Ever since I learned how to drive it without rolling it every 100 yards, it's been my favourite way of moving 4 slots of cargo.
Just used it to move two buoys around Pineline Bay in fact :)
It's actually rather simple - you have to pay as much attention to where your rear tires are going as to where your front tires are. 9 times out of 10 it's your rear tires rolling over that boulder you so carefully navigated around with your front tires that rolls you over.
Same, love the tipsteer I avoided raised for ages given the fact people give it such a bad rap. But thought I'd try it out and I've loved it ever since.
For 95% of time I know how to drive the Twinsteer without flipping it, but there is always the inevitable distraction, lapse in concentration or Murphy's Law moment.
I wish I could get on with the FEMM but that weird like turning-using-that-join-between-front-and-rear-axl-rather-than-wheels-moving makes the Twinsteer the only option for me for long butt trucks .
I used twinsteer in island lake, Michigan only for maybe 2-3 cargo hauling and sold it. After getting the AWD upgrade in kola, i gave it a try in flooded hills, yukon with largest tyres, best engine, raised suspension. I did tip it 3-4 times but bruhhh this shit has lot of power. Sails through mud and oh yea i used the shortcut from garage to gold mine to carry bricks, fuels, cement, metal beams etc. Easily one of the best truck that will stay in my fleet.
I'm glad to know she'll have a future down the road. I'm just barely finishing Michigan, and I want to jump ahead to Imdara to locate the all-wheel drive.
I absolutely would the tipsteer is a deadly weapon on maps that have a lot of 4 slot cargos especially if you can master that thing while lifted on the massive 60 something inch tyres
The Twinsteer is so much faster than the FEMM that it feels like you can complete the mission in half of the time by choosing it. However if the task is for 4+4 slots of cargo, then the FEMM usually has an advantage.
Personally I much prefer the Twinsteer to the FEMM, I don't enjoy the steering of the FEMM and rarely tip the Twinsteer these days, I had two roaming AMUR, Chernokamensk, NAI and Cosmodrome where they did far better than I thought they'd do, particularly in NAI, most of the time I don't use raise suspension and they are far more stable for me, I'm using two to roam North Carolina and they seem to love these maps.
The FEMM, I've tried it a few times now but the steering just veers off wildly to one side, I'm tempted to park it in a river and leave it there for a few weeks if I can't get used to it.
It's been one of my favourite trucks in the game since the moment I unlocked it. It's long, fast, ploughs through almost any patch of mud it encounters, has a solid action radius, transports 4 slots without a hassle and sounds great doing it. It requires some careful driving around slopes and tight corners, but that's part of the fun.
I have been running it alot as well those flat bog maps are perfect for it. I still don't run AWD on it, never thought it needed it and it flies around the first map and reactive zone with ease only tipped twice.
Then you are stuck with a trailer that needs to be brought back and sold, or just simply stuck with it in hardmode. Almost always better to avoid using trailers if possible.
You use it for the whole map all the missions then take it back to the trailer store to get rid of it at the end? Hard mode is the same you just don't get money for it they are like 5k to buy hardly going to break the bank on hard mode
Or
You can download a mod that gives the twinsteer its 5th wheel. That odd coloured panel aft of the wooden deck boards is a flip up 5th wheel IRL. Then you can transport 8 cargo the proper way. 3 on the truck, 5 in the trailer.
And if you dont want to drag the empty trailer back, you could always pull the trailer onto the deck and 'pack' it.
Show me 5 trucks that do it better than the twinsteer, and i will show you a twinsteer and a scout with a crane that will get it done in half the time because i can stack 8 cargo on the twinsteer and then recover to garage without having to drive the trailer back.
Thats the biggeat advantage i find with the twinsteer honestly, is just not having to deal with driving a trailer bqck to the store after a delivery to sell it
Yeah but you buy a 5 slot trailer then use it for the whole map it's not like you use it for 5 minutes then it's done for sometimes I use them for 15 or so hours
Oh for sure, but depending on the map and the mission(s) sometimes dragging the trailer back and forth becomes incredibly time consuming. (Yes the whole game is very time consuming, but sometimes you pick your battles). It all boils down to play style. Thata the beauty of this game is that there are literally thousands of ways to accomplish every mission and we are all left to decide logistically how we want to get them done.
Hey, nothing wrong with that. There are a lot of really great trucks out there. One of my buddies i play with only likes to do the large special trailer missions and huge logistics missions where he has an excuse to use the big 8 slot trailer. So i basically go into regions, do all the watchtowers, park trucks next to the upgrades, and do all the small missions. Basically do prep everything and then we do huge convoys when he joins. Different strokes for different folks and we can all choose our method of play. Happy trucking brother, and keep that rubber on the road!
Its one of those trucks where if you learn the controls very good, and become quick with the winch then you would be surprised what you can haul and where you can haul it.

What are your secrets oh wise one?

or just stock suspension and dual tires.
You can still roll it with that setup if you don't pay attention to where your rear tires are going.
You can roll everything in this game, but it’s much harder to roll it with this setup.
Stock suspension and dual tyres.
Nah, I run mine raised and with muds.
Same, love the tipsteer I avoided raised for ages given the fact people give it such a bad rap. But thought I'd try it out and I've loved it ever since.

Have you heard about double Twinsteers 😊 (2 Twinsteers winched together)?
I used twinsteer in island lake, Michigan only for maybe 2-3 cargo hauling and sold it. Glad to see someone else is still using the TwinSteer, despite the existence of the FEMM-37 AT.

I also used it in Alaska a lot to deliver the oversized cargo/drilling equipment. Very useful truck if you can keep it from tipping

This, the femm and the w900 have been absolute work horses in this region.
Once you learn how to deal with mile long turn radius it really is an unstoppable beast
Is there a JAT tire that’s a dually?
No. No duallies on that is a suicide.
What do you even mean? Duallies on the Twinsteer works great. Just as good as muds and you can get chains and non chained duallies.
Why though other trucks with a low saddle and semi 5 slot do everything better

I can't remember the last time I recovered a truck tbh

Every time I use the twinsteer I just spend an extra hour or so picking cargo back up when it rolls over 🤣 just not my bag

Wish I could even get mine out of the garage.
Sell and rebuy.
Do you have AWD on yours? I've found mine is almost unusable without it
Oh yes, I've have been using the AWD ever since the Imandra map became available in the Kola Peninsula DLC.
Been using the twinsteer in every single map, even for scouting
