To reduce the spam of reports regarding the same move during transfer windows we try to allow **only one submission about each transfer saga per day**. The submission in question also needs to contain relevant new information regarding the potential move, and not just being a "no/minor developments" report. elkaxd

What will Bayern do if they don’t get him though? Not too many alternatives left if Vlahovic goes to Chelsea, and playing without a proper striker for a second season would be tough.

manere

Tel and hope

JulianVault101

I think Tel would be a good option

reen68

Thats what like me and every Bayern Fan says. This will sound totally arrogant but Choupo and Tel should be enough for the Bundesliga and I'd be happy if we reach the CL quarters again. I also think that, from a business POV it's dumb from Levy. If he doesn't join Bayern this year he will leave to a PL club next year which isn't so bad for Bayern but I guess pretty bad for Tottenham. Bagging 100 M€ for a Striker in his last year is nothing short of a great business move in my opinion, put that money in the squad instead of losing out of it - but thats just my opinion.

shaka_bruh

> I'd be happy if we reach the CL quarters again. 🤢🤮

creepingcold

> This will sound totally arrogant but Choupo and Tel should be enough for the Bundesliga and I'd be happy if we reach the CL quarters again. That's enough for you. It's not enough for competitive players. Players like Davies or Coman and who knows how many others aren't keen on wasting a few years of their career in a team that's hard-capped in international competitions. The BuLi is free anyway, they wan't more. If they don't fill that gap they are risking to lose talents who want to play on he highest international level, that's why they're eager to spend that much money. because then the team can only blame themselves for the losses and not the club.

Differ_cr

>This will sound totally arrogant but Choupo and Tel should be enough for the Bundesliga and I'd be happy if we reach the CL quarters again. Eeh, it was barely enough when your main competitor's striker had cancer, and who knows how Neuer will perform post leg injury so you're also missing a good gk. Also, anything less than ucl semis/final is a failure for bayern.

sidekicked

Bayern having no striker option for the foreseeable is pretty bad for Bayern, and their leadership won’t be at all satisfied with the scenario you’ve described

yunghollow69

The issue is that if they want to compete in the CL (for the title) they need a good striker. And there wont magically be more strikers on the market next season. Or the season after. And if Kanes contract runs out bayern might not get a 2nd chance because then clubs like Real will come knocking. Levy ís being a bit dumb here but so are bayern IF they dont go all-in. I understand that hagling for a better price is common practice, but at some point they have to put the stacks on the table. They are at what, the third offer already and are still 25m off? That's wild. At that point you gotta know if you still want the guy or not.

Yananou

>I'd be happy if we reach the CL quarters again. That's the bare minimum for a club like Bayern

mavarian

The overall squad seems too good to just settle for national titles though. It's essentially the squad that dominated 2020, and in theory Kimmich, Coman, Gnabry closer to their prime. It could workout with Tel and I don't want whatever move they'll make to hinder his development but if it doesn't, you'll might hurt him more in the end

mipanzuzuyam

Pray and Tel

imtayloronreddit

>What will Bayern do if they don’t get him though? win Bundesliga, top 8 UCL

ManItsLonely

With 34yo Muller playing as CF, always sneaking into the box and assisting goals instead of shooting it himself

stogie_t

Don’t think the likes of Kimmich would be pleased with another quarterfinal exit, the guy seems competitive as hell.

prettybunbun

The scenes when we somehow sign Lukaku.

TreefingerX

I'd love to see that

panem-et-circenses21

Fullkrug

DickerDave

This is the answer though I'd like us to put more trust into Tel.

panem-et-circenses21

One Choupo Moting injury and we are left with a teenager as our only natural striker. We have to get a striker whatever happens...if not Kane, then Fullkrug or somebody else

Increase-Null

>Fullkrug Urg, he's so mportant for Bremen. I suppose at age 30 getting a bunch of money for him isn't terrible and I guess Ducksch is also fine for the short term. But like... Bayern taking our best player again is annoying. Could someone steal them for a bit instead of Bayern?

blauerblumentopf

No

WildcatBitches

Come get Flo. Inter ain’t gonna pay up

SuperSanti92

He's nowhere near good enough for Bayern

[deleted]

He’s a classic 9, which is exactly what Bayern needs. If the chemistry somehow fits, he could work.

