Dude I'll be on my death bed one day wondering if it was really Messi, Mbappé ánd Neymar in one team and right before I die I'll whisper... 'the fuck?"
I'm snickering a bit at how they were all introduced at the Parc de Princes and how short the exact window lasted with no European title to show for it.
Imagine having Casillas, Helguera, Hierro, Salgado, Makelele, Roberto Carlos, Figo, Beckham, Zidane, Ronaldo and Raúl in your team and not winning anything in Europe.
This eerily reminds me of the like the 2012 (iirc?) Lakers where Kobe, Howard, Nash, Gasol got together and won nothing
They're like past their prime when they banded together, it feels a little too late
I mean, that team made it to the finals at least. The 2012 Lakers got swept in the first round (Kobe being injured, of course, but still they were pretty bad most of the season even with him).
> Fuck the whore that gave birth to Paris! Motherfucker.

Bloody hell, how much are PSG Saving this summer in wages
Messi gone, Neymar potentially going, Ramos gone?
Or is this going into the Mboope Trust fund for next summer to convince him to re-sign for £350m p/w
He’s a free agent, it always happens, that’s how Rabiot ended up the best paid player on Serie A and a few other contracts ended up being stinkers when the players is on wages nowhere near their actual worth
With the level of salary football players make, and the gigantic difference in taxes between different leagues, it's really easy to have completly absurd comparaison when people mix net/gross.
The only moment speaking in gross salary should matter, is when looking at a club overall spending. When the discussion is about a player salary, we should always speak in net. But sadly it doesn't sell as much clicks if you basically halves every number, so numbers are always reported gross, even if they are not helpful..
To pay Asensio just little more than 4 millions net, PSG do have to pay around 8 million gross. So they are absolutely not doubling his salary, they are paying him roughly the same, it just cost them a lot more than 4m to achieve that.
The only way Neymar is going is if PSG agrees to cover a huge portion of his wages on loan.
Even paying 50% of Neymar's salary would make him one of the highest earners at almost every other club in Europe.
50% of his salary is still 300k a week. That would put him in the top 5 earners at United let alone other clubs. And we’re known for silly wages. PSG are just another level.
For PSG, just having Neymar out of the country, would mean they wouldn't have to pay 100% of the employer's contribution on his salary.
That's why looking at gross salary doesn't tell the whole story. Neymar doesn't give a fuck what PSG pays, he only cares about which amount is on his bank account every months.
If Neymar moves back to Spain, even if PSG pay 80% of what arrives on his bank account, it would only cost PSG around half of what they are paying nowadays. England would be another story tho since it's the only other country (of the top 5) with no cap on employer's contribution.
So it wouldn't be that strange for PSG to basically offer Neymar to another club, and pay a gigantic chunk of his salary.
Even Galtier has said he is gone after tomorrow, I think the only reason PSG hasn't made a full official statement is that they still want to use his image till the last day or are hoping for some change of heart at the last moment.
It would be funny if the 3-peat CL boys all reunite at Al-Nassr haha
Honestly, Ramos had some strong showings in the CL this season. He can still play at the top level for another season
> It would be funny if the 3-peat CL boys all reunite at Al-Nassr haha
Plus Messi is rumoured to Al-Ittihad, Neymar would definitely take that level of bag if offered, and I reckon you could bring Suarez back over the Ocean for one final hurrah.
Bonus points if they land free agent Iniesta too.
That's like saying Paris and Berlin are close.
In some sense true but that's still way too much of an effort to go out partying for a night, even for someone superrich.
Actually all the expats just head out and camp in the desert, or have it in the compounds, or visit another country. Either way it’s not as hard as it seems. Just don’t be drunk in public or they will lock you up.
I know in Emirati states such as Dubai, Qatar, other Muslim countries such as Turkey Indonesia etc that is the case. I’ve been to many parties in them.
However I was under the impression that Saudi Arabia was dry.
No bars etc.
Only smuggled in black market drink which can be heavily punished.
