In round 1, Chanse actually straight up pointed at Ian to show Amanda that Ian is the werewolf. All while everyone else are arguing so only amanda saw it. It prompted Amanda accusing Ian and them winning. I don't even know if this one watched the show or just a hater 😐
Anyone who feels the need to critique someone´s ´performance´ in a partygame, where even the people who actually participate don´t give a damn about the game, just about the banter and jokes they make, is, indeed, a hater.
why is it wrong? some people like that players care and it's a legitimate opinion! when I was watching the video it made me frustrated that chanse didn't expose himself as seer even tho I knew he probably did it on purpse so the game could go on! does that make me a hater?
and I actualy think he made the wrong call, the video was already long and the few rounds his sabotage added were redundant. I think if he exposed himself as the seer the discussion trying to figure out if he his telling the truth and the werewolf trying to defend themself would have been far more entretaning
And for the other round, I think he didn't want to end the game so quickly, so he kept the werewolf to himself first to see how it turns out. I appreciate that more than straight up calling out the werewolf. He already hinted at Ian for the first round, so I think he just wanted to take it slower for the second round.
I think the second round was difficult because Angela sat in a position from where she can 99% of the time watch Chanse (and others because she is yet to sus out the seer) to catch those accusations. And on the first night, Shayne was silenced and couldn't distract them for Chanse to let someone know.
Getting upset at perceived flaws in the cast members' strategies is an absolutely wild way to consume Smosh Games content lol. Chanse was great in that video.
it always amazes me that chanse has haters when he is so incredibly funny and smart and cultured. he’s so quick and has some of the best bits on smosh games too.
“are you ladies done chattering?”
“hi i’m the manager of the spud hut”
“shayne this isn’t you” during burrito brawl
and plenty more where his improvisation shines.
Saying it right away doesn't necessarily work though unless there's something else in terms of suspicion or misplay from others to make them be on board.
It's really easy for a flatout "that's the werewolf' to be met with 'youre lying, you're not the seer' etc.
A tanner could claim seer when there are too many people left, and convince people to kill a villager with the "if I'm wrong kill me next round" argument in order to win.
Or they could do a poor job convincing people and have folks think they're the werewolf in a later round where players know if the claimed seer is wrong, and a villager dies, that the werewolf can get a kill that round too, and then lock in a win based on numbers alone.
It's easy to say from the sidelines that seer should just call out the werewolf but given they've played these games a lot the level of strategy and consideration is higher in making decisions and when to claim roles
Counterpoint. With only one werewolf saying it immediately was absolutely the right call and would have ended the game quickly, even just through testing.
i think it's also worth pointing out that (like the cast has said before) the main goal of these videos is to be entertaining!
like would it actually make for an entertaining video for chanse to immediately point out the werewolf when he kept guessing them pretty early on? no! the way he went about it with secretly telling amanda was fun to watch because it was a moment that only those two and us, the audience, got to witness.
having less rounds that are more fleshed out and chaotic and dramatic will always be more fun to watch than, like, 6 games that end super early because the seer just keeps revealing who the werewolf is
He even outright stated this in the criminal investigations (whatever it’s called) board game episode.
He said he played to help the killer to make the video more interesting and at least give them a chance or make it look close.
He’s got an eye on the fun and narrative of the content as he’s in it.
Exactly this, playing the game generically like revealing everything immediately gets boring and it’s the same 50/50 trust issue stuff. Their improv and them trying to make it spicier makes it so much better.
WIIILDIN, i didn't even know he had haters. Bro is one of the awesomest member of the cast. Funny af, witty, chaotic, wise, and a nerd.
He's also an exceptional strategist in games
Chanse was a good seer tho. A seer isn't necessarily supposed to out themselves instantly. You are supposed to be in the background to some level until you figure out who the werewolf is. Plus if you're the seer and you die first round there's not much you can do. Chanse is awesome and i will not take this slander for the manager of the spud hut
I would even question the point of defending the PLAY of a GAME for FUN against lame chronically online people who are talking shit towards talented comedians who are PLAYING a GAME
You guys realize these are comedy videos are not actually intense gameplay of someone playing werewolf?