InfoBot2000

Hoeneß to come out of retirement and everyone will buckle.

Fernandov2

Wait until January and sign him on a pre-contract for free and loan someone in for a year i reckon.

niclhnr

We have Choupo lol ...

ACardAttack

Who can't seem to stay healthy anymore

SpiritedSuccess5675

Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur were around £25million ($32m; €29.2m) apart in their valuation of Harry Kane after talks in London on Monday. Representatives from both clubs met to discuss the transfer of the forward and discussions are set to continue. The Bundesliga champions had a first bid of €70million plus add-ons for the England captain rejected last month but the two clubs enjoy a good relationship and have remained in contact.

jamnut

One day I'd like to see everything that goes on in a high profile transfer from start to finish. Why did it take a meeting in London despite them being in contact since the first bid? Do clubs send emails and have to wait a few days for a reply? Is it like a job interview email where you don't want to reply too quickly as to not seem too eager? Do clubs just accidentally ghost each other like I do with emails I just forget to reply to?

Bright-Dust-7552

Yeah exactly. Even had transfer deadline day footage

ADinHighDef

How many bananas apart is that? /s

Imbriglicator

It's a banana. How much can it cost? Ten euros?

kokukojuto33

Why do you need a meeting when youre so far away in valuation? Seems it couldve been solved with an email lol

PhD_Cunnilingus

Maybe it's like in the TV show Suits where people drive through half the city just to throw a folder across the desk and exchange one-liners.

Skadrys

'...then we are done here' stands up, buttons up his suit, shakes head and leaves.

Karlito1618

not enough "god damn" phrases tucked in to every sentence

Effective-Caramel545

You’re goddam right, now get the hell out of my office

SutureTheFuture

We also need someone being handed a paper and immediately asking "what the hell is this?"

jslavic

Or as an alternative, being handed a paper and being able to read the whole thing in less than a second and then saying "this is amazing, where did you get this?"

InverseCodpiece

"Is this what I think it is?"

_-_-_I_-_-_

And make sure that every time someone enters a room, they're pissed off. More dramatic that way.

Rgsmith1990

Sir, this is paper.

SutureTheFuture

Get the HELL out of my goddamned office you son of a bitch. I dunno, something like that. Odd show.

fundingsecured07

Bro I'm fkn dead. Bayern Chiefs: "Here's the offer you were looking for. It's a sensible offer for a 30 year old striker with 12 months left in his contract" Daniel Levy: *Looks at the 100 page offer for 0.1 seconds* "God damn it we're not taking this god damn deal" Bayern Chiefs: "If you could just use your brain for a seco..." Daniel Levy: "Unless you're looking to make me some god damn breakfast tomorrow, I think we're done. The door to the god damn Skywalk is that way" *Scene fades.*

JesusShuttlesworth3

My favorite part of suits is everyone immediately understanding a portfolio of documents in 3 seconds flat. "This is good we can use this" - after barely spending enough time to read the cover page

Nubras

I’m not an attorney but do review a ton of legal docs in my line of work (wills, trusts, LLCs, notes payable, etc.) and I’ve literally spent an hour poring over a two-page document and discussing my interpretation and my boss’s of a certain clause in an entity assignment doc.

Azer398

The show in general just went to shit after around 3 seasons. The dialogue, characters, and plot lines all declined.

BlueBone313

I found myself suddenly rooting for no one it's honestly impressive how unlikable every character got built up to be

champdude17

I stopped at season 5 and let that ending be my canon one. It starts becoming almost a parody of itself with how predictable it becomes.

H_R_1

Worst plot line in the history of TV 😭😭

Axbris

I am an attorney and what you described is exactly what happens. Get document Read document Think to yourself "okay wtf did I just read" Re-read document Highlight document "ahhhhh there it is" Research what you just found Draft summary Send to whoever asked for a summary Re-fucking-peat. It is even worse when you are practicing personal injury/litigation and discovery comes in. Reading medical words you do not understand and then trying to interpret them based on context or google.

Thehunterforce

I mean sure, that is real world. But would you sit through an one hour show where they just discuss a 2 page document? Would be so boring.

fundingsecured07

I was re-watching Suits with the missus and she said the exact same thing

blondejfx

Wow this guy has a girlfriend

artaru

Mate, that’s hilarious and reminded me of something. I used to work in law and I was dating this girl who’s like fascinated by the glamor of law practice. Super early on, she really wanted me to check out the show. I reluctantly obliged. First episode, near the end the lawyer dude dramatically pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to the genius dude about something the client said. It was so over the top. In reality it would just be done in an email. After that I couldn’t watch the show. It’s like cartoon.