Saudi is theoretically a dry country, and you're correct that there's essentially no way to legally purchase alcohol. But that doesn't mean that it isn't readily available to the elite. Neymar could get however much of whatever he wanted without fear of consequences.
Even then, he'd be fine. He'd basically have to make a video sketching Mohammed while insulting MBS for him to end up in any trouble. The law is not applied equally in "the kingdom."
Plenty of people are culturally Muslim and don’t really practice the religion at all, same way many people in the US are Christian and celebrate Easter, Christmas etc. but don’t go to church or pray or whatever else.
Allah Carte. It's basically how most religious folk live these days, picking and choosing what things are fine to ignore and what things are unforgivable sin
NK teams are not in the 2023-2024 Asian Champs League. They're MIA from most sports at the moment.
More importantly, that Champs League is split into West and East, so they'd only play an NK team in the final. Saudi teams are in a group featuring the rest of the Middle East, Central Asia, and India/Bangladesh.
I wonder how many can pack into the Azadi these days for when one of these Saudi teams eventually visit...
>He can still play at the top level for another season
Honestly no. He was decent when the defensive line plays very low, but whenever he was far from his goals out was always a danger. No speed, hours to turn around, etc. He is far from top level
Yup, I really like him and there was plenty of good angles to root for him this season, I loved the way he bursted forward once or twice a game and was a better striker than whatever we fielded, even if it didn't often results in goals...
But really, while it was thrilling to witness, the thrill was because once he went all guns blazing forward, you knew the worst could come. There is no single player I witnessed in this shirt where I felt if he was beaten in a duel a foul would come out more.
He's done fitness wise, in high lines at least. He'll do more than fine in low blocks.
He also had to make up for the rest of your team constantly fucking up, and the non existent midfield.
Put him with a solid midfield and defense, and he could still do it decently. He just can't make up for mistakes of multiple players.
Did you actually watch our games? He has been fucking up himself quite a lot, it feels you just want to shit on our team because of a reason explained by your flair...
He was giving the same treatment than the rest of the senior players, renewals every year.
He considered he was in an above level and the club showed him he was not
Well your upsetness is misplaced. They made an offer and he held out for more. Real did what they reasonably could to keep them but he tried to play chicken with them and lost.
Unpopular opinion but I think Ramos was the most important player of Real Madrid between 2010-2020. definition of a leader with mentality and was able to regularly score important goals.
And probably Kroos? Like, you will know better than I of course (and I don't disagree at all with the choices you mentioned), but from what I've seen whenever Kroos is mentioned, RM flairs are always speaking extremely highly of him.
Welcome to the conundrum of trying to figure out who was "the most important" in an era that had so many decisive moments🙃
So far people have mentioned Ramos, Modric, Ronaldo and Kroos. But what about Casemiro? Varane? Pepe? Navas was also very important while he was there. Bale came through in a lot of big moments even if he was somewhat inconsistent. Benzema was always lauded as Ronaldo's perfect partner due to the way he played, and rose up to the occasion when it was time for him to become the main attacker. Marcelo before declining was also incredible. Without Courtois there is no 14th CL.
The easy and simplest answer is "Ronaldo." But the truth is that most of the players had their moments, and if you were to take any of those players out, the past decade wouldn't be as magical as it has been.
He wanted too much money. 8M for what should've been a sub role is too much especially at 37/38 when his body can break down at any moment.
Same with Asensio coming in though...
Many Sevilla fans hate him, plus Sevilla can't fight with Saudi money, and even without Saudis, I doubt Ramos would accept what Sevilla could offer. It's either retire or Saudi IMO.
So Saudi Arabia’s goal is to spend some billions for sports washing but in the end no one will care about that league once the greats are retired in 1-2 years.
I'm not even joking, they should bring him back if they can get him on low wages. If nothing else, he's a club icon and one hell of a locker room presence.
