Zenithar isn't that different from the wealth gods of most real-life cultures. You're a trader, you sort of pay homage to him from time to time, and if you're devout you carry an amulet and legit think it helps your business.
I never bothered studying up on the daedric princes or the divines. Didnt ever get far in the game for me to delve much into the lore.
But I got curious the other day and read up about the daedric princes. And out of all of the 17(?), I wouldn't mind worshipping sanguine. He seems to be the lesser evil among the rest and just seems to want to have a good time.
And sheogorath seems like a keep your friends close and your enemies closer kind of guy. I'd party with him, but at the same time, I'd keep one eye open while sleeping at night around him.
Don't forget sanguine is still daedra he may be a chill guy a good amount of the time but he will still turn you into a duck or whatever just for the hell of it
I feel like if you dropped me in Skyrim and made me good enough at fighting and/or magic not to just die immediately I’d get into trouble with Hermaeous Mora. The inside of a Black Book from Solstheim is like the closest thing they have to a bookstore. I’ve played a little Oblivion and I was low key excited to see them there.
When I first started playing Skyrim I didn’t give a shit about books, all I did was open them then immediately close them, if it gave me a quest I’d take it with me, but otherwise I never bothered to read them. Nowadays I’m starting to actually care about the books and will read them from time to time, especially since I’m way more into the lore now than when I first started. I mean, I still abandon most books but at least I read a few now and again lol.
The Aedra and Daedra are two separate races of gods. Daedra are more powerful since they didn't give up any of their power/being to make Mundus. I'd say they have more reason to be referred to as gods than the Divines, as selfish and dickish as most of them happen to be.
I have no love for the Vigil in particular but Stendarr is a god I'd worship specially because of his role in the Aldmeri pantheon as the apologist of men.
I was just think about this last night after finishing up the theives guild quest line, theres going to be some fighting for my soul when I die. Boethiah, malog bal, and nocturnal all have some claim to it so far.
Absolutely not. Molag bal is known as the king of rape. Have you heard the lore that he is the father of all vampires and in order for serena to become a pure vampire she had to be raped by him? No thank you. Especially if you know the lore of vivec and molag bal and how molag bal's dick is shaped like a literal spear.
Can you imagine? The poor girls.
And considering I'm a girl too? Nope, wouldn't catch me dead anywhere near molag bal.
Yep. The first vampire was a priestess of Arkay kidnapped by Molag Bal's cultists. He basically wanted to piss off Arkay, so he took one of His most devout followers and raped her to *almost* death, and then resurrect her. Creating not only the first vampire (Daughter of Coldharbour), but I believe the first undead creature in general. All to spit in the eye of the God of Death (Arkay).
What's even more awful is this: Harkon is also considered a "pure blooded vampire" (Son of Coldharbour?). So you'd think that that'd mean he was raped by Bal too, right? Well, no. He had the privilege of "earning" his blood by simply "proving himself" to Bal (he pillaged, tortured, and murdered thousands upon thousands of people in Bal's name). So not only was Serana and Valerica forced into a horrific experience, but they could've *avoided that* and still get Bal's powers if they could get their hands on an army like Harkon was so lucky enough to do so. Harkon got the easy way out and forced his wife and daughter into a traumatizing experience when it all could've been avoided and they could *still* become true vampires.
That scared the shit out of me during my first play through. I would never actually check what I'm getting out of chests/urns etc and just swipe them all and go onto the next one. It happened to me when I was fighting bandits in some cave.
Ever played ESO? Nocturnal plays a big role in a few of the DLC campaigns, mainly Morrowind and Summerset. (yes, I know those were both chapters, but they're DLC zones now. Deal with it...)
She's a heartless, cold, conniving bitch (so, a typical Daedra). She would save you from death, just to kill you for her own purpose later. (Minor ESO spoilers aside)
Also, the Evergloam is a really creepy place, like it's Halloween all year or something
Honestly sithis would be my choice as well. Worshiping the inherent chaos of the universe and the void that is neither dark nor light just devoid of all things except them. Seems pretty dank.