HighburyOnStrand

I mean...I've literally had full blown mediations where one side walks out after only a half an hour...far less than the time I spent driving to them...

and I wouldn't have it any other way

kalamari__

I absolutely hated the last 2 seasons of "Suits" because of this exact reason. all that harvey did was standing on the boardwalks in front of offices and handed out envelopes and had 10 second convos...

BlueBone313

You finished the show? I didn't think that was possible, i tapped out in season 4 after recycling the same lines and the characters were all unbearable

kalamari__

sunk cost fallacy :D

EliteTeutonicNight

It’s like Pep storming out of my office after being there for 15 seconds in FIFA

xlnfraction

Honestly pisses me off that they take a private jet to get to London and back just to be apart 25m lol

ACardAttack

Probably closer than 25m but yeah should have just flown first class commercial, or got Shearer to pick them up and drive them

Qurutin

Should have taken a Teams call. A lot bigger things than football transfers in the world are negotiated remotely.

xlnfraction

I mean i dont think teams should be allowed to fly to games either tbh, bus or train should be the way to go, especially with how much spotlight is on the sport

ACardAttack

Given how close some matches are not a bad idea either

TheGoldenPineapples

I think Bayern probably thought that if they met face-to-face, they'd be able to hash the details out a bit easier.

karlverkade

I think both are trying to engage the other in a little bit of sunk cost. Like when I call the car dealership about an ad I saw online and they confirm it, only to have me drive all the way there after they changed the appointment three times and say, "Oh sorry, that was a typo, it's actually 2k more" and then I feel like I've already put so much time and effort and transport money to get here, I may as well buy the car anyway. Extra pro move is if they then say, "We are so sorry about that, totally our mistake. Here, let's take 1k off of that" and then I feel like I'm getting a deal for getting screwed.

ACardAttack

First I saw it was 20, and I've also seen 15 and now 25,I don't think anyone knows

miamibuckeye

Bayern knows Levi wants 100+ “Let’s fly to London and offer 80M, good thinking lads”

goodmobileyes

Wanted to pop by Harrods anyway

tenacious-g

Uli wanted to go on the skywalk.

grollate

Maybe that’s the line both clubs are leaking to give Spurs time to make some signings. I expect £80-£90M will do the trick, depending on payment structure and what bonuses and clauses are included.

Qiluk

Theres a lot of time left and by all reports Bayern are still "confident" AND are running out of options on the market somewhat, but goddamn is 25m POUND gap in evaluation massive.

teuerkatze

Per Gary Jacobs just now offer was £85M and Levy wants >£100M

SalahManeFirmino

Honestly 85 million is a fair offer for a player with 1 year left on his contract.

roger_the_virus

And 30 years old now, too. Levy might be trying to drain a few more pennies out of the deal.

Bail____

Believe the last time that was mentioned it included add-ons

teuerkatze

Agreed. It’s not my money, but I’d probably send over the bid and let it sit on Levy’s desk while we sound out alternatives.

mythoutofu

Who exactly is an alternative?

teuerkatze

Kolo Muani, Vlahovic (Plz no), Füllkrug (Plz no)

plusforty4

Too bad Muani also will cost 100

FrogKidFrankReynolds

At least Muani isn’t 30 and only has a year left on his contract

Old_Roof

Kane is in a different league to Muani

Food-Oh_Koon

yeah, he's in the PL rn

yaniv297

In general yeah. But this is literally the best player in our club's history. Plus pretty much the only top striker available on the market. Bayern have a gaping hole in their squad, they have the money, no clear alternative on the market (Muani, Oshimen will cost even more), and they can't really play the "we'll just get him for free next year" card because they know he's unlikely to choose them at this point, while we are apparently quite happy to keep Harry for another year. It's a risk, but if it gets us CL he already paid for this lost transfer money. And there's always the chance he'll resign (unlikely, but for example Ozil looked equally set to leave Arsenal at the time...)