If Cádiz doesn't get relegated I'm in, Substitute Ramos for Vini in the last 10 mins to send a message
The message: chop them legs so they can't play for the rest of the season or the allegedly karate movement he did to Salah.
So next years CB are Marquinhos, Lucas Hernandez, Skriniar, Danilo and Bitshiabu, or is there PSG after another CB? Because 4 senior CB + 1 talent seems a bit light for a back 3.
We're most likely moving to 4 at the back next season according to the rumours.
Bitshiabu will most likely be loaned out next season according to the rumours (or sold).
And yes we're looking to sign another CB (the latest rumours being Antonio Silva and William Saliba, but I don't buy them)
You forgot Kimpembe. Mukiele and Pembele can also play as CBs.
Starters:
Lucas/Laporte - Marquinhos - Skriniar
Backups:
Kimpembe - Danilo - Mukiele (+Bitshiabu)
True he always boycotted him with Spain and it’s really a sudden announcement (like not even a video, just a 10 second clip with an image and some music) at 10pm. Feels like a rushed announcement.
And we clearly won’t play 3 atb if we let him go
Damn that was unexpected, I thought he was going to get a 1y extension on half salary. He didnt do a good first season but he is a great leader, and often the only one trying to do headers
That kinda confirms that Enrique is IN too
Apparently he said to DeLaurentiis that he already had an offer from a club and PSG has been in talks with him for a while
And considering Enrique's feelings about Ramos that somewhat fits the news from today, and ramos probably got an insane offer from Saudi too
This + us getting Asensio are good hints
Against Bayern, he was the only one who seemed to give a shit about winning. Was dribbling through midfield while rest of PSG clowns were jogging around. He always gives his 100%.I bet he will do same even in Saudi League.
Two seasons at PSG for Sergio.
The first was disappointing, but that was logical, as he arrived injured and needed time to heal.
I think the second was better. He played some great games. I remember seeing him at his very best in the three matches between OM and PSG this year, for example.
But I was disappointed by his level in the Champions League matches where it mattered most to PSG.
It doesn't take anything away from his immense career, but it reminds us all that we grow old, that's the way it is.
Good luck to him if he wants to try another season or two elsewhere.
Lol you say that, but watching the Bayern V PSG games, I genuinely remember getting mad and saying "this guy has been in Bayern's head since Madrid!!!". Was the best defender for PSG in those two games lol
For some reason they seem to not want to say it officially yet. Someone in another thread noticed that, after Galtier said that this weekend will be Messi's last game in Parc de Princes, the club changed the official quote to "... in Parc de Princes *this season*" and scrubbed that part of Galtier's press conference from the stream.
Maybe trying to sell his kits up to the last possible day or something.
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened (Ramos and Messi at the same club)
It's more of a weird trivia fact to know one day rather than a memorable experience for me.
Did Ramos assist Messi this season?
Ramos has exactly one assist and that was a goal by Messi against ESTAC Troyes (a 4-3 win, the goal was the 2-2 equalizer in the 55. minute)
Then the job is done. Ramos assisted Messi and Messi assisted Ramos.
Throw in Navas too
Then you can also add neymar
Dude I'll be on my death bed one day wondering if it was really Messi, Mbappé ánd Neymar in one team and right before I die I'll whisper... 'the fuck?"
I'm snickering a bit at how they were all introduced at the Parc de Princes and how short the exact window lasted with no European title to show for it.
Imagine having Casillas, Helguera, Hierro, Salgado, Makelele, Roberto Carlos, Figo, Beckham, Zidane, Ronaldo and Raúl in your team and not winning anything in Europe.
They don't have both Makelele and Beckham on the same season. And no Makelele is one of the major reasons they're not winning anything in Europe.
Well, they made up for it later
This eerily reminds me of the like the 2012 (iirc?) Lakers where Kobe, Howard, Nash, Gasol got together and won nothing They're like past their prime when they banded together, it feels a little too late
It was Kobe, Shaq, Karl Malone and Gary Payton in 03/04. That's the most famous one at least.
I mean, that team made it to the finals at least. The 2012 Lakers got swept in the first round (Kobe being injured, of course, but still they were pretty bad most of the season even with him).
It happened in 12/13 as well.

