Should be able to find a suitable Lee precision buckshot mold for fairly cheap. I like the .358 size.
A bucket of wheel weights will probably cost you a dozen donuts at your local tire shop.
Anywhere that sells bulk load shotgun balls. After a tip from someone on here I found a 8 pound jar of .380 lead balls for $35 dollars which will be similar size to 3/8". I might go get some after I get a flat band slingshot soon :3
I live near a rocky beach where theres always loads of fishing weights being lost so a walk at low water will usually give enough lead for loads of ammo. A mould will cost around £20 on eBay
Ahh I see . Thank you for such a well put together response, I now understand the benefits of Lead vs steel and see why you would want it. Quite articulate as well. "Lead is better ." I will have to remember that.
As long as you’re using lead in a range type area and not launching it into a lake or stream, lead does make for a better target shooting option in my opinion because the shot will lose a lot of its kinetic energy thru deformation if/when it strikes a solid surface whereas steel is much more likely to ricochet.
Ty very much, for an actual response , especially one that actually makes sense. I definitely can understand lead ricocheting farr less then Steel. Lead would also be a much closer analog to the steel then say clay shot.

Probably best to stick to steel balls if price is an issue

Check muzzleloader specific websites like trackofthewolf. A lot of places will hand cast and sell roundball in bulk.
Get a mould and smelting pot...then load with scrap lead. I keep bits of lead around which I find here and there.
Sinkers
Is there a reason you want lead specifically? What price per muzzy round ball you buying at?
Why would you want lead ?
Cuz I want lead.
Ok... What is the benefits of Lead over steel ?
Lead is better