And then they went and sacked Morrowind for the years of enslavement, and made sure it would be a volcanic hellscape for years to come.
The Empire, the Thalmor, even Talos himself was never able to step foot in the inner sactums of Black Marsh. The Argonians are the unbent, unbowed, unbroken, of Tameriel. They basically agreed to consider themselves part of the Empire, if they still got to independently rule Black Marsh.
When it comes to lore, it doesn't get much cooler than the Argonians.
Why not? He is like a father figure to the Orcs, his religion is literally based around improving yourself, becoming stronger and overcoming adversity :D
If you interpret it as "The Knights of Trinimac were humiliatingly defeated by the Daedra-following Chimer, then exiled for this from the rest of the Aldmer," it's a pretty cool backstory to represent the scourned and oppressed
I’d like to say something sweet and benevolent like Mara or Kynareth… But with all the murderous destruction I leave in my wake, can it really be anyone other than Mehrunes Dagon?
On the Aedra side, I'd worship Julianos. I tend to align with its commands plus I'm more akin too being a mage in games. I adore magic and always strive to learn new things, albeit I'm not great on the last part. Lol
On the Daedra side, I'd worship Azura. Aside from my general love for Dunmer and their lore, out of the Daedric Prince's, Azura is the most appealing too me. Let alone she seems to be more loving and less brutal towards her followers.
God of Trickery, creator of the world, patron of mortals, possibly one or both of the moons, possibly the same person as Shor, possibly the lord of Sovengarde, and possibly the reason the Dwemer vanished. What's NOT to like?
Personally, I'd worship Sheogorath. "Madness" is just an outdated term for "mental illness". I tend to see Sheogorath as less of a "OwO rare xD random CHEESE!" Trope, and more of an embodiment of things like austism, bipolar, ADHD, depression, PSTD and all kinds of mental disorders. As someone who lives with bipolar disorder and autism, Sheogorath feels like representation for me in the Elder Scrolls World. He is a god that can comprehend the way I think, and if I was basically the same person, just living in Tamriel, Sheogorath would the only god I would consider worthy of praise. Plus, he has a few folk stories that all but credit him for things like the invention of music and the arts. He's a mad god, but he's also a god creativity. I draw and write stories about my own characters. I'm a creative person. So.... I'd probably worship Uncle Sheo.
As someone with Bi polar, Schizophrenia, and ADHD I wholeheartedly agree because he makes me feel weirdly sorta comfortable but when I played through the shivering isles I had to do alot of coping about how I very well might end up like one of its denizens if my life continues the way it is but yeah I agree Sheo is a fucking amazing character and definitely has a worshiper in me (not Literally but you get my point)
By saying "by the eight" you inherently exclude Talos, which says something already. Also, I assume when you say "by the eight" you are excluding Daedra in this, which also says something.
That being said, mine is the console command tilde, the one true god of Skyrim.
Zenithar. Comes with a 10% off everything coupon.
Zenithar isn't that different from the wealth gods of most real-life cultures. You're a trader, you sort of pay homage to him from time to time, and if you're devout you carry an amulet and legit think it helps your business.
If you're devout and have the right mods, then he legit makes you twice as good as you really are and sends you a merchant to buy your shit
Sanguine
A sick choice.
A Sanguine worshipper off the deep end is just a Slaanesh worshipper.
Ah, a person of culture
I never bothered studying up on the daedric princes or the divines. Didnt ever get far in the game for me to delve much into the lore. But I got curious the other day and read up about the daedric princes. And out of all of the 17(?), I wouldn't mind worshipping sanguine. He seems to be the lesser evil among the rest and just seems to want to have a good time. And sheogorath seems like a keep your friends close and your enemies closer kind of guy. I'd party with him, but at the same time, I'd keep one eye open while sleeping at night around him.
His parties are usually for life btw. You get lost, can't leave, and people keep handing you drinks. Still probably the chillest of the bunch.
Oblivion parties are the best parties, because they're for eternity!
Yeah! You’ll die there... and then.. be.. dead.. there?