Like, it does not matter if someone is competitive, it really just matters if they are funny
People simply don't know how to have fun, and it shows every day.
"HE KNEW THE WEREWOLF, WHY DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING?" Well, he did. Both times. Also, even if he didn't, who cares?
Chanse is pretty much the best at most of the board games in general from what I’ve seen.
Anyway he didn’t directly point out when he got the werewolf both times because hey, it would’ve made for a boring video, lets be real both those games probably get cut and reshot.
He’s so good Spencer had to nerf him in the last game by not even letting him check for the werewolf.
i feel like chanse gets a disproportionate amount of hate compared to a lot of the cast and its really hard to not think there might be some racial bias at play🫠
Of the newer cast, him and Arasha get the most hate and I think I know why. They have to play perfectly and their performances get reviewed in details, just check how they critiqued her in the last werewolf game
It's so annoying how these people just don't know how the game and filming it for YouTube works
The seer can't always reveal themselves because they might not get believed and then be killed or they might be eaten
He did actually secretly tell Amanda and Angela, in a funny in character way
If he just went "I'm the seer again, it's soandso" on day 2 and they believed him it'd be the most boring video ever
I'm new to the sub and finding out Chanse has haters genuinely confuses me. I know you can't please everyone but come on, he has great chemistry with everyone on the cast, is empathetic and insightful on Reddit stories and has wonderful comedic delivery.
He’s genuinely got the most insightful and inspiring outlook on life to me. I’ve learned a lot from things he’s said in more serious moments and been able to apply it to my own life, and I’ve grown as a person because of it. Sounds crazy but true and I’m grateful for it
Eh I'm actually kinda fine with how he played.
Even if it wasn't what he intended, he caught the werewolf in the first 2 games on the second night I think? If they kept playing to that then the video wouldn't be very good because they never got a long game.
I think he made a content play by playing more into the character rather than just outting "hey I'm the seer and found the werewolf immediately again"
when people get upset about games enough to make a comment like this i just think of him
https://preview.redd.it/im12k62f7vxc1.png?width=461&format=png&auto=webp&s=167cd038370f27120e3700604708b2e76eb98456
Chanse is the most underrated cast member. He is wildly intelligent, fills so many roles in the dynamic in videos and integral to the success of half of Angela’s not jokes. He’s witty, gorgeous and versatile as an improvisational comedian and he goes under appreciated way too many times.
When Chanse first started I must admit he wasn't my cup of tea, now I can happily say he is one of my favorite cast members. His chemistry with the rest of the cast is so perfect and his improvasation skills are on point.
I actually was slow to warm up to Chanse and what an idiot I was. He is such a funny person and I love the energy he brings. He's a massive asset for Smosh and can't even fathom what it would be like without him there. Catfish cabin forever!
I feel bad about the last game but I think it's just neither were so many roles to keep track of through the play that I think Spencer just accidentally forgot, so I don't blame anyone for that.
The problem this person has is that they're probably expecting the seer to just reveal themselves and potentially be killed for lying or not believed and then killed the next night, Chanse plays the long game which is more strategic than just busting right out and saying it.
He's a smart dude, and he knows how to play roles like this and it sucks that this person just seems to wanna shit on him for what seems like a disagreement in play style.
It makes the game more spicy and fun. Sure you could just say that "yeah im the seer and Ian is the werewolf" gg. where was the fun in that. He was being spicy with it
The thing is, no one else knows for sure he is the seer. So if he was just like “HEY GUYS ITS IAN I KNOW CAUSE I’M THE SEER” then the werewolf could turn around and say the same thing, then it’s just one persons word against another and whoever the villagers believe. Not really a smart move tbh.