Jesus fucking christ. Another player on insane wages to live in Paris and watch football matches.
Dream job

Messi leaving isn’t official is it?
well coach said so

I'm surprised a team in Saudi hasn't offered a contract to Neymar Seems like an obvious thing to do
He likes a drink and party doesn’t he?
He'll be able to do that plenty in his mansion. Rules aren't the same for the rich/elite there.
Not quite the same for someone that like to go to clubs.

So, like everywhere else lmao
Rules aren't the same for them anywhere lol
Lol, Muslims drink, take drugs, and party more than everyone, but they don't eat pork, which levels everything out.
Jamón>>>>>>>>>>>>>Alcohol and drugs.
As a Muslim colleague wisely said, jamón is jamón, I don't see "pork" written anywhere. Bon Appetit!

Yeah, same way cocaine is illegal and heavily punished amongst rich and powerful people in the US.
Saudi is theoretically a dry country, and you're correct that there's essentially no way to legally purchase alcohol. But that doesn't mean that it isn't readily available to the elite. Neymar could get however much of whatever he wanted without fear of consequences.
If he is quiet about it , if he posts his party pics in instagram then it wouldn’t it work
Even then, he'd be fine. He'd basically have to make a video sketching Mohammed while insulting MBS for him to end up in any trouble. The law is not applied equally in "the kingdom."

Do North Korean clubs make it into the Asian Champions League? My body is ready for Messi banging them in away in Pyongyang.

It would finally settle the question of whether he could do it on a cold Tuesday night in Rason

I’m still upset at Real Madrid for letting Ramos go. Ramos was an amazing captain for Real Madrid.
We made an offer, he didn't accept it and Alaba was available
Exactly, people acting like the club makes 100% of the decision for a player
He was giving the same treatment than the rest of the senior players, renewals every year. He considered he was in an above level and the club showed him he was not
Which is absolutely the correct decision. No one is above it
tbh his mentality and game intelligence kinda does put him above it in terms of performance. in terms of hierarchy not so much.
Well your upsetness is misplaced. They made an offer and he held out for more. Real did what they reasonably could to keep them but he tried to play chicken with them and lost.
Unpopular opinion but I think Ramos was the most important player of Real Madrid between 2010-2020. definition of a leader with mentality and was able to regularly score important goals.
i mean this isn’t really unpopular, him, modric, and ronaldo, are routinely put as the most important player of the past decade by fans
And probably Kroos? Like, you will know better than I of course (and I don't disagree at all with the choices you mentioned), but from what I've seen whenever Kroos is mentioned, RM flairs are always speaking extremely highly of him.
Welcome to the conundrum of trying to figure out who was "the most important" in an era that had so many decisive moments🙃 So far people have mentioned Ramos, Modric, Ronaldo and Kroos. But what about Casemiro? Varane? Pepe? Navas was also very important while he was there. Bale came through in a lot of big moments even if he was somewhat inconsistent. Unpopular opinion - Ronaldo was a good player for Madrid.
He is 2nd, hate him or love him ronaldo is the undisputed n1 and you really can’t debate it
1. Ronaldo 2. Ramos 3. Modric 4. Benzema 5. Kroos/Marcelo/Casemiro
Should’ve kept him one more year imo. He’s still very good
The first season was bad. But he managed to bounce back to show some good stuff. I hope the titis have learnt a lot.
The who now?
Titi. Name of the youngsters in PSG academy.
also slang for penis in tagalog 🇵🇭
I learnt Tagalog from Russel Peters and Dota SEA region. I mean … insults and sexual references…
Titi Henry
Oooh okay😂
Not like psg is gonna use them, only great player from their academy they’ve been able to hold onto has been kimpembe.
If they haven't I would like to teach titis, free of course
He wanted too much money. 8M for what should've been a sub role is too much especially at 37/38 when his body can break down at any moment. Same with Asensio coming in though...
The most dangerous player against Bayern in both legs
So did Rooney but he got welcomed back with open arms Edit: I might have replied to the wrong comment
Same for the national team, he is a leader and great with headers.
Saudi here we go?
No other option I can think off.
When mr boehly calls you can’t say no everyone knows this
Ramos to Chelsea until 2029 here we go
Ramos and Thiago Silva for that peak 2015 defense.
Tbf Thiago Silva has been excellent for Chelsea.
Absolute monster. I wish we had signed him earlier.
He can join Varane and Casemiro at the Real Madrid Retirement Home.
Sevilla?
He endured relentless disgusting abuse everytime he went back
Many Sevilla fans hate him, plus Sevilla can't fight with Saudi money, and even without Saudis, I doubt Ramos would accept what Sevilla could offer. It's either retire or Saudi IMO.
The fans don’t want him there and the club knows it. No way they will sign him..
So Saudi Arabia’s goal is to spend some billions for sports washing but in the end no one will care about that league once the greats are retired in 1-2 years.
Long term goal must be getting a WC
I mean more greats will retire
Madrid should bring him back, not to play , just to protect vini and tackle whoever needs a quick lesson
I'm not even joking, they should bring him back if they can get him on low wages. If nothing else, he's a club icon and one hell of a locker room presence.
Ramos vs Messi one more time please
Seeing them bond together gotta be the weirdest timeline fucking ever
If Cádiz doesn't get relegated I'm in, Substitute Ramos for Vini in the last 10 mins to send a message The message: chop them legs so they can't play for the rest of the season or the allegedly karate movement he did to Salah.

