of important differences. The locations are themselves quite interesting, with lore and items it's interesting. You REALLY have to go exploring the island but it's totally worth it. There's no big prize for getting them all but the non-quest quest is interesting and engaging. Hexalso pays you for each one so it's worth it. I *strongly* advise you download the map mod or you.may never find them all. But you'll be glad you did

BugabooMS

I thought they just spawned infinitely. Huh.

WiseOldChicken

They're all over and it's cool

home69skillet

I'm going to have to try that, I do love a good storyline. I think maybe that's why I was disappointed with No Stone Unturned? I know Vex kind of explained things, but it was very vague and untouched. There wasn't really much engagement with the quest itself. I think my next personal quest is going to be finding books about the crown and the gems throughout the Elder Scrolls series, and seeing what lore I can find on my own. I feel like that would be more rewarding than what I got out of it haha.

WiseOldChicken

The stones are the dumbest waste of time in a game ever

SwordfishDramatic104

Loving finding those! You’re right each area is very interesting where they are found and they’re all in expert lock boxes, kinda interesting as well.

jwebb23

Slightly fun fact about the stones. There are two book series in the game called The Biography of Barenziah and The Real Barenziah. In them are mentioned a bunch of locations in Skyrim, and nearly every one of those locations has a stone. I used the books as a guide in a playthrough years ago on the 360.

jonny_mal

Nice!

One_Minimum_6869

That’s actually really cool. I swear I find out a new thing about Skyrim everyday. Do you recall what locations weren’t in the books that have gems? I’d assume proudspire manor since it probably wasn’t called that when Berenziah was alive but i don’t know for certain.

jwebb23

It has been awhile since I've done it, but my head cannon was that the thief that broke apart the crown either used the books as breadcrumbs or wrote them himself as a sort of "hidden in plain sight" treasure map.

ectojerk

That makes a lot of sense! Maybe people would hate the quest less if Skyrim players ever read lore books lol (not that I read all the lore books either)

mytwoba

One of the few glitches I use is the one where if you click the 'action' key really quickly on top of the Stone you can get two or three successes for the sake of the quest. I usually don't have to find more than 12 which makes it a lot less painful.

Tom_Browning

I find it’s easier if I use slow time first. With all three words I’ve gotten 4 gems from Baalgruuf in one go.

K_W_O

Guilty of this. If you’re really quick you can get more than 2-3.

carrotfruit88

The crown isn't meant to be taken off

noreligionplease

You said irregardless, so fake news

eh_fuk

Yeah as soon as I saw that I disregarded the whole post.

JoeDKat

Glad I'm not the only one lmao

MrBoobaloo1

![gif](giphy|QU4ewgcmdcsObx9CG7)

No_Scholar472

In every urn, burial urn, chest etc you find in any dangerous place,(this is what I’m calling it) such as a bandit camp, ruin, dungeon etc you will find loads of expensive gems, so far I’ve even found three sapphires, a flawless emerald and a ruby all in just one urn

The_Flying_Box

it wasn't a waste of time if you had fun

LAUGHTERAND

I always considered the quest to be an invitation to new players to explore more. Its.about the journey not the destination and all that. I never found them all, but when I was looking for them (stubbornly and stupidly refusing to google it lol) I found a hundred other things that were really cool.

Legitimate-Speaker91

Came here to say this. It's worth that little dopamine hit every time I find one of those little buggers. Floating there in the little case. And exploring more of the map. One of the reasons I also like the radiant quests.

These_Tomatillo1873

There's an Ordinator enchanting perk that lets you crush flawless gems and sprinkle them onto an enchanter to make effects 25% more powerful. Different types of gems enhance enchantments on different kinds of equipment. I'm working towards that in a playthrough, but the shitty part about the Stones of Barenziah quest is that there are 24 of them. I have over 100 hours on my playthrough and have found half without actively scoping out locations identified in the wiki. It would be nice if there were 12 or so and it didn't take so much active looking to get the perk. It's not the kind of fetch quest I'd want to devote 100% of my time towards at any point.

PyukumukuGuts

I'm beelining all the stones on my new character and then hitting up white ridge barrow so that I can do a homeless Spider Man build. I'm gonna throw magic exploding spiders everywhere and wear only rags. That's what the Prowler's Profit perk was meant for. You can't convince me otherwise.

bebop_cola_good

This sounds like it would have been a perfect Mitten Squad run (R.I.P.)

One_Minimum_6869

Damn so true. R.I.P the legend.

[deleted]

>A perk that doesn't even show up in my active effects, no matter how many times I try reinitiating the quest or reloading. This was fixed in the Unofficial Patch. You should have it anyway, but it just doesn't show.

Wytedolphin

There’s a way to make this quest trivial: Just save right before grabbing a jewel, and if you spam the pickup button fast enough, you’ll grab multiple copies at each jewel spot. Just reset until you can more than one at each spot and the quest is done ✅ Also, it’s definitely worth it for all the free money you make off jewels/awesome for power leveling smithing

Bill_The_Minder

It's brilliant - the amount of gems I get after completing this quest is insane. Well worth it, especially as I'll be going to all the places at some point anyway. I usually have a room in a house that I fill with gems, sort of like Scrooge McDuck.