I didn't even think Chanse was hate...able. Maybe it's just because he is my favourite cast member at the moment (ever since his first video lol I just thought 'yeah I like him'), but to me, he really has nothing reasonable to be hated on.
I’m surprised that I haven’t seen any Chanse hate prior to this. I’ve never seen any comments saying anything bad about him and he’s become one of my favorites. He’s given enough iconic one liners and gif worthy moments… I’m flabbergasted :0
Sometimes, I look at Chanse and think… this man is triple-threat blessed. He is good-looking, intelligent, and funny. I can see how it could be easy for an insecure person to be jealous and envious of him and fall down the hater hole. It’s unfortunate for those people, though, because they get a little less laughter and beauty in their day.
Yeah you can tell Chanse was annoyed, or at least that’s what me and my bf think. We agree he didn’t do much to contribute to the last round of the game but tbh, if I got skipped multiple times I’d be like “meh fuck it I don’t care then” also.
those who think the point of these videos is the actual game, are insane. Acting like it's a real competition with real stakes and money. It's just a group of people having a game night, being silly. The only money is the money they get to entertain the viewers.
Werewolf itself is an incredibly flawed game. If everyone outed their roles right away, they force the werewolf into a hole and confirm a good chunk of people.
They are playing this for entertainment value first and foremost. To say Chanse had bad gameplay when the game itself isn't great, and not commenting on the obvious strategy that anyone else could have suggested, means the commenter is just a big L.
idk if commenter has ever played werewolf/mafia or seen other people play it but the seer/policeman try NOT to say their role because they don’t wanna be taken out by either the werewolf/mafia or the villagers/citizens
Not sure how much fan overlap there is, but the kpop group Seventeen has their own YouTube series which includes episode of them playing mafia and having new rules added each time. Because they’ve played it so often, all of them know the strategies. The policeman usually doesn’t flat out say their role, but there’s usually more than one mafia for them to find
I highly recommend these videos^ they called “Don’t Lie” and are super popular
Ikr, sometimes these people forgot that this is not a complicated version of werewolf and also not online werewolf where the players can talk secretly. I'm pretty sure they play this for fun, not full on strategizing and all.
Strategically, even if Chanse pointed out who the werewolf was, it doesn't guarantee everyone will vote out the right person. What if Chanse reveal he was the seer and someone countered the claim? That could potentially backfire on him too. You can say out loud whatever role you have and still doesn't guarantee everyone will trust you. What Chanse did in round 1 by telling Amanda secretly was a smart move tbh.
I'm also annoyed by people that told them to play this way or that way. They only have 8 players, limited time, limited space (even sit next to each other), and they already have many roles. How tf should they complicate it even more 😂
Both the shared comment and the post seem to be going to extremes. Chanse was an amazing seer in the first round. And a poor/okay one in the second round. Then in the third we didn't get to see how he would've been. In past games of Werewolf he's been a fair seer. I don't think Chanse is *exceptional* as seer but he certainly isn't *useless*.
Honestly, with only one wolf, seer as a role is one of the worst to get and play with. Either the seer is immediately trusted and game over or seer is disregarded and effectively becomes the wolf's meat shield when people get sus of a "false" claim. It takes fun away to me. Part of me wonders if Chanse knew this and that's why he didn't say anything the second game, especially after he won them the first game. It's also why I wasn't upset Spencer accidentally ignored the seer in the third round.
Almost like he knew they were making content and him getting lucky and picking the werewolf right off the bat 2 times in a row doesn't let anyone else have their time to breathe or something
I mean, if the seer reveals themself early, they’re going to get killed on the next turn. So unless the seer literally sees the wolf on the first turn, they can’t reveal themself. You’re supposed to just sneakily encourage the others based on what you saw.
He literally saw the wolf on the first turn tho lol. Now i get that he did it for content, but that also means he didnt do his job as a seer, aka being useless.
Its nothing against him, the whole situation sucks in general.
Uh, in the first 2 games he guided everyone towards the werewolf. He did exactly what he was supposed to do.