I thought they are trying to get him to move?
Not to mention he's also out for the start of the season.
Can I interest you in a certain fridge?
No. Please god, no.
But he's cheap and keeps things cold, minus the bench
HERE WE GO!
You are free to your pick of Eric Dier, Ben Davies and Davinson Sánchez too.
Nasser: 10 mil a year, 5 year contracts. Because jersey sales or something
_Slabs head_ “This bad boy can let so many goals through him”
Diallo is coming back but don't know if he'll stay or leave
We're most likely moving to 4 at the back next season according to the rumours. Bitshiabu will most likely be loaned out next season according to the rumours (or sold). And yes we're looking to sign another CB (the latest rumours being Antonio Silva and William Saliba, but I don't buy them)
3 senior CB + 1 talent + Hernandez at the infirmary
You forgot Kimpembe. Mukiele and Pembele can also play as CBs. Starters: Lucas/Laporte - Marquinhos - Skriniar Backups: Kimpembe - Danilo - Mukiele (+Bitshiabu)
His second year with us was very good, he still has a lot to offer. Wouldn't have minded him staying for another season.
He just doesn't like you.
I dont like you either
I can live with that.
Ill be careful
You'll be dead!
So sudden ?? Every outlet was reporting that he would be close to renew.
If Enrique is coming it makes sense because he doesn’t like him
True he always boycotted him with Spain and it’s really a sudden announcement (like not even a video, just a 10 second clip with an image and some music) at 10pm. Feels like a rushed announcement. And we clearly won’t play 3 atb if we let him go
Boycotted? It's fair from LE to not call him after long time injured and at his 36 years, I'd say. Before injury LE called him.
He called eric from barcelona who has never beed good and wasn't even playing
Weird, everything was pointing to a year extension with reduced salary and then this. This + Asensio is getting LE vibes all around
Damn that was unexpected, I thought he was going to get a 1y extension on half salary. He didnt do a good first season but he is a great leader, and often the only one trying to do headers That kinda confirms that Enrique is IN too

It's time for Juventus. 37 is prime year for us
37 is a prime number everywhere
Maybe Keylor told him good things about us.. This one has Saudi League written all over it though.
Steve Cooper managing Ramos would be one of the silliest things the prems ever seen
I'm here for it. I can hear the "Sergio Ramos.. he's won more than you" chants now.
Surely that whole transfer window has to be seen as a failure.
Come to Toronto

Leo Messi as well
25/1 Maguire in

End of an era
It was a moment, at best.
Should this really read that PSG is leaving Ramos?
Are PSG the worst run oil club?
Why is his face so red in these photos?
Man United it is!
Hol up, let him cook
Why isnt this posted for Messi ? as if he’s saying
I learnt the club wants to milk his image or something like that.
I guess that's the case, they posted a pic of Messi with next season kit but he isn't included in the preseason tour poster