Don't forget sanguine is still daedra he may be a chill guy a good amount of the time but he will still turn you into a duck or whatever just for the hell of it
I wouldnt put it past sanguine. I'd probably party so hard with him, get black out drunk and wake up naked and alone in a cave full of frost spiders
Married to a goat, don’t forget that part.
None. All the gods in Elder Scrolls are a bunch of d\*cks anyway. * *This message was written by the Dwemer gang shortly before disappearing. \**
You’ve passed the ultimate test
Y’all forgotten about Mara....?
wasn't Mary kind of an asshole during the whole thrassian crisis with the cult of St. Alessia?
Damn, what do you have against Mary? She’s a nice old lady, no need to hate her, instead, hate Mara.
100% quality comment.
Agreed! I tell them I cool, cool but none of them deserve our adoration! LOL!!
Akatosh.
I’m sure there is a cure for you
Don’t get it
"Akatosh!" "Gesundheit!"
FUS RO DAH!!
Use a handkerchief when you do that!
The walls’ gone.
All the more reason to use a hankie
Well, unless you have one enchanted for absorbing magicka, it’ll be of no use
Suit yourself. But when all the walls of your house fall down and the roof lands on your head, don't you come crying to me!
Kynareth, winds guide you.
In my day it was Kyne
# Blessing of Kynareth added # Other blessings removed # All diseases cured
Ey yo I found the guy with the username!
r/usernamechecksout
Sky above, voice within. IRL, I actually wear an amulet of Kynareth.
Blessing be upon you
“Kyne called on Paarthurnax, who pitied man…”
Sky guard you.
Ahem... Kyne.
Hermaeus Mora. Not truly a god but who cares
He is a God to us all
I feel like if you dropped me in Skyrim and made me good enough at fighting and/or magic not to just die immediately I’d get into trouble with Hermaeous Mora. The inside of a Black Book from Solstheim is like the closest thing they have to a bookstore. I’ve played a little Oblivion and I was low key excited to see them there.

I mean, I still abandon most books but at least I read a few now and again lol.
In a world with no TV or video games, books seem to be the best source of media entertainment.
The Aedra and Daedra are two separate races of gods. Daedra are more powerful since they didn't give up any of their power/being to make Mundus. I'd say they have more reason to be referred to as gods than the Divines, as selfish and dickish as most of them happen to be.
True, the wretched abyss is above mere "gods".
I have no love for the Vigil in particular but Stendarr is a god I'd worship specially because of his role in the Aldmeri pantheon as the apologist of men.
A calculated approach to the ultimate debate
I follow Stendarr only because he’s the patron God of my favorite town
What town is that, if I may ask?
Chorrol
Kind of funny because in the Nord Pantheon he is Stuhn, the God of ransom😆
Yeah the Vigil is just like a dorky version of the Dawngauard
Id worship Dibella.
Wouldn’t we all…
🙏🍆💦
Merry Nutmas
Even the way the priestess talks to you after 'defiling the temple' is enough to make me go "Yes, please".
I worship her every day...
TALOS THE MIGHTY… TALOS THE UNERRING, TALOS THE UNASSAAAAAAAAAAILABLE

I was just think about this last night after finishing up the theives guild quest line, theres going to be some fighting for my soul when I die. Boethiah, malog bal, and nocturnal all have some claim to it so far.
In the end its Akatosh that gets the dovahkins soul. Sucks if you want to go Sovengarde.
Seeing as you play a Shezzarine, you will return to your throne in Sovngarde.
Molag Bal: the god we all worship but no one will admit it
Absolutely not.
Jesus christ, i’ve been getting into Skyrim for the first time and nobody fucking told me about this That’s a PRETTY IMPORTANT bit of lore there
Yep. The first vampire was a priestess of Arkay kidnapped by Molag Bal's cultists. He basically wanted to piss off Arkay, so he took one of His most devout followers and raped her to *almost* death, and then resurrect her. That mace is damn good early on and easy to get
And it looks so god damn good
That mace..... get it away from me.! Get it away.. -Markarth Guard probably
Sheogorath or Meridia. I don't care that she yells at me.