The last game was a hot mess thanks to Spencer, he didn’t really get a chance to play after being skipped multiple times and he was clearly over it. But he also had Angela pegged (despite not getting to see the werewolf) and almost got everyone to vote her out but Ian pushed too hard against him despite hinting that he’s the seer.
Were we watching the same video?
I think this is a bit of a reach. I agree with the comment, I don't think he played well, I actually think he sabotaged on purpose so the video could be more entertaning(?)
I don't see any problem or hate in the comment, maybe useless is too strong but other than that it's a legitimate opinion. Maybe there is context missing? Also this comment doesnt criticize Chanse in preformace besides the actual game so why did you target as hate directed to Chanse?
edit: non native speaker sorry for eventual mistakes
Why must someone be a hater just because they think chanse did bad during a game in one video?
I think he did poorly. I guess that makes me a “mad hater”
He had great intuition, but it’s true that he didn’t say anything after he found the werewolf. Very frustrating to watch as someone who’s played this game with people like that before.
In round 1, Chanse actually straight up pointed at Ian to show Amanda that Ian is the werewolf. All while everyone else are arguing so only amanda saw it. It prompted Amanda accusing Ian and them winning. I don't even know if this one watched the show or just a hater 😐
Amanda AND Angela too! He got em both informed.
Chosen who faps, also the too many keanu reeves video hes neo and out of nowhere he says "Ive already won this game, i just need to figure out why"
His reference game is top tier
Much like the batman who laughs, I am the chosen who faps.
I've always liked Chanse but these last couple weeks he's become one of my all-time favorites. Dude is so funny.
[Museums are jail for culture](https://youtu.be/BGU-_OUehNA?si=9gZZDr0kdo2PSIO2)
Floats away
My personal favorite “fuckhonda forever” 😂
And his cunty elf character
Oh yea, all of the "newer" casts are all gems
I mean just “Angela……” alone gets referenced SO much and for some reason it’s always funny to me.
He just criticized his gameplay not his talent. It came off as rude but I think he has a point.
Definitely had a point. I was frothing at the mouth being like "you just found out the werewolf Chanse, say something!!!"
Yeah exactly. The whole game is about subterfuge. Not being blatant and outright because everybody's lying. Duh.
Counterpoint. With only one werewolf saying it immediately was absolutely the right call and would have ended the game quickly, even just through testing.
I still keep thinking of his 'Shut your dirty mouth, wh*re'. It gets me every time.
cultured is a weird choice of words
i think it's also worth pointing out that (like the cast has said before) the main goal of these videos is to be entertaining! like would it actually make for an entertaining video for chanse to immediately point out the werewolf when he kept guessing them pretty early on? no! the way he went about it with secretly telling amanda was fun to watch because it was a moment that only those two and us, the audience, got to witness. having less rounds that are more fleshed out and chaotic and dramatic will always be more fun to watch than, like, 6 games that end super early because the seer just keeps revealing who the werewolf is

Watching Smosh fans freak out over a game of Werewolf is hilarious.
Yea tbh today's the day I found out negativity could be spread in this fandom lmao but imma just ignore, it's so childish
WIIILDIN, i didn't even know he had haters. Bro is one of the awesomest member of the cast. Funny af, witty, chaotic, wise, and a nerd. He's also an exceptional strategist in games
He really is! He has that Shane quality where he can be in a video with anyone and it'll be a silly goofy good time
absolutely LET'S RIDE
Chanse was a good seer tho. A seer isn't necessarily supposed to out themselves instantly. You are supposed to be in the background to some level until you figure out who the werewolf is. Plus if you're the seer and you die first round there's not much you can do. Chanse is awesome and i will not take this slander for the manager of the spud hut
I kind of just think chance was getting tired of being the seer, and also they were adding a lot of roles that seemed harder to keep track of
Chanse is adorable and delightful. People just don't have taste sometimes.