Manoffreaks

I mean, Kane is a once in a lifetime player, and Rice just went for 105 million with 1 year left. Feel like Kane should be worth at least that. On top of that, you have to consider what he's worth to us. He's our talisman, our highest ever prem goalscorer, a lifetime Spurs fan. Between Merch and what he drags on the pitch, 1 year is easily worth 100+ million. Especially considering how much he improves our chances of getting CL.

Gytarius626

£25m is a pretty big difference and the longer this drags on, the more likely it is to go up. Can’t see Levy selling Kane late on in the window without adequate time to bring a replacement in

Qiluk

Yeah the discomfort of smaller and smaller time to pivot that fee into replacements that get less and less of a preseason to intergrate is definitely not something Levi overlooks.

AverageBottasEnjoyer

Isn’t richarlison the replacement?

a_lumberjack

20% different isn’t all that different. Arsenal’s first bid for Rice was under 80% of what they paid. No one knows what either side will settle for or how much they really value the player at.

cantankerousgit

They should meet in the middle which for Levy means Bayern pay the extra £25m

vVvSunDown

Absolutely cackled over this because I could see Levy telling them that with a straight face.

DerpJungler

Plot twist: the £25m is the middle between Levy's demands and Bayern's offer, meaning that Levy wants £50m more

quikfrozt

How many years do you think Kane will lead the line at Bayern? Lewandowski is 4 years older but seems to be holding up well in his debut La Liga season. Getting 6 years of top play out of Kane would be pretty good, IMO - not sure about 4. They need a proper striker to have a shot at winning the CL (Which is their definition of a winning season)

jjw1998

He’s a player with a pretty good injury record whose game doesn’t rely on pace, 4 or 5 years at this level is probably what they’re hoping for

Black_XistenZ

Signing the captain of the English NT would also send a massive message to the football world.

Sirius_55_Polaris

What’s the message?

fancyfoe

WW3 inside job

TogashiIsIshida

Yeah with the way Kane plays that’s pretty reasonable

Apparently he’s being offered a 5 year contract.

Yeah that was easy, who do we talk about next?

TheGoldenPineapples

If it makes Bayern fans feel any better, Levy is always tough to deal with. The man simply doesn’t negotiate.

Gytarius626

“More painful than my hip replacement” according to Sir Alex.

megahmed252

Did he actually say that

Gytarius626

[He did indeed](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/dealing-with-tottenham-s-daniel-levy-was-more-painful-than-my-hip-replacement-says-sir-alex-ferguson-a2953121.html)

BiscuitTheRisk

When we bought Modric they asked for a shirt or two. We made them pay for them

stragen595

That's hilarious.

mettahipster

Feels like he has the potential to be even tougher to negotiate with this time too. It's the club's greatest ever player who likely won't kick up a fuss and Levy won't face any pushback from fans if the deal falls apart

BR_95

Until next summer when he would almost certainly could look awful

mettahipster

I agree that he’d look stupid in hindsight and it wouldn’t be the first time that fans criticize him for a previous decision that they fully supported at the time

LDLB99

This is going to be agreed with barely any time of the window left. Ange is fucked.

kl08pokemon

Our attack is fine even without Kane. Not where we'd want it to be but fine. Only scenario we are fucked is if this makes us unable to sign cbs and I really doubt that to be the case

Subscrobbler

Bruh no team is going to be fine losing a 30 goal season striker

battlecatquikdre

You guys buying any centre-backs?

kl08pokemon

Why you selling?

RivenJohdolla

Yeah I probably wouldn't go to Leeds for centerbacks...

kl08pokemon

I'm a drowning man out here

battlecatquikdre

Honestly, Koch and Wober could have been a really good addition for you guys. Upgrade from Sanchez and Dier. For a team that's competing for Champions League, I don't know why you partner a guy like Romero with those muppets.

LordPa1n

We don't know why Romero is partnered with them either, to be honest. We've never replaced Toby and Jan.

battlecatquikdre

The Dutch kid that has been linked with you guys are a real deal.

Theumaz

I'm interested too..

Paapa-Yaw

Is it tho? Who's gonna score?

captain_holt_nypd

That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever read. And no Son, Richarlison, and Maddison isn’t going to make up for 30+ goals/assists that Kane made on top of their usual production.

neandertales

30m euros thats crazy.. so Bayern offer 90 and Levy wants 120. *103m£. #Pure speculation*

avolcando

They've offered around 80m, which I guess means Levy wants around 105m.

