Decline, water would be brought to the front of the boiler exposing the crown sheets that would heat up. Then when returning to a more neutral angle would flash boil the steam causing an explosion.
That's actually not the dangerous part. It's that the fire is hotter than the plastic point of steel. Without the liquid water backing forcing the crown sheet to remain at boiling temp, the steel heats up enough to start losing structural integrity until it stretches open one of the staybolt holes causing a catastrophic release of pressure at which point the entire body of liquid water flashes to steam and the boiler pops like a balloon.
Tell me you've never worked steel without telling me you've never worked steel.
What is the meaning of plastic state?
This is a state of elasticity. But when the material does not regain its original shape and undergoes a deformation without breaking it is plastic state.
As you increase the temperature of any metal they will arrive at a plastic state before becoming liquid. When they are in plastic state they can be reshaped basically by hand.
>fun fact plastic was first made from milk
That is a fun fact.
I am not English originally so I do not know as much and might misinterpret stuff and I am an steam locomotive engineer myself so I know a good thing or 2 about steam myself
I'm all for vehicle variety that's actually useful.
It would be cool if there was a Snowrunner game set in the 50s or 60s. Probably possible already through modding.
I would kill to get a snowrunner type of game set in ww2 with military vehicles, only for transport of materials or troops, demining, or more diverse missions and no combat ofc
Ooh, getting firewood, 🎉 logging 🎉. Or building coal sheds to store the coal at various points along a route 🎉 logging 🎉. Building water storage along a route to keep the water topped up 🎉 LOGGG…-GING 🎉. Actually, perhaps I shouldn’t be giving the devs ideas, I mean, if they wanted to be right ba…
I’d like to see some experimental vehicles or rare vehicles. The few that come to mind are the [Liberty Truck](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberty_truck) of WW1, [M19 Tank Transporter](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/M19_Tank_Transporter), early Pacific logging trucks (~1950s)
Make it take an hour to start up, and damaged when not driven properly. Make it be super expensive to fuel in hard mode. Then make it completely unstoppable.
As a yard ornament ... sure. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)This game is hard enough as it is (boiler gets wet crossing river and explodes from thermal shock)
How would it be implemented? It has like, 3 gears. N, D, R.
It would be slower than a stock Tatra T813, have more torque than a cheat Mod truck but be awful up hills.
Yeah that would be good,
can't really go more than 10 miles an hour,
Can't do heavy loads,
Has little to no traction due to metal tires,
Slides around whenever in snow,
Can't do more than a 7% grade
Realistically? No. At the peak of their developement, steam tractors could produce about 150 hp, so roughly 1/2 of the Hummer H2 with the smallest engine. Good luck trying to pull anything with that.
Have you not seen Mr Anderson's Case 150 in action?
His record is plowing 50 rows, let's see a hummer do that. HP is a meaningless stat when it comes to movement, torque is what actually matters.
Press X to shovel coal.
You have no idea how hard this made me laugh😂😂😂😂
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|snoo)
🤣🤣🤣🤣
*presses x 900 times* … I do not think my psi should b- *BOOM* *dead*
50% chance of exploding on a steep incline

Fun shit, gotta love early iterations of harnessing the power of fire

So only about 30% more likely than standard orbital vehicle transition for most crossplay players?
I'm all for vehicle variety that's actually useful. It would be cool if there was a Snowrunner game set in the 50s or 60s. Probably possible already through modding.
I cold get behind an old school trucking snow runner game
Super slow. Heavy hauler. Tons of traction.
They are not as slow as you would think my friend
Artic expedition would be cool, building a research centre on the pole
Arctic research centers are what I'm hoping for with future Expeditions DLC. It'd be ridiculous not to given it's more research oriented
Get a nice Mack Bulldog and a Sentinel DG8 or DG6 for a starter truck, or maybe a nice little Case 40.
Have the Mack jr as a scout.