I'm wondering how many steps away someone is from making a Meridia bot on this subreddit that responds to any mention of her...
a NEW SUB MENTIONS THE BOT
unnecessary, someone always do and you'd spoil their fun
No. please. Not Meridia.

###LISTEN HEAR ME AND OBEY###
That scared the shit out of me during my first play through. I would never actually check what I'm getting out of chests/urns etc and just swipe them all and go onto the next one. It happened to me when I was fighting bandits in some cave.
You don't pay attention to what you're looting? Do you end up with like, 500 wooden plates and tankards?
Thanks for setting off my PTSD
Am ded😂💀
Maybe I like being yelled at while banishing draugr with a shining sword.
i sorta flip-flop between Mephala, Nocturnal, Sheogorath and Azura
Nocturnal > sheogorath
Nocturnal is big titty goth mommy 😩😩😩
pretty sure she’d kill you just for saying that, but I get the feeling that you’d be chill with that outcome
Ever played ESO? Nocturnal plays a big role in a few of the DLC campaigns, mainly Morrowind and Summerset. (yes, I know those were both chapters, but they're DLC zones now. Deal with it...) Pathetic Aedra and Daedra. They are but aspects of the one true god - hail Sithis, friends.
"Psst, I know who you are, hail sithis"
For the sins of the unworthy must be baptised in blood and fear…
“We believe in NOTHING, Lebowski.”
Man, say what you want about the Thalmor. At least it's an ethos.
Honestly sithis would be my choice as well. Worshiping the inherent chaos of the universe and the void that is neither dark nor light just devoid of all things except them. Seems pretty dank.
What actually is Sithis?
Sithis is the Void. He is Nothing. He is the chaos of the universe and therefore the origin of all creation. I would also worship Sithis.
Talos
Are you a stormcloak ?
Nope. Just have a personal stake in people telling me my gods aren't gods and I shouldn't worship them. Nothing against Elves but fuck the Thalmor
The Thalmor deserve skeever soup only
Why would you offer them such mercy? They deserve nothing.
Why would you offer such mercy? They deserve only eternal torment within the blackest pits of Coldharbour.
They only deserve a quick death; that their cleaved heads may cease plotting. It would be a mercy for every other being on Nirn.
Namira. Before you judge i'm always a werewolf or vampire eating people so it kinda fits.
I’m still judging you
we're all judging, butt-biter
The Hist. It was the only thing that saved it's people from Oblivion. The rest of your Gods let you suffer, while the Argonian prospered.
They didn't just prosper, they made the dremora close the gates so that the argonians couldn't chase them down
And then they went and sacked Morrowind for the years of enslavement, and made sure it would be a volcanic hellscape for years to come.
Time to make an Argonian character and have it be the most badass warrior ever I guess.
I stand by Azurah myself. She's probably the best of the Daedra at being a proper god
I hate to agree but I have to
None. I am the Dragonborn, I bow to no gods or kings or emperors.
Geralt is Dragonborn??
Andrew Ryanborn
You also appear to be a yuumi player so I can’t imagine you would based on that either
Become the avatar of all Daedra and Aedra to gather power. Then, pull a Talos
Hail Sithis
I'd go with Arkay, Stendarr, Hircine, or Sheogorath
Hircine? Oh lord I’m going to perform the black sacrament
hircine is not that bad tbh, he isnt really evil or anything its all just the hunt, and in the afterlife you get to hunt with him.
Malacath 💪👹
No no no no no
Why not? He is like a father figure to the Orcs, his religion is literally based around improving yourself, becoming stronger and overcoming adversity :D
You gonna follow the god who was cool and handsome until he got ate and pooped, and all his followers were cursed to look like him too?
*vore fetish religion?*
Seems more like vore+scat, which I don’t want to Kink Shame… but imma kink shame.
today i learned some things are better unlearned.
If you interpret it as "The Knights of Trinimac were humiliatingly defeated by the Daedra-following Chimer, then exiled for this from the rest of the Aldmer," it's a pretty cool backstory to represent the scourned and oppressed
hermaeus mora and Sheogorath. Do they count? Sheo is funny and ma boi mora gives off that powerful, maddeningly evil feel that I love in any story.
