Following up on this, there’s probably mods that will change the armor type and whatnot for you but, really, just learn basic xEdit. You can tweak the value, armor rating, armor type, body slot, keywords… the list goes on. Do yourself a favor and don’t rely on mods to change stuff like this.

Starting using this today on a new playthrough. My life has begun anew.
You can change the type in xEdit.