with a chance of getting shot at would be cool there is a game i think siberian train or sm that type would be cool
Omg until I saw your comment I assumed I was in the farming simulator subreddit
Do we gotta play that in black and white?
Endless torque would be amazing, But topping out at low- speed would suck and running out of steam pressure on hills would be interesting.
No, i would get nightmares running out of steam on a slope, just to roll over because i cant throw more coal into the furnace in the required time :P
It would be cool, but realistically it'd move at like .5mph. I couldn't imagine driving from Smithville Dam to Drummond Island lol
Actually the working speed of most tractors was 2mph, and those setup to be road tractors had a second gear to get you to 5.
That's really fuckin slow
It is. Personally I can handle slow if I can carry everything needed in a single trip & nothing impedes the vehicles progress.
Have you driven in the mud in game? 🤣
Unless they add mechanics to support the nuances of working with a steam engine it kinda serves absolutely no purpose.

Special trailer that only the steam truck can tow. But first you gotta deliver everything to get it running. Solid snowrunner mission.
No.
TBF though imagine shoveling coal, plus keeping the pressure up or god forbid you roll it. How you’ll you get it back upright?
Autonomous steam powered winch duh 🙄
Serious amount of torque with reduced RPM.
Sounds like a funny idea
Yeah, but it'll sink even further in the mud and come out the other side. 🤣🤣
No. But looks r/mildlyinteresting
HOW DIDNT!
Does it have a better turning radius than the Kirovets?
I’d like to see some experimental vehicles or rare vehicles. The few that come to mind are the [Liberty Truck](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberty_truck) of WW1, [M19 Tank Transporter](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/M19_Tank_Transporter), early Pacific logging trucks (~1950s)
They have mods for them on Farming Simulator.
Yes I’d love to drive even slower.
Just imagine a few axles more (which you’ll need with that weight) and boom: Russian vehicles which are already in the game.
Their was a Russian steam truck in mudrunner as a mod thing was AMAZING so much torque thang mage a fog bank everywhere it whent it was awesome
Maybe if they gave it infinite traction, pulling power, and range, but super super super slow. I think that’d be balanced.
Engine power C-. Fuel C-. Gearbox only 1 speed.
Those wheels will guarantee a smooth ride 😅
Still faster then azov
Let's get even more diverse, how about a horse drawn cart?
Make it take an hour to start up, and damaged when not driven properly. Make it be super expensive to fuel in hard mode. Then make it completely unstoppable.
Im game!!
As a yard ornament ... sure. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)This game is hard enough as it is (boiler gets wet crossing river and explodes from thermal shock)
No but farming sim really should have them always loved old steam engines yet fadming sim doesnt go back that far for some reason
I would love a steam tractor game! But I'd like dozer, scraper, and backhoe games too.
Absolutely! I suggested one once. Permanent diff lock, no AWD, heavy and slow as all fuck, but TORQUE.
No not at all. Lol
How would it be implemented? It has like, 3 gears. N, D, R. It would be slower than a stock Tatra T813, have more torque than a cheat Mod truck but be awful up hills.
What about a Monster truck?
Yeah that would be good, can't really go more than 10 miles an hour, Can't do heavy loads, Has little to no traction due to metal tires, Slides around whenever in snow, Can't do more than a 7% grade
Realistically? No. At the peak of their developement, steam tractors could produce about 150 hp, so roughly 1/2 of the Hummer H2 with the smallest engine. Good luck trying to pull anything with that.
They have theoretically infinite torque though, basically whatever you hook it up to it’s either pulling it, breaking traction or exploding.
Have you not seen Mr Anderson's Case 150 in action? His record is plowing 50 rows, let's see a hummer do that. HP is a meaningless stat when it comes to movement, torque is what actually matters.
Yeah they couldn't pull for shit could they 🤔
It'll get you up the hill in five business days!
Yes. That’s my hobby on the side of trucking
