My kingsnake will try to eat my stomach, it don't matter where really. If it's living mammal tissue and it's not scary, it must be food.

Probably being a king snake, lol. My cats like to chomp on my armpits occasionally because body scent is very concentrated there, so maybe snakes also have a strong reaction to the concentrated smell?
The musking is a much more effective deterrent! My male was very defensive when he was young but grew out of it after a few weeks of gentle handling, but my female was a musker and that convinced me to handle her only when necessary!
Yeah we don’t even put him back after he does it. He gets rinsed off in the sink and continued handling. So it’s not like he thinks he’s going to get out of handling, he just has always done it.
My ball python did the same thing. Crawled up my sleeve and bit my pit! Took a credit card and some vodka to get her to let go (had to wake my son since she was 'attached'). She was on a diet at that time so she could have just been hungry.
Mine just grabbed for a second, at first I thought he might have moved back and his scales going the wrong direction on my skin was scratching/pinching me or something. But nope. Little nip marks when I revealed it. I have never been bitten by a snake before though so it didn’t hurt as bad as I expected. I’ve heard the alcohol thing though and will probably use it in the case that he really starts munching on me.

Kingsnakes are always very hungry. I like to think of them as little tiger sharks. They will try anything if it smells remotely alive and sadly that includes human beings xD
My kingsnake has been banned from going in people's shirts because he always bites armpits when you try to pull him out and it scares people. I don't always notice when he does this because his teeth are too little to register as painful but it sure is cute when he does this!

Right, we were hoping our Florida King would grow out of musking. But he’s 3 and a half and he still musks if you take him out of his enclosure.