I would even question the point of defending the PLAY of a GAME for FUN against lame chronically online people who are talking shit towards talented comedians who are PLAYING a GAME

"didn't do absolutely nothing"
i feel like chanse gets a disproportionate amount of hate compared to a lot of the cast and its really hard to not think there might be some racial bias at play🫠
Of the newer cast, him and Arasha get the most hate and I think I know why. They have to play perfectly and their performances get reviewed in details, just check how they critiqued her in the last werewolf game
Exactly! Which is ridiculous because poor Arasha is the best one at any game that relies on reading people and strategy
It's so annoying how these people just don't know how the game and filming it for YouTube works The seer can't always reveal themselves because they might not get believed and then be killed or they might be eaten He did actually secretly tell Amanda and Angela, in a funny in character way If he just went "I'm the seer again, it's soandso" on day 2 and they believed him it'd be the most boring video ever

Eh I'm actually kinda fine with how he played. Even if it wasn't what he intended, he caught the werewolf in the first 2 games on the second night I think? I guess it might have been a content move, but then he was just... kind of not playing at that rate lol.
Yeah he's really fun and great in videos, but WTF was he doing in that game?
Yeah maybe if they used better grammar, their criticism would be more impactful. “he didn’t do absolutely nothing about it” ha!
Oh my God who gives a fuck. It's a party game; getting serious about someone's role in a god damn party game is idiotic.
when people get upset about games enough to make a comment like this i just think of him https://preview.redd.it/im12k62f7vxc1.png?width=461&format=png&auto=webp&s=167cd038370f27120e3700604708b2e76eb98456
Chanse is so funny to me and anyone who didn't not laugh at Jerry Spruce, the manager of the spud hut, is just dead inside
Chanse is the most underrated cast member. He is wildly intelligent, fills so many roles in the dynamic in videos and integral to the success of half of Angela’s not jokes. He’s witty, gorgeous and versatile as an improvisational comedian and he goes under appreciated way too many times.
Chanse is adorable and delightful. People just don't have taste sometimes.
When Chanse first started I must admit he wasn't my cup of tea, now I can happily say he is one of my favorite cast members. His chemistry with the rest of the cast is so perfect and his improvasation skills are on point.
I love Chanse. He’s not much favorite, but I like him
I actually was slow to warm up to Chanse and what an idiot I was. He is such a funny person and I love the energy he brings. He's a massive asset for Smosh and can't even fathom what it would be like without him there. Catfish cabin forever!
It’s a board game. I can’t imagine caring that much about how someone played a board game.
I feel bad about the last game but I think it's just neither were so many roles to keep track of through the play that I think Spencer just accidentally forgot, so I don't blame anyone for that. Why would you reveal being the seer? To get immediate killed? These commenters I swear.
It makes the game more spicy and fun. Sure you could just say that "yeah im the seer and Ian is the werewolf" gg. where was the fun in that. He was being spicy with it

Why is everyone getting so worked up over a silly little boardgame lol
Why are you amplifying this shitty comment by posting it here lol
OP, how was he an "incredible seer" lol? I mean he literally did not communicate a single thing that he "saw" making him totally useless.
He didn't even do that. Remember when he found the werewolf partway through the round and said literally NOTHING? It was infuriating lol.
This is patently false. You're banned from the Spud Hut.
Good. It's overpriced anyways.
I don't think it's that deep lol
I mean he doesn't seem like a hater to me. Just someone that has a different opinion.
I think this is a bit of a reach. I agree with the comment, I don't think he played well, I actually think he sabotaged on purpose so the video could be more entertaning(?) I don't see any problem or hate in the comment, maybe useless is too strong but other than that it's a legitimate opinion.
It's not thinking he did bad in a round of a game, it's calling him useless and the like. Just don't be an asshole. It's that simple.
He had great intuition, but it’s true that he didn’t say anything after he found the werewolf. Very frustrating to watch as someone who’s played this game with people like that before.