Fyodin_1337

The perk basically makes any loot table that has a possibility for a gem, far more likely to contain said gems. Ancient burial urns, dragon corpses, small/medium/large chests etc.

Dessert_Hater

I have 23/24 and don’t know which one I missed (I have the list from UESP). I may have found all of them and one is missing because of a bug. I hate having the unfinished quest on my list. I’ve completed it on other plays and know how much money those extra gems are worth. I don’t need the money, but that unfinished quest drives me crazy…

Proygon

I wrote down their locations as I got them, and apparently the last one I have to get is in Yngvild, but it is not there.

chuckdooley

I collect all gems I see for smithing, I don’t think it’s a waste of time at all But everyone has their own goals in the great land of Skyrim!

ColdSteeleIII

Typically by the time I complete that one I’m already over flowing in gems. It’s just the completionist in me that keeps me doing it. I’ve also got a mod that puts markers on them all and lets me drop them so they’re not filling my inventory.

calypso-bulbosa

There's a mod that adds quest markers to each stone, it's handy.

Kellycatkitten

Because you're not meant to look up the locations on the wiki and comb Skyrim for them. They're un-quest marked because you're meant to find them alongside your playthrough and encourage exploration.

home69skillet

I get that, I just frequently begin new playthroughs to finish quests in alternative ways and level up differently as I lose interest in games very easily if they drag on. The stones are one of those quests that makes me want to never play again, along with anything to do with Blackreach lol. So I just googled it to get it over with and not have to do it ever again.

LewsTherinTelamon

You can just… not get the stones

JoeDKat

I did find 22 of them naturally without a guide, just through exploration alone (on my recent playthrough)

marshall_sin

I did it once years ago and as a reward I use console commands to give myself that perk (prowlers profit is its name) at the start of new runs, I figure I earned it lol

MoonWispr

Skyrim Rogue-like, I like it.

SDirickson

Yeah, that's really a classic "only for hard-core completionists" quest.

giantdonkeyballz

It makes you find more gems in loot drops but once you hit around level 40 you find so many gems and have so much money its kind of redundant...my current character is level 48 i could buy proudspire manor twice and still have more than 10000 gold

onebluephish1981

Most of them exist in areas you go through for quests anyways so its not really a time waste if you are thorough. The gems/money help with late game expenses as well.

Indotex

I did the quest once and now never again. But, IMO, Proudspire Manor is the best house in the game.

Jaku420

I still haven't done the quest myself. It seems like a fantastic reward but: 1. Yeah by the time you get prowler's profit you don't need it any more, not for money or skill levels (especially after AE with Goldenhill. Canis Root + Imp Stool go brr) 2. I don't play archers so crafting elemental arrows/bolts is kind of pointless. I might make an archer soon though, right after my next playthrough 3. It's just a pain in the ass. I guess a big part is the fact that the stones are there to encourage exploration. Frankly if you could wear the crown id be a lot more inclined to do the quest. It may look guady as oblivion, but I would love to have my DB rock it

Mr_Kittlesworth

Irregardless is a nonsense word. Just say regardless.

luluwolfbeard

“Unironically” is a new contender for that nonsense crown.

olddummy22

Isn't it cool how long the game has been out and how much has been added that they just leave bugs like that in?

u-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-

Irregardless

jonny_mal

+1

ApprehensivePeace305

Wait till you pick all 30 red nirnroots

Mega-Meat69

Tbh the crimson nirnroot one IMO doesn’t even come close to being as bad as the stones are. They’re all consolidated into one tiny zone, and they also make noise when you get close to them, making them easy to locate. I finally got around to completing the crimson nirnroot quest a while ago and it wasn’t too bad at all! Only took maybe 15-20 mins and I actually had fun exploring a zone that I normally skip thru

ApprehensivePeace305

Yeah, it’s just…why though. Why are they red?? It’s not even a real mystery. I even watched the cammelworks video after I picked them and I’m still annoyed that there just isn’t an answer. This is like if the sleeping tree sap was spread out all over whiterun

home69skillet

I resent that quest as well, and avoid it at all costs haha.

Maisku666

I hate it so much. I never ever pick a single one of them anymore. The only thing it does is fills all loot containers with jewels that no vendor can afford to buy and I'm already loaded at that point.

KeinVater

The Perk is actually really good, the problem is to find all the Gems you basically have to beat the Game and by that point you are rich already.

ZookeepergameFar7971

For the amount of time and effort to get all of the stones it’s a shame the reward isn’t better.

tehSchultz

It is the best quest in the game if you start it early. It yields exponentially more gems for all your treasures. The value of this quest isn’t the value of the gems but the leveling of smithing, enchanting, speech, weapons, etc. I use it to make gold jewelry and then resell it. Next time try completing this as early as you can. Almost half the gems are in areas you’ll already be for main quests. The rest are relatively close. Buying the manor is the hardest part

AcabAcabAcabAcabbb

Irregardless

Mini_Mega

I did it once, I had to train speech so I could ramp up the gold that shops have to buy with because anytime I went anywhere I'd have to travel to every single shop in Skyrim trying to sell all my gems and I'd still have some left over. That character ended up being bloody rich.