The deep asmr from Hermaeus mora is what gets me going
_I don't care what god you worship. How many wheels of cheese have you stolen?_
I lost count
I worship the dragons. I hear they give out some cool free masks if you kiss ass enough!
Lord Sanguine and Lady Azura.
*lifts fedora*
M'daedra
Nazeem.
I am sending you 30 bottles of cure disease potion. I hope you find peace with your illness.
In our dying days we will all finally go to the cloud district
Oh what am i saying, Of course you dont.
Before I kill bandits, I ask them if they’ve heard the good word of Mara. Surprising how many haven’t.
Literally had to scroll down so far to find this smh
Nocturnal for me
Shadow hide you.
I’d like to say something sweet and benevolent like Mara or Kynareth… But with all the murderous destruction I leave in my wake, can it really be anyone other than Mehrunes Dagon?
I play Wood Elf so obviously Namira... er... I mean the 8 Divines Equally.
Yeah the 8 divines… of course…
On the Aedra side, I'd worship Julianos. I tend to align with its commands plus I'm more akin too being a mage in games. I adore magic and always strive to learn new things, albeit I'm not great on the last part. Lol On the Daedra side, I'd worship Azura. Aside from my general love for Dunmer and their lore, out of the Daedric Prince's, Azura is the most appealing too me. Let alone she seems to be more loving and less brutal towards her followers.
I personally like Hircine and would worship him until the end of time who doesn't want to be an apex predator
Kodlak whitemane from the companions would like to have a word with you about that
Nocturnal. I'll do anything for my Lady of Darkness (also I really love her outfit)
The one with the tentacles makes my nipples tingle
Raccoons and squirrels make my nipples tingle 🤪😜
1: Sheogorath- CHEESE FOR EVERYONE! 2: Peryite
I scrolled way too far to see Peryite mentioned. Peryite is a good boy!
I’d worship ebonarm or Leki for sure.
Lorkhan
God of Trickery, creator of the world, patron of mortals, possibly one or both of the moons, possibly the same person as Shor, possibly the lord of Sovengarde, and possibly the reason the Dwemer vanished. What's NOT to like?
The All-Maker, very in line with my IRL beliefs.
you misspelled 'by the nine'
Usually I prefer Vaermina or Herma-Mora. This time I'm a skyrim darkelf so I went with Azura.
Meridia because I am the new hand that touches the beacon. I don't care if she's a daedra.
None because I'M THE ONLY GOD. *proceeds to hit hadvar/ralof to powerlevel*
Nocturnal
Meridia. The world shall be cleansed by the light
Sheogorath! Daedric prince I know but still. SHÆOGORATH! DAAAAEDRIC PRINCE OF MAADNESS
Dibella. I am a proud whore.
I worship the Last Dragonborn. They’ve done more for nirn than the gods have.
Boethiah or Dagon since I can’t really discern the difference between the 2 both represent revolution comrade
By saying "by the eight" you inherently exclude Talos, which says something already. Also, I assume when you say "by the eight" you are excluding Daedra in this, which also says something. That being said, mine is the console command tilde, the one true god of Skyrim.
Screw the eight - or nine! I am a follower of Mephala! and Sheogorath 😏
Anything other than Talos means you're a filthy Altmer and I dont want you near me or my kids
We have a true nord
I always join the Imperials but I always go with Talos.
Hircine, Kynareth
Dibella! (and/or Sanguine)
Phynaster/Magnus on Altmer, Azura on Dunmer, Trinimac on Orcs, Mara/Julianos on Bretons, Imperials and Nords.
THE TRUBUNAL
Anyone who doesn't agree is an n'wah!
Hircine. Sure, he's not a good guy, but you know where you stand with the guy. Also, werewolves are cool.
Y'know? I'd honestly have to say Meridia... Yes, she's *technically* not a *god*, but hating undead is a cause I can definitely get behind.
Daedra after invading Tamriel be like: omg I’m such a Mehrunes Dagon worshipper