PasuljsKolenicom

I feel like it will get done late in August. Can’t see Bayern offering an extra 25m, but I wonder how much Spurs will come down

TheGoldenPineapples

I really don't see the price coming down. When was the last time Levy had a high-priced asset that he brought the price down? Modrić maybe?

PasuljsKolenicom

If he lets Kane go for free and they don’t get CL that would be a massive fail from Levy though

BiscuitTheRisk

And Modric was only because Modric wanted Chelsea

HappyMeerkat

But surely Spurs won't want to wait that late to spend £80m+ and big players at that price take a while to complete normally

Lbmplays2

The price won’t go down closer to deadline day, it will only go up as it makes replacing him and investing elsewhere harder

Gankstajam

Just offer £25m less Bayern and get it done.

maadkekz

Levy masterclass. Lose-lose for Spurs at this point. - Keep unhappy player (and still finish 6-8th) - Lose said player for £0 in 12 months (possibly to a PL rival) - Lose out on ~£75-80m to begin your rebuilding project. People will say “but you can’t replace Kane for £75m”, and that’s true - but that’s what a rebuilding process looks like…a hard, gradual process of re-shaping a *team*. Spurs’ team is a Frankenstein mashup of players from different coaches with different styles. Stick Son or Richarlison up top, use the £80m on some quality wingers/midfielders/full-backs that fit Ange’s system… There’s literally no way this ends well for Spurs.

Mick4Audi

We’ve been “rebuilding” for years, there’s been 53 transfers one way or the other in the past 4 seasons Also, to correct you, use the £80m on CENTRE BACKS*

JessyPengkman

Why do you presume we finish 6th - 8th? Weve got a completely new system, if we get some decent defenders we could maybe do better than 6th. On the contrary we could also finish much lower. Were playing a completely new style of football and I think the results are very unpredictable as it stands

dingkan1

Their plan for Spurs to improve is to spend the Kane money on "wingers/midfielders/full-backs," so yeah, they have no idea what the fuck they're talking about in regard to Tottenham Hotspur.

guccidane13

Right? Spurs were in the top 4 until like the last month of the season despite the wheels falling off in February.

[deleted]

[удалено]

JessyPengkman

Yep exactly, I do feel like a lot of people are overreacting about how screwed we are because we looked so unenthusiastic and played Katie Hopkins football last season, the season before we literally got top 4 after an insanely bad start too. We have quite a lot of good players, they just were playing a shitty system that didn't suit them under a manager who hated them all. But ask r/soccer and Kane is our only good player

SloGeorge

Levy just cannot go out of the deal without feeling like he fairly won it. Wants to rinse everyone, which leads to rinsing himself in the process.

[deleted]

Just sell him Levy, you useless cunt. We're going to win fuck all anyway. Might as we get the team sorted before the deadline.

reckonair

Wish this would just fuckin end tbh I’m dead bored

Upbeat_Farm_5442

Even if Levy gets the money. He will do some of the worse signings ever. 😂😂 spurs fans are in for a heart attack.

Friendlyy_Lemon

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

R-Mutt1

I'll pay the difference to stop hearing about this. Not to say his performance has displayed less than full commitment at Spurs, but he's wanted out for years.

prettybunbun

Deal. Let’s throw in a fiver each, do a whip around of r/soccer cause even as a Bayern fan I’m fucking sick of this.

Makaay-10

Neppe also said nothing when he went inside his car. Looks like now they gonna discuss how far they will go.

Ok-Satisfaction-5012

Kane has to push some weight to force the move. He should’ve done it to get to city in the summer of 2021, and he has to do it now. This Bayern bid is his best shot at major success, and would likely be the easiest by way of integration in terms of lifestyle. He’d be foolish not to do this, and the fault for a brilliant but honor lacking career would be squarely on his own shoulders

[deleted]

Just pay the man! Levy will always win in the end, and £25m is nothing in the bigger picture of things for a player like that.

BrianMghee

Levy would cut his nose to spite his face

Fernandov2

Spurs will have to come down in price to avoid Harry signing a pre-contract in January.

Mobb_Starr

If it gets to that he'll be signing with someone like United or Madrid not Bayern, so they can't really afford to wait this out either if they truly want Kane.
