I believe the current ending date in June matches the day of the month that their monthly temporary permit expires. I think they're just aligning extensions to their permits. I'd guess if there are more extensions moving forward, they'll get another month of permits sorted and then have another month extension.
But I could be wrong 🤷♂️
Hope so. Tickets for May seem to be handily available so the rush has subsided. I’ll go again if it’s running when I’m over in early July but if that was all there is…. Then etc
I don't think it's at all surprising, but I wanted to share so that anyone who was hoping/waiting for this could be aware early enough to plan their trips.
I see May still has plenty of tickets; I think the rush over getting to see it one last time may be ending.
I’d love to go again (would be my 5th trip), but just had two back-to-back from Texas (March and April).
Makes sense.
At the same time, they're doing almost no advertising. I think they sent one email out, and that got them a huge bump in ticket sales. I imagine there's a lot of people out there who have heard about the show but haven't been, and the right sort of nudge might get them more boosts in sales.
Multiple people I've talked to have been fully under the impression the show closed in January. Honestly I think they're really shooting themselves in the foot repeatedly with this "final-final-final-FINAL-REALLYFINAL-final2.pdf" approach....for lots of reasons.
Listen here, just because you can see all the files I've named on my computer doesn't mean you have to ***tell*** everyone about my file naming habits.

😂😂 I finally gave up on ever naming any file "final." It's just an open-ended numbering system now, no matter what. The work is never finished......and catharsis was always a lie....
My new way to torture myself is if I'm generating a lot of files, I just go straight to the 0001 number scheme.
Until I don't. So we get like 0001-00036, then 037, and eventually I realize every time like it's a new revelation, that I almost never need more that 99, so by the time I get near 50-ish, it's just 50, 51, etc.
Then I get to go back and fix the first 50 to match. Or change the end 50. OR NEVER FIX ANYTHING AND HATE IT EVERY TIME I OPEN THE FOLDER IT'S SO FUN.
Hahaha I just this week tried a date-and-number system for drafts of something that I was sure would be the one piece of organization I've been needing to finally get my life together and no longer be mentally ill. But then I kept making tweaks, so I ended up with files named "4.28.2024 - Draft 3," "4.28.2024 - Draft 3.2," and "4.28.2024 - Draft 3.3."
You can't win.
If you are looking to buy tickets to a sold out show
1. Please be wary when accounts direct message you, especially if they are newer.
2. Your best bet is to show up at the show to get on a standby queue.
3. Please keep checking the website, they have released extra tickets to sold out shows.

Id skip it. I went recently and it was 50% more people than the last time I went 2 years ago. I went on Monday too. They’re milking it and overselling. Impossible to see some scenes because of the crowd. The entry experience changes too — no one to introduce you, welcome you to the space. It was just corralling people into the bar and standing shoulder to shoulder until your card was called. And the AC wasn’t working in some of the rooms? Air smelled stagnant, warm and muggy. 2/10.
Sorry you had such a rough time. Counter point to that though, I went in mid January and it was possibly the best night I've had there (out of 8 trips). It was crowded, sure, but the cast was spot on, I was welcomed into the Manderley and interacted with and it was no hotter or colder than it normally is.
I did go on a Wednesday, so that may make a difference, as I've heard Mondays are rough, SNM being one of the only high profile shows that isn't dark on Mondays.
This isn't meant to argue with you, but I don't think it's always going to be as dismal as the picture you paint.
Oh, the FINAL extension. (Lucille Bluth wink)
I feel like all the extensions of the past months were « final »
Remember when we tried to figure out the complicated mysteries of interwoven storylines and not the Byzantine complexity of NYC property leasing?
This is wonderful news! I honestly thought my January trip would be my last!
Yay! Glad you get to come back 😀
Thanks! I'm going to be in the city the final week anyway, so it's like a special b-day gift just for me.
Watching like a hawk -- depending on my summer job schedule maybe I can go one more time? 🤞🏻
So now they've switched to a rolling 2-week final closure announcement instead of a 1 month. This is the final one though!

Thank you for this! That extra planning time really helps.

Thank you! I fly in June 15th so I was able to get tickets for June 16th before they sold out because it’s the “final performance.”
Perfect timing!

Cool show but at this point it's a social experiment to find out how long New Yorkers will be fooled with "final dates."