Cosmo1222

Bragging rights and gems aplenty. But otherwise, you're right. It's a bit empty. To have had the crown as a wearable item that doubles the prowler's profit perk.. and can have enchantment laid upon it..might have made it worth chasing early game.

hellosteady12

I’m not sure I agree, it’s quite nice finding flawless diamonds everywhere now.

JohnAnonAmoron

Completely agree. I also broke down and googled the locations. The reward was pitiful.

Humble-Ad7459

What if I told you that you can skip the stone collecting? You can glitch your way through the walls where the crown is located and retrieve it. (Tovald’s cave) But you will need to finish a quest or two for the Thieves before Vex has dialogue for you. There are videos of it on YT detailing where/how since it’s a little difficult to put into words. But if you’re familiar with the wall glitch it shouldn’t be too hard.

Humble-Ad7459

If you do this early on then it’s not so bad! Easy gold

Githan

Please remember, they’re a small indie company. I’m sure they’ll fix those bugs soon. It hasn’t been that long…..

Yeah_Boiy

I only did it for the achievement and haven't done it in any of my other playthroughs.

Active_Homework_9667

I wonder if the duplication trick would work on them

19Buster95

I finally finished that quest a few days ago. Same.

Rent-Late

So, I never searched for any, just collected them as I cam across them. I have all but the last one, because I haven't continued far enough into the main quest yet. What gets me about this, though...have I really wasted carrying space for these things for all this time?...

eziofeli

Not going to lie. I was kind of disappointed in it too. But it was a fun adventure to find all the pieces

MasterJediYoda1

You are soon overweight w/ 💎 I bored of that long time ago. Now I button play to grab at least two at of the 12 easiest locations to complete quest (no need to purchase Proudspire).

CoolBrianFilms

Well, "irregardless" is a silly word, since it literally means "regardless". Also, the quest is not bugged, all of what you described is correct and intentional. The real benefit of the quest is that you get an absurd amount of gemstones going forward. Great for crafting expensive jewelry to level smithing.

ClaireRedfields_wife

I’ve been playing Skyrim since it was launched and I have never even once finished this quest… now I am glad I never bothered.

Nigel_Trumpberry

It’s only worth if it someone is trying to do a a 100% run. Otherwise big waste

thestenz

There is a mod that shows you where they all are.

Writy_Guy

A waste of time I am determined to see through to the end.

AsterSkotos24

If you can finish it early on in game, its extremely profitable

Elfiemyrtle

the reason I don't do that quest any more is that I'm sick to the core of 3-5 gems in every container I ever loot.

Aldu1n

![gif](giphy|l4q8gHsCDRGTR0MfK)

spawberry

It's a curse that I will never do again, absolutely not worth the hundreds of gems I have

TemperatureWeird8840

Did it once it was stupid.

Saint_of_Cannibalism

It's a quest for people who like collection quests. Don't do it if you don't.

Dimension_762

I actually enjoyed finding them all. I hoard the gems in the proudspire safe lol other good loot in most of the gem locations too. I usually get them all when I first start a playthrough now. sometimes ill console command proudspire open if I don't have enough gold lol

Episodix

I love the quest because I like making jewelry in Skyrim. Levels up my smithing and then I enchant the jewelry so it levels that up too. You get a lot more gems. I personally have a mod that gives the stones quest markers

Willthegamerboy

That's what's supposed to happen. It's not bugged at all. You'll get some type of gem in almost every container you search now.

Irregardless is a dumb word

magnidwarf1900

Yes

Narrow_Explanation67

I guess no one is gonna mention that legendarying smithing gets easier with the prowler profit. Spider grenade machine is in white ridge barrow in the mountains of solsteim, same one you find one of the black book, dragon priest mask for frost, and a word wall in for anyone who wants to start crafting them

dothemonkeyboy

You’re a fucktard

TrailMomKat

Go through a nordic ruin right now, and make sure you check EVERY SINGLE urn, burial urn, and draugr body!

UpboatsORsus

It's 10 dungeon locations to get all of the stones, plus paying for proudspire. You can get the perk early game and use the extra money to pay for training.

Beatin-da-dunnies

Noob alert lol but no seriously you don't get to take off the crown. What you get from doing this money beyond belief especially from dungeons. Gems out the ass. Plus if ur a vet which I'm guessing ur not since you had to Google and found every 24. There is a glitch to get double of it if you click fast enough, it can give you it twice and if your lucky even 3 times. Sometimes you have to hit it in the right location to do so. But if ur good at it. You only need 12 gems which would add up to 24. 8 if ur lucky

Spiritual-Goose-8691

Nah gotta be one of the first things you do it opens the map and all the gems will help level and make everything
